What customers say about "Key Specs"
Dyson DC65 Animal Complete Upright Vacuum Cleaner
  • I absolutely fricken love this vacuum! When it arrived I vacuummed - and eventhough the carpets was vacuumed the day before with a Bosch canister - the amount of dust and fur (I have three cats) the Dyson sucked up....I was TOTALLY grossed out.
  • Can you be in love with a vacuum cleaner? I am. I bought the DC65 Animal Complete to replace my old pink Dyson DC07. It worked great for the 7 years I had it, but since we are buying a new house with carpeting, I decided it was time to upgrade!
  • They are great for dusting high surfaces and on upholstery, but nothing is really ideal for stairs. Given how well it's treated our rugs though, these are really minor complaints.
  • I was shocked thinking my carpet was clean which it probably was from the surface but this Dyson cleans it from under the hairs of the carpet! After we vacuum the carpet became flush, it feels wonderful.
  • Does a super job. Tools are a little awkward to use, and on some surfaces it can be tough to push, but those are minor flaws.
Dyson DC33 Multi-Floor Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner
  • Dyson was quick to drop the promo for this, a vacuum that is pretty much its original design, to push "the ball" version of its bagless, cyclonic vacumm. First and foremost, unless your machine has a manufacturing or shipping/handling flaw, the company's boast of "no loss of suction" is truth.
  • It will not go under low-clearance furniture, but I actually think it's handy for going under chairs, piano benches, etc.- the top part will recline to almost horizontal, so if the piece of furniture will clear the base, you can fit the vacuum under it.
  • All in all, it is a vacuum. It does what a vacuum should do, and it does it pretty well.
  • This vacuum is fantastic. The suction excellent and it also has the HEPA filtration system.
  • I hate to say it, because it sounds silly, but I love this vacuum. My daughter has horribly allergies that occur during pollen season. The Dyson has been a tremendous help in picking up irritants so I can get them out of the house.

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Dyson DC65 Animal Complete Upright Vacuum Cleaner
  • But seriously, if you want a light weight, but amazingly capable vacuum, this is it.
  • The weight is not an issue as the ball makes for ease of maneuvering AND this model has a power beater which assists in the pulling of the vacuum. At least the NEW beater gains traction. I don't know if a well worn beater would do as well.
  • Carrying it by the handle just doesn't feel as if its as solid to hold the weight of the vacuum over time. We will see.
  • The extremely light weight makes vacuuming a faster and easier chore, especially if you have multiple levels in your home as we do.
  • The new one uses plastic so flimsy over most of the unit...my guess in an attempt to save weight.
Dyson DC33 Multi-Floor Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner
  • The main vacuum body is not heavy enough to use its weight as an anchor while extending the hose or else it will tip over and lay on its side.
  • As for the weight, I don't mind; the weight is mostly electric motor (my opinion)and this to me, spells quality. The heavier the motor the stronger (again my opinion) and should give it a longer life.
  • This vacuum is light weight, fairly quiet and easy to maneuver.
  • Heavier than we expected. The weight is all low down. If this is a concern then Dyson have lighter versions.
  • I would go with a lighter weight, more gentle vacuum. There is no reason that you have to sacrifice for quality with so many other options out there.

What customers say about "Features"
Dyson DC65 Animal Complete Upright Vacuum Cleaner
  • Next, I worked on two carpeted rooms and used the dusting attachment to clean up a dresser, changing table, and crib. Again, I could not believe how much was in the bin.
  • The attachments are located on the vacuum for easy access, the electrical cord is longer and easier to wind up on the vacuum and the bags must hold about 4 times the volume of hair and dust compared to the Dyson. Also the Miele has lights which you will miss if you get the Dyson.
  • Oh and all the attachments on the Dyson complete version are super useful! If only they came with a nice box to store them or some kind of rack. Just a thought.
  • The extension hose is WONDERFUL, though. It reaches far enough to get those nooks and crannies. I love that 2 of the attachments are right on the machine, so it is super quick and easy to switch back and forth between vacuuming duties.
  • The hose thing is a bit difficult, but I needed something to pick up pet hair. I ran my (brand - X vacuum) over my area rug and then ran the Dyson for its first run.
Dyson DC33 Multi-Floor Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner
  • I've washed the filters once and the process was simple, much simpler than going to the store and buying filter bags.
  • The extension hose is nice and long and retracts very well, but it does not like to stay extended and therefore you have to hold the hose in one hand and the nozzle in the other.
  • It didn't reach under my sofa but I popped off one of the attachments and the hose and reached under there with no problem. The unit does chase you like a stage 5 clinger but it also wasn't a problem. It didn't fall over or tackle me to the floor.
  • I wish the hose wasn't that long tho. It is unnecessary for me because I like getting corners and long plastic part of the hose makes it more difficult to vacuum the edges of the floors. Oh wells.
  • he attachment hose is Long, and you have to pull it out to use it properly. This would have been better if it was shorter, but an easy work around is having the vacuum a few feet away from you and it works great then. This is not a design flaw because if you have 10Ft ceilings you need the length.

What customers say about "Power"
Dyson DC65 Animal Complete Upright Vacuum Cleaner
  • The long cord is handy, but it tangled a lot -- maybe it will relax after it gets more use -- and perhaps the hose will too, which is very tight, causing the vacuum to tip over when you use it with an accessory.
  • The power cord is wonderfully long, allowing me to finish 1-2 rooms in our large house without switching outlets. I love that (as, again, I am a lazy bum).
  • Length of cord is great. However, it's a pretty thick cord and doesn't flatten out well.
  • The other issue I have is the cord wants to get tangled into the vacuum, so I find myself holding it up a lot of time in certain situations.
  • The cord hangs in the most annoying possible manner--you literally must devote one hand to holding the cord the entire time you use the vacuum.
Dyson DC33 Multi-Floor Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner
  • 35ft cord is a significant benefit over the 25ft cord. I can almost do the entire floor by just plugging in a single outlet. Two would cover the whole house.
  • The length of the cord is sufficient for me to cover a lot of ground. In a perfect world, it would retract automatically (honestly, this would probably make it a 5-star vacuum for my needs), but I can handle wrapping it.
  • The cord is a bit shorter and the container that you empty a bit smaller but it works just as well as the original.
  • The cord is long and so convenient. The cord is not retractable but that is not important to us.
  • The power cord is a bit of a pain to roll by hand on the back of the vacuum cleaner every time you want to store it. A retractable cord would have been really easier...
