It takes all the 4k hdmi stuff and I used an external amp with it to add the rear height channels and get the full 11.2.
The title says 9.2 channel, but it's actually 11.2 channel once you add a single external stereo amplifier.
I've cranked it up to 70% and my walls are shaking. No sign of distortion or clipping at this point. That's probably as high as I will go for now.
This reciever cleans up the signals from everything you feed it and gives each speaker such a high quality clean powerful signal.
I intended on buying marantz amplifier to assure I got a clean distortion free signal. Because it has a fairly large % distortion.

This is a very nice unit. Took me a little longer than I would have liked to get setup.
Sound quality and picture quality from just standard blue ray is really nice.
With nine channels of good quality amplification. The SR7013 can deliver a decent amount of power to drive even the hardest speaker loads.
The SR7013 is also one of the most up to date AV Receivers on the market with advanced video switching and compatibility with all the current videos standards.
The distortion is incredibly large, which makes you buy a separate amplifier.

Pre outs for adding a dedicated amp to front channels (or to free up an amp to drive a couple more atmos speakers).
The Audyssey calibration system worked great. The thing that was the biggest pleasant surprise was a feature built into the HEOS app.
Good, if basic, smartphone app. I like the fact that as a plus it shows playback info in addition to playback/zone control.
Unitarian front panel is fine if you have a simple setup, but if you want to see more info then having to keep the front door open to see the screen defeats that sleek look.
Some quirks with using Audyssey smart app. I can't save changes made on the AVR itself to the app.

Watching a football game with the calibrated setting sounds hollow so you’ll need to adjust for sports programming.
Managing with the application is difficult and incomprehensible and also does not always recognize the voice.

The receiver also prompted me for connection to Apple devices for AirPlay. One click on the iPhone, and the receiver read all my WiFi information and configured itself.
Easy wireless connections and firmware updates. It does run on the hot side, so I added an AC Infinity Aircom fan, which automatically turns on when the temp rises.
Connects via HEOS to my Twonky Server w/o issues. Connections -including very nice Pre-Outs.
I also can not stream anything from the Ethernet port anymore. Front panel lights come on, but everything else is dead.
Only one of the two HDMI outputs will work at a time. Material quality isn't as good as my old Pioneer SC-27 AVR.

With 8 HDMI inputs and 3 outputs this AVR is fully compatible with the latest HDMI standards accepting a full 18Gbps 4K video signal at 4:4:4 60P and with BT2020 colour.
It is also full high dynamic range (HDR) support with HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision pass-through on all HDMI ports.
It can connect to bluetooth devices via built-in bluetooth adapter. The Receiver works with Amazon Alexa and supports AirPlay 2. Everything works responsive and amazing.
There are 7.1 multi-channel analog inputs and 11.2 channel analog pre-outs for external amplification.
One of the HDMI ports was not working, it did not recognize or transmit the image.
