Perfect Pots and Pans for Your Induction Cooktop

It is known that induction cooktops heat the cookware made of ferromagnetic. If you do not have such pots and pans in your kitchen, it is time to get them! There are several things to bear in mind. It is recommended to choose cookware with an even and smooth bottom, minimum 0.07" thick. In addition, it should have a diameter of at least 4.5" to provide a sufficient contact area with the induction hob. As for materials, the most common ones are stainless steel and cast iron. The first one is oxidation-proof and allows preparing the healthiest meals. Induction hobs also heat cast iron cookware. This material is rather heavy. However, it ensures an even heat distribution and helps maintain the temperature. To make your choice easier, manufacturers usually mark induction-compatible vessels.

Cooking with the Secura induction cooktop is easy. It provides 15 power levels and a temperature range of 140° - 460°F which allows for cooking virtually all kinds of dishes. Furthermore, it has a digital timer so you can precisely follow a recipe with minimum effort. What it doesn't have is a thermometer (not like it has to be there, but still), so if you want to achieve brilliant results time and time again, we'd recommend you additionally acquire a cooking thermometer to check the readiness of your meals.

This one burner unit is lightweight and has a small footprint: it needs little space for storage and it doesn't take up much space on the countertop. Cuisinart ICT-60

Excellent Kitchen Helper

While single induction stovetops are the most compact, two burner models provide twice as much cooking space while being quite portable as well. The Cuisinart ICT-60 can be used in your RV or boat kitchen for hustle-free cooking two-course meals. Ideal for small cooking areas, it can also be a real saver in any kitchen, providing additional burners to prepare a variety of side dishes and dips for a party or family gathering. Since the appliance uses electromagnetism for transferring energy to your cookware, it gets heated very quickly and preparing foods does not take much time. Besides, this high-end induction cooktop emits less heat compared to conventional cookers and consumes a lot less energy (up to 70%). Plus, it automatically switches off in 30 seconds after a dish is done and you remove the cookware, which allows saving more on electricity bills and helps prevent risks of fire. Speaking of safety features, the Cuisinart ICT-60 has an overheating protection too.

Another benefit of the Cuisinart ICT-60 is that it's very low in maintenance. It has a smooth glass top so it is very easy to clean with a damp cloth; just remember to use mild non-abrasive soaps that don't ruin the glass finish. If kept properly, the Cuisinart ICT-60 will serve you a long time being a nice addition to the interior of your kitchen thanks to its stylish black and silver design.

Review of Cuisinart ICT-60 Double Induction Cooktop

Dual Settings for Ultimate Control

To ensure the most comfortable use, the Cuisinart induction stovetop has dual heat settings - both burners are individually controlled and have a separate On/Off switch, timer button, heat button, increase/decrease buttons with arrows, and an LCD display.

  • The left burner has eight heat settings: 1 is the lowest and 8 is the highest. To make adjustments, press the "Heat" button and then press buttons with arrows to select a higher/lower setting; the current one will be displayed on the screen. To activate a 150-minute timer, press the "Timer" button and then press buttons with arrows (press and hold for quicker adjustment). Please, note that at the end of the preset cooking time you will hear an audio signal, but the appliance will not turn off, so it's necessary that you stay near the appliance to manually switch it off. It's a bit of a shame and we wish the manufacturers would improve this, even though the stovetop's runtime is only 180 minutes: 30 minutes is still a long time.
  • The right burner has five modes, from low (1) to medium (5), and the principle of its operation is the same; as soon as you select the setting, the number will appear on the display.

As you can see, the Cuisinart induction stovetop is not difficult to use and it should be easy for anyone to cook meals just the way you like them, the more so if you use special kitchen scales for that.

What Is an Induction Cooktop?

Looking for a new cooker for your kitchen? Consider choosing an innovative energy-efficient induction cooktop! Conventional electric stoves have heating elements, induction cooktops work in a different way. They use magnetic induction to heat the cookware while the hob is heated only by the cookware on it. The main advantage of an induction stove top is efficiency. Your pots and pans are heated immediately and your meals are ready in no time, whereas common electrical and gas cookers emit a lot of heat. At the same time, induction cooktops are safe. The device turns on only when you place some cookware on it. As soon as you remove it, an induction stove top automatically turns off. However, this appliance has a peculiar feature. It will heat only those pans and pots that are made of ferromagnetic (e. g. stainless steel or cast iron). We have reviewed five best induction cooktops, so you can compare them and choose the one that fits you most.

If you love cooking complex and sophisticated dishes consisting of many different ingredients and often taking more than one hour to cook, you won't do without a good set of measuring cups and a digital kitchen scale.

What Features to Compare

Type

The first issue you should keep in mind while choosing an induction stovetop is its type - you can choose either a countertop or a built-in unit for your kitchen.

  • Countertop induction cooktops are usually equipped with one or two burners. They are lightweight and portable, so they are perfect for any small kitchen, RV, campsite, or a dormitory room. Just place the appliance on your countertop for the most convenient cooking. Moreover, portable induction stovetops can also be used when you need additional burners for cooking an assortment of dishes when preparing a party.
  • Built-in induction cooktops have higher power compared to countertop models; they are usually equipped with 3-6 burners of various sizes and shapes, which makes them a great alternative to conventional stovetops. However, built-in cooktops have larger dimensions, while a small kitchen requires a portable device.

Performance

The main feature that determines your chosen induction cooktop performance is a temperature range the unit provides. Multiple temperature modes will help you select the right one for preparing your favorite dishes. Some recipes require low-temperature cooking, others need a higher temperature, consider the appliance cooking temperature range and you will be able to choose the optimal device to meet your daily needs!

One more thing to keep in mind is the unit's power levels number. Most induction hobs have 10-15 power levels so it is easy to pick the one for your cooking task. Lower levels are perfect for keeping your meals warm and slow cooking, middle ones for stewing, and high ones for fast cooking.

Extras

Innovative appliances make our daily chores way easier; induction cooktops are often equipped with user-friendly features that make preparing foods as easy as it has never been before. An up-to-date digital control panel with an easy-to-read display will allow for a comfortable and intuitive operation of the unit. Some manufacturers provide their induction cooktops with ergonomic touch control panels that are both convenient to use and simple to clean.

To control the process of preparing meals, an induction cooktop can be equipped with a timer that makes an audible beeping signal and/or switches the unit off when your dish is ready. Thanks to an Auto Pan Detection feature, the appliance shuts off if there is no cookware on it for a certain period of time (usually for 60 seconds). Parents will appreciate a Child Lock System that won't let their kids use the device without adults' supervision.

Now, that we have given you tips on choosing the appliance, it is time to select the best induction cooktop for your needs!
