Quality on this Buck 102 is top notch. No gaps or flaws, razor sharp. The 4" blade makes for easy and legal carry where I live.
Smaller fixed blade knife that is great. As for the people who complained about how small it is you should know what you are buying first and not complain. This is a superb product
Obviously a longer blade could split larger billets but weighs more and takes up more space in pack. This size is perfect for me.
A great knife to take camping, hunting, or fishing. It's one of the few fixed blades I have. The blade is long and slender, but not fragile.
Good size fixed blade doesn't attract to much attention when you wear it around.

This knife is absolutely perfect. Great blade, handle and design are very classic and beautifu.
The blade was pretty sharp out of the box and touched up easily or a final edge with a extra fine diamond "stone" and honing steel.
The blade came very sharp and so far has held up well.
Blade is stainless and that makes it easier to care for. Buck has the heat treat on this steel perfected, you get a tough blade that holds an edge well.
The 5" has a much slimmer blade, so weights less and much more practice for normal use.

It feels good in my hand. As others have noted, it will work for cleaning small game. And it works as a light-weight, all-purpose, emergency knife.
Size and weight are a concern so this size is a nice compromise.

Great shape for big game hunting, light weight, sturdy sheath that snaps the knife securely in place, gorgeous craftsmanship.
The clip-point blade profile was perfect for both gutting and skinning, and I think the blade length is the perfect balance in regards to amount of working edge and control-ability.
It is well-balanced and extremely comfortable to hold.
It's perfectly balanced for all hand sizes and tasks. A real buck classic that will last forever.
The black plastic handle is light, which is a slight turnoff for me as I like the balance to be in my hand.

The leather sheath is good quality and keeps your blade safe.
As far as plastic handles go, this one's solid, but I can't deny I love the feel of a solid wood handle on my sheath knives.
It'is a Buck, it's, and the handle is beautiful - actually it so beautiful that you will want to display it instead of use it.
It has an unusually good leather sheath with great detail and the knife itself sparkles.
The leather sheath is made in Mexico but still good quality.

Even though the handle is smooth its shape gives good purchase and there is no sensation of slipping or sliding.
Good size for a hunting knife. One of its best features is the smooth handle which cleans up very easily.
Amazing quality and feel in your hand.
Beautiful craftsmanship and design.
The black leather sheath is flawless - the size, fit, hold, attractiveness, smell, sturdiness all leave nothing to be desired.
