What customers say about "Features"
Yamaha RX-V685 7.2-Channel AV Receiver with MusicCast
  • The app provides excellent graphical cues for many receiver functions and even provides direct access to the user manual for your receiver.
  • The app is so good, it almost makes the remote control unit unnecessary. I could say a lot more, but I really think this Yamaha receiver is a super value.
  • Love the Android app for controlling the Amp. Works great.
  • The "works with Alexa" part is a joke. You have to add the Musicast skill on Alexa and that's all it does.
  • You have very limited control of the Musicast speakers. You can't turn on the units, change inputs, etc. Nope.
Yamaha RX-A680 7.2-ch 4K Ultra HD AV Receiver with HDR
  • IOS app makes it easy to run from my phone. System is also wireless speaker ready via MusicCast platform.
  • The Yamaha smartphone app is also a winner with a ton of controllability at you fingertips.
  • The Android app for system control is very handy too allowing control on all the system settings from a tablet.
  • Only dislike is the mediocre remote (not a learning remote), but easy to work around using their Android app.
  • The included antennas got me only one local am station and zero fm stations. I have tried another old antenna that I had around, that got me a station on fm.

What customers say about "Connectivity"
Yamaha RX-V685 7.2-Channel AV Receiver with MusicCast
  • Connect your favorite mobile communication device as a source and listen to your tunes in the house just as easily as in the car.
  • The Bluetooth connectivity is awesome and it connects easily with all other devices.
  • All the connections matched perfectly. We haven't tried the Alexia feature.
  • I love that this is internet connected and allows me to quickly bring up several different offerings of internet radio.
  • The bluetooth connection is strange and unstable, it can turn off every 5 minutes or it may work well.
Yamaha RX-A680 7.2-ch 4K Ultra HD AV Receiver with HDR
  • First thing you notice is the build quality of this unit, numerous HDMI connections; wi-fi, network, this receiver has it all.
  • The amount of connections on this thing is great, there is plenty of HDMI ins and outs for MOST all applications and legacy if thats your thing.
  • This receiver was packed well and it just worked the first time it was connected and powered-up.
  • Many HDMI inputs and many analog inputs. Analog inputs produces better sound to me and the bass response is much better.
  • Two HDMI connectors were not working, which was very frustrating and made me return the receiver back.
