Logitech MX900

Refined Solution

The Logitech MX900 is one of the few models that have a backlit feature, a much more common part of the more expensive gaming and built-in laptop keyboards. Although it is not advertised as a typing model, it makes the process a lot easier and enjoyable, while the keys operate quietly enough so that they won't distract you or the people around you.

The main advantage of the MX Master mouse is the ability of its Dark Field sensor to work flawlessly on virtually any surface, from polished wood to transparent glass (with the thickness of 4mm and more). While the sensor is definitely top-notch, the palm rest positioning can be quite unusual for some users, especially if it is your first mouse of this type. As for the more unusual features, the Master mouse has a thumb wheel that is unique to this series of Logitech peripherals mice. It's nice but may take some time to get used to.

The only real drawback of this USB combo is the service life of the rechargeable batteries that are supplied with the kit, which is quite limited. Other than that, the MX900 is definitely a good long-term solution for gaming, typing, and general Internet surfing thanks to the rest pads on the keyboard and the high-quality sensor of the mouse.

In conclusion, the MX900 set from Logitech is perhaps the best wireless keyboard and mouse from their lineup available today considering the unique features and the outstanding quality that makes their products last longer than others.

Dell KM717

A Surprisingly Unique Design

The KM717 Premier from Dell is one of the most unusual wireless sets available on the market today. The first things that catch the eye are the construction and the shape of the mouse. The ergonomic and lightweight design make it really stand out. However, right from the get-go, you can tell - it is not an all-purpose model. Although it is quite convenient to use this mouse throughout the day, its shape is far from being perfect for gaming purposes.

Other than that, the keyboard that comes in the package is fairly basic and doesn’t feature any fancy elements like a rest pad or additional keys. Nevertheless, it can be used quite comfortably for both typing and gaming, mostly thanks to the function (Fn) buttons that compensate for the lack of additional buttons.

The only real hiccup that you may run into with this model is the Bluetooth connectivity that can lag quite a bit when switching from one device to another. However, if you intend on using the kit with one system, once paired, the lag becomes barely noticeable.

Despite some minor flaws, the Dell KM717 keyboard and mouse set is perhaps one of the best budget kits for office use. Though relatively basic, a couple of versatility features that you generally won't find in this price range makes the product worth a spot on our list.

Logitech MK550

Typing Made Easy

Designed specifically for the purpose of typing, the MK550 keyboard from Logitech has a few aces down its sleeve. On top of the regular set of keys, the model features all kinds of additional buttons like the multimedia and quick access keys. While the former is pretty much self-explanatory, the quick access keys make it easy to minimize all windows, close the programs, and turn off the whole system. Moreover, 18 additional keys can be programmed to your liking, so you are not limited to hotkeys only.

The curved design of the keyboard also provides an extra level of comfort and significantly reduces the physical fatigue. Furthermore, this model features a palm rest that can be used for comfortable typing, while the special foldable stands on the bottom panel of the device will allow you to adjust the height to your liking. The difference in the comfort of use is night and day compared to typing with a regular keyboard.

As for the mouse, there isn't much particularly interesting about it except that it is equipped with a laser sensor that provides a sensitivity option range and the precision of high-end peripherals.

Of course, there are no perfect products out there, but the only disappointing part of this model is the lack of the caps-lock indicator. However, if this minor drawback is not crucial to you, then the MK550 set will definitely be a great addition to your existing PC system.

Jelly Comb JC0317

Versatile and Affordable

The Jelly Comb JC0317 wireless keyboard and mouse stand out from the crowd of similar products due to the slick appearance of the mouse and the ultra-slim design of the keyboard. The latter is made of aluminum and has an alloy finish that makes the keyboard both durable and lightweight.

The mouse has 3 DPI settings of 800, 1200, and 1600 that can be changed with a single press of the button located near the mouse wheel. Although it is not much for gaming, this kind of DPI range is more than acceptable for work and your everyday purposes. As for the other aspects, the mouse features 4 buttons, with 2 of them being programmable.

Further down the list are the wireless capabilities, so let's take a closer look at them. As you may already know, many wireless keyboards and mice kits utilize the 2.4 GHz Bluetooth receivers. That being said, unlike most other devices, this one actually can work on long distances (by keyboard standards, of course) of up to 32 feet, which is quite impressive for such a small device.

Although the keyboard's design looks far from ergonomic, the device in question is actually quite practical. The high-quality keys are responsive and easy to push, which makes the typing process quiet and comfortable.

All in all, the Jelly Comb JC0137 wireless keyboard and mouse combo is light and compact, while the high build quality makes it one of the most attractive and affordable sets for everyday use.

VicTsing VTVTPC132ABUS

As Quiet as It Comes

As basic as it may seem, the VicTsing kit is a solid choice when it comes to picking a quality budget-friendly wireless mouse and keyboard combination. Price aside, let’s break down the main features of this kit.

First of all, both the keyboard and the mouse can be plugged in via USB and work straight away, thanks to the built-in compatibility with Windows 7, 8, 10, and even Windows XP that is now obsolete.

Aside from that, the keyboard has 104 keys, and each one of them is responsive, light, and quiet. The keys layout is pretty basic as far as the standard keyboard design goes, so it can be used both as a gaming model and as a peripheral for work.

The mouse, on the other hand, is a different beast. This particular model features three DPI settings and can be switched to 800, 1200, and 1600 DPI. The drawback of this mouse is the fact that it runs on one battery. Since the capacity of the AA batteries is quite limited, the single battery will have to be changed on a regular basis. Other than that, the device from VicTsing can be described as a solid middle-ground solution, which is more than you could ask for from such a modestly priced mouse.

In short, this wireless keyboard and mouse kit is everything you would want to see in a combo like that. It will definitely come in handy for years to come as both main and secondary inputs for your PC or a laptop.

What Is a Wireless Keyboard and Mouse?

While the separate mouse and keyboards are widely available on the market today, the combo models that are designed for working together as one unit are not as much of a common sight. These sets are meant to deliver the maximum comfort of use and top-notch performance at the same time. It can be frustrating trying to find the perfect combination of a mouse and keyboard and that is one of the reasons why such offers exist.

There are quite a few types of these wireless kits out there. To name a few, there are keyboards for typing, gaming, or combo models that are well-suited for general purposes. As for mice, there are those that are engineered specifically for the purposes of gaming. Then, there are your everyday mice that offer a bit of everything. But before you make a decision, you will need to check if the wireless set is compatible with your system. Otherwise, you may face some connectivity issues in the long run. Although the majority of wireless products operate on the 2.4 GHz frequency, do not worry, the keyboard and mouse will not interfere with other devices in your house such as TVs, Wi-Fi routers, and smartphones.

If you're interested in some of the more sophisticated gear, check out our review of gaming keyboards. And if you're looking for a more ergonomic solution, a mini keyboard will be able to suit your needs.
