What customers say about "Key Specs"
Crucial BX100 500GB SATA III MLC Internal SSD (CT500BX100SSD1)
  • Wow, that validates all of the other reviews I've been reading about this drive. Great performance, great value, and no TLC NAND worries. I'm getting one for my new laptop.
  • BX100 250GB running excellent on an old SATA 2 motherboard based C2D Hackintosh, the boot speed is incredible and applications such as Logic open with little lag, which used to happen with previous HDD.
  • Given the problems I and many, many others have had with Crucial's MX100, I would not recommend anyone buy a Crucial SSD. Their firmware dev team are incompetent, no two ways about it
  • There have been power management problems with all of Crucial's SSD's since their C300 released years ago.
Crucial MX300 Solid State Drive
  • Can't beat this for it's speed and capacity at this price.
  • I bought a small capacity 275GB drive because I needed it to run software not store data. I use my old drive in an external drive bay for storage.
  • What a huge speed and performance improvement over the old HDD.. Truly amazed.
  • Since install it’s been an immediate and huge improvement with Read and write speeds 4x faster according to speed tests! Been working great and have no complaints. Would recommend!
  • The read and write speeds are more than satisfying. I am running this as an audio library drive for Kontakt and Maschine. Works excellent. No problems.
  • The only reason I gave this two stars, is that most people wouldn't actually see this performance drop. It's really specific to a large writes.

Crucial BX100 500GB SATA III MLC Internal SSD (CT500BX100SSD1)
  • I think it depends on the use. I would imagine that SSDs are going to transition to M.2 or embedded options as the primary interface. However, I think that SATA, even SATA3, has a very long life ahead as a traditional HDD interface for bulk storage.
  • Seems like the arguments in favor of the BX100 come down to: 1) Cheap 2) Fast enough 3) Crucial I'm okay with that.
  • I think the only real problem I have with the BX100 is ... believe it or not pricing. Here in Canada I've bought 4 of these drives but I've had to scour the net for price match deals to even come close to the MX100 which.. actually was 10-20% lower in costs.
Crucial MX300 Solid State Drive
  • This drive is somewhat lighter than the drive it replaced and the form factor is virtually identical.
  • I used it to upgrade an old laptop & the form factor was perfect. It fit the HD compartment exactly as it should.
  • Running it at Sata 3 GB/s & working smoothly so far.
  • These drives utilize Micron 3D-Nand technology and have extremely fast upload/download transfer rates. They are extremely reliable and are priced substantially lower than other manufacturers.
  • Acronis cloning was a bit of a pain. Took too much time to clone but after a 3 hours of troubleshooting I managed to clone my Windows 10 installation successfully.
