PROS

Instead of a heavy dustbin, this model uses a cloth wipe to pick up the dirt and debris. It's easy to clean off, and it saves time on maintenance.

CONS

Just 2 operation modes.

OUR VERDICT

Great choice for those with hard surface floors such as wood and tile, this model won't scrape hardwood planks with brushes as it uses a cloth wipe instead. Using smart navigation, this robot will get to dust and debris in the tiniest nooks, guaranteeing complete tidiness. Ideal option for big non-carpeted homes.

iRobot Braava 380t

Adaptive Robomop for Tile and Hardwood

Automation is the new way of life with robotic appliances, taking over every single task in your home. But not even the top of the line models can do everything for you like, for example, emptying out the dust container in your vacuum or robomop. That’s why we like the iRobot Braava 390t, which makes the one non-automated process simpler by using a cloth wipe to collect dirt instead. You can brush all dust off with a single shake or just rinse the cloth under tap water.

This model uses iAdapt 2.0 navigation to move around the house without bumping into walls, avoiding stairs and drops. Thanks to this smart trajectory building, the device dry cleans about 1000 square feet and mops about 350 square feet on a single charge of 210/150 minutes. Much more efficient than going through the room with a wet rag by yourself, wouldn’t you say?

As the device uses a cloth to clean, it’s suited best for hard surfaces as getting dirt out of a carpet can be tough with no brush to really dig in between the bristles of the rug. Plop it down in your kitchen and your tiles will be squeaky clean without you lifting a finger.

Overall, if you want a truly smart robot and not just a glorified duster, the iRobot Braava 390t is exactly what you need. It’s going to keep all hard floors in your home tidy with the benefit of technology on its side.

Ecovacs Deebot M80

Damp Cleans Your Home in Under 2 Hours

Feel like all those “smart” robotic appliances aren’t actually smart enough to properly clean all corners of the house? You don’t have to go back to your old vacuum, try the Ecovacs Deebot M80 instead, as this model combines the benefits of an automatic mopping machine with full manual controls for your convenience.

You can either input some of your preferred settings via an ergonomic remote or opt for full control of the device using the ECOVAC app on your smartphone. That way you can take full advantage of the V-shaped main brush to get into any nook and cranny and sweep up all dust.

Even if you leave the Ecovacs Deebot M80 to tidy up in auto mode, it’s going to impress you with how much it covers on a single charge. While a dry-clean area of 1000 square feet is quite good, the real gem is the damp cleaning of 500 square feet, supported by a 5 oz reservoir. You won’t have to refill it in the middle of cleanup and, by the time the little robomop is done, the floors in your home will be glistening.

For added convenience, you can choose between standard brush cleaning or swap them out for a microfiber cloth that’s easier to rinse off and works best with the wet clean mode used on hard surfaces. The brushes, of course, are intended for really sweeping through carpets and rugs, getting to each strand of hair or clump of fur.

You probably already see what makes the Ecovacs Deebot M80 so impressive and maybe even have it in your cart on Amazon, but we do want to note that the device takes almost 4 hours to charge. It shouldn’t be much of an issue as you’re not likely to use it more than once a day and, considering that it’s the only prominent flaw, we have no qualms about recommending this efficient and versatile cleaning robot.

iLife V5s Pro

High Coverage and Spotless Floors

When you think of a robocleaner, the image that comes to your mind is likely of a round and short device quietly buzzing around your home, sucking up dirt and dust. And while not all models look like that, the ILIFE V5s Pro does boast a classic design in addition to its high-precision cleanups.

This floor washing robot has 4 main modes and you can leave everything up to the sensors by engaging the auto-clean option or schedule the robomop to do scheduled cleanups every day of the week instead. Either way, you won’t have to worry about this little guy abandoning his post or accidentally falling down into the basement as the anti-collision and cliff-detection sensors will keep the robot sliding around unimpeded.

The ILIFE V5s Pro will always provide efficient cleanups thanks to the 2 side brushes picking up dust and debris, including hair and fur that might cling to tiles and get stuck between wood panels. This makes it an equally viable model both for hard surfaces and carpeted floors. No device is flawless but the ILIFE V5s Pro does come close to that standard. Its one major disadvantage is that the robot seems to get lost on its way to the charging station sometimes. It doesn’t happen too often but don’t be surprised if you come upon the little guy buzzing quietly in the corner next to the dock, in need of you guiding it to the station manually.

To sum up, the ILIFE V5s Pro is certainly one of the most impressive robomops in terms of cleaning power and efficiency, covering up to 2000 square feet on a single charge. It picks up all kinds of dirt and debris and seems to be effective on all flooring types.

iRobot Braava Jet 240

Stains Gone in 20 Minutes

We think that the best robot mop should use every element of its design to your advantage, getting into every corner, sweeping up dirt with its brushes, and gliding around quietly without bothering you. That’s why we present the iRobot Braava Jet 240, a compact and noiseless robot that will mop up any spills without you even lifting a finger.

The rounded corners on this model make it perfect for getting to hard-to-reach spots such as under bathtubs, around toilets, underneath wardrobes and cabinets. It’s a bit higher than some of the flat Roombas you may see on the market but that height is justified by a capacious 4 oz tank, an indispensable feature needed for damp cleaning.

Using a single charge of 20 minutes, the iRobot Braava Jet 240 will ride out, spray and wipe all stains and dirt into non-existence, and drift back to its docking station, having covered up to 250 square feet. Not the most impressive coverage area, sure, but every inch of that surface will be scrubbed squeaky clean and the robot’s pads will leave no water behind like cheap knock-off models tend to.

So if you want a time-tested robomop from a renowned brand, the iRobot company has got your back with the Braava Jet 240. It’s a perfect choice for speedy cleanup of spills in the kitchen or sweeping up in the hall before guests come over. The device doesn’t take too long on its tidying sessions and navigates well thanks to the iAdapt system helping it along. A great well-rounded choice.

VBOT G270

Impressive Simplicity on a Budget

Have no experience with smart appliances but really want to get on the bandwagon and make your life easier with a robotic helper? We think you might like the VBOT G270, a simple yet effective little mopping machine.

The design of the VBOT G270 is elegant and modern, though it seems that not everybody is a fan of the side brushes sticking out a bit. However, this makes the bot more efficient and expands its coverage so we feel it’s a reasonable sacrifice in terms of design. Also, like many of its more expensive competitors, this model comes with a remote for easy control of the cleanup and a HEPA filter to keep the collected dust from escaping back into the air.

Despite being rather small, the VBOT G270 actually covers an impressively large area of 1500/500 square feet depending on what cleanup mode you choose. We do want to point out that the device has no water reservoir and you’ll have to wet the cloth yourself before setting the robot off to mop your floors. Still, the process of switching out the cloth for the brushes and vice versa is quite simple and taking a few seconds to dip the mop into water is far easier than doing the cleanup yourself.

To summarize, the VBOT G270 may have some less than great design choices tipping the scales but they’re nothing compared to the efficiency of this mop, its coverage area, the ease of control, and many of its other features.

Review of VBOT G270 Robot Vacuum Cleaner for Pet Hair with Mop and Self-Charging

What Is a Robot Mop?

Besides being a great time-saver that will keep your house pristine, a floor mopping robot also offers an unrivaled quality of cleaning that not even the most thorough homeowner can guarantee. It’s a simple yet elegant idea: a small circular robotic helper that rides around your home and sweeps up dirt and debris on hardwood floors, tiles, carpets, and more. You can program these little machines to spray the surface for cleaning, use brushes, and even set it up to mop up your home several days of the week without further prompting. Of course, they’re not all that different from the previous generations of robots such as the famous Roomba vacuums but they do offer a different kind of service.

If you’re already familiar with the quality offered by the robotic cleaners you probably have no hesitations about getting these wonder-moppers and neither should you! And if you’re not yet taking advantage of the iRobot Roomba robot vacuums, wait no longer and try them out. Plus, you should keep both your home and your yard neat, so don’t hesitate to get a robotic lawn mower to trim your lawn for you while you relax!
