The speed and quietness of this drive compared to a typical HDD are almost eerie for ordinary tasks on a laptop like booting Windows, loading a large document into MS Word, etc.
Great value SSD! Good enough to keep up with full DCI 4K 60FPS recordings in ProRes and DNxHR in my Atomos Ninja Inferno!
Easy to fit, I reinstalled Windows on this new drive. No problems, the PC is noticeably faster, and I have a bunch more space. Very happy with this!
The laptop still runs warm, so for me, can't comment on any difference between heat generated. I also can't comment on battery life differential as I'm generally plugged in.
The drive was great while it worked. It just disappeared from my 2010 iMac without any warning. The computer went to sleep mode and the drive failed during this time.

Great 500GB drive. Sadly, it appears to be mislabeled as 1TB. Everything works fine until I hit the 500GB limit and then the drive refuses to write. Keep under 500GB, and it works fine.
