What customers say about "Key Specs"
Dell U3415W (PXF79) Curved LED-Lit
  • Ability to overclock the display to 75Hz on Windows 10 remains an open secret killer feature not found on other models
  • This monitor is beautiful. Both the monitor as a whole and the display are extremely pleasant to look at. While you could pay the same amount for a high refresh rate gaming monitor, I often find those to look extremely tacky.
  • The resolution is nice, although I wish it was a full 4k instead of only about 2k. If you are looking at the Dell 34" monitors I would have to say go with the U3417W instead of the U3415W the 15 is not near as curved and the stand is better on the 17.
  • This monitor is only 60hz, but a search online revealed that some are able to overclock the monitor to 75hz with a custom setting in the Nvidia control panel.
  • The monitor doesn’t seem to automatically adjust the display resolution as nicely or as smoothly as it should.
Dell U3417W FR3PK UltraSharp Curved LED-Lit Monitor
  • Love the 1440 vertical resolution
  • Extremely bright - I'm running @ 55 brightness, 60 contrast in a room that is brightly lit by indirect daylight
  • The resolution is excellent. The refresh rate is fast. The colors are vibrant. I mostly write manuals and do some graphics. I am quite pleased with it
  • The only issue have had is with older games not being suppoted in WQHD.
  • It does not have the 4K resolution of an other monitor I have but its perfect to write and have some reference or computation on one part of the monitor and write on an other part.

What customers say about "Display"
Dell U3415W (PXF79) Curved LED-Lit
  • HDR does work, its a setting in the preset color option, using a ps4 pro with it
  • If you can find games and movies that support 21:9, or if you don't mind spending the time to make certain titles cooperate, this will be a much better experience than a 4k monitor at 16:9.
  • Extremely bright - I'm running @ 55 brightness, 60 contrast in a room that is brightly lit by indirect daylight
  • Can see a warm and cool lights emmiting from the edge of the screed if a black or verry dark image appears. its a little destracting, it moves with your fov, unknown how it works.
  • There is in fact light bleed and IPS glow, but the issue isn't anywhere as bad as some of these other reviews make it out to be (at least on the monitor I received).
  • The backlight bleed is heaviest in the bottom left corner, but it's not terribly bad. Applying a small amount of pressure to the plastic corner seems to take it away entirely, so I might look into some of the common fixes to minimize it.
Dell U3417W FR3PK UltraSharp Curved LED-Lit Monitor
  • Gaming and watching 21:9 videos are superb on this extra widescreen
  • I want to thank every game developer that natively supports 21:9 at this resolution as well. There's nothing quite like filling this beautiful screen up with a good game (currently Titan Souls from Steam). Well and fully recommended.
  • The extra width comes in very handy to have documentation as well as an IDE or terminal window open at the same time. I do very little photo editing or publishing work so color accuracy and high contrast aren't as much of a concern as eye comfort.
  • Matte, anti-glare finish doesn't seem to diminish picture or clarity in any way. I work in a VERY bright room. I have bright windows behind me which I have to close the shades on but I can imagine others working with bright windows behind them.
  • Curvature is genuinely helpful and never distracting

What customers say about "Features"
Dell U3415W (PXF79) Curved LED-Lit
  • The curve doesn't distort images in any way and does in fact improve my viewing experience. The corners of large, flat displays seem so distant now.
  • Matte, anti-glare finish doesn't seem to diminish picture or clarity in any way. I work in a VERY bright room. I have bright windows behind me which I have to close the shades on but I can imagine others working with bright windows behind them.
  • The built in speakers are pretty lackluster, but they're not awful and I'll use them when I don't feel like using my headphones.
  • Speakers are decent but you will probably not be using them.
  • Speakers are loud but audio quality is poor.
Dell U3417W FR3PK UltraSharp Curved LED-Lit Monitor
  • I use a monitor arm that was able to hold each easily with a VESA 100x100 attachment.
  • It has standard Vesa mounting points for wall mounting, something I am considering doing. The bezel is thin and just looks good.
  • The Dell has slightly more powerful speakers (2 x 9W) versus Samsung (2 x 7W). I think the Dell sounded slightly better in a TV and music test, but this is highly subjective.
  • Decent built in speakers for general use, which actually sound pretty good for when you take off your headphones and visit YouTube.
  • Speakers are loud but audio quality is poor.
Connectivity
Inputs
HDMI(vr2.0) connector, MHL connector, Mini DisplayPort, DisplayPort (version 1.2), DisplayPort out (MST), USB, 3.5mm jack
Display port (w/HDCP), DisplayPort out, HDMI, USB 3.0
What customers say about "Connectivity"
Dell U3415W (PXF79) Curved LED-Lit
  • If sound is channeld through the hdmi and out the monitors 3.5mm output, it will use all dual channel frequencies (44.1kHz - 192kHz) of linear pcm
  • Built in USB switching between 2 different computers that can be associated to different video inputs. Switching is very fast.
  • Came with all necessary cables to get you up and running. Has display port and HDMI only. If your video card has DVI, you need to get a new video card.
  • Wish the USB switching allowed for switching between more than 2 inputs
  • The monitor has plenty of inputs, especially with the USB ports but unfortunately, the monitor only has one HDMI port making the dual computer setup a bit more complicated than it needs to be.
Dell U3417W FR3PK UltraSharp Curved LED-Lit Monitor
  • Built in USB switching between 2 different computers that can be associated to different video inputs. Switching is very fast.
  • DP, mini DP, MHL, & HDMI inputs
  • The device comes with 4 cables, one of which is display port to Mini-display port.
  • Wish the USB switching allowed for switching between more than 2 inputs
  • USB ports are not in most convenient places. Most easily accessible port is on the left side of the monitor, furthest away from my wireless mouse.
