What customers say about "Key Specs"
Deuter Transit 40 Carry-On Travel Backpack
  • This is an attractive, well made backpack. Hip belt, carry strap and harness are all nice. This great design appears that it will be very functional for an upcoming overseas trip.
  • This is a high quality pack. Very nicely designed, attention to detail, high quality stitching and materials throughout, ykk zippers, solid buckles and straps.
  • There are two interior, aluminum stays that can be adjusted to best fit to the contour of your back. It`s nice!
  • Wouldn't mind a couple of smaller outside pockets on the sides and some loops to attach things to. But not a big deal.
Osprey Farpoint 40 Travel Backpack
  • The front panel opening makes these bags easy to pack, and the hip belts are beefy enough to comfortably support the load.
  • This was really easy and so comfortable, even fully packed and walking in towns. No problem stowing it overhead on airplanes.
  • I love the functionality of this backpack and it's a great carry on size for flights. Love this bag and highly recommended for traveling. Great size you can fit a lot of stuff in this bag!
  • Padded handles are comfortable enough for quick carries, and used the super-comfortable backpack straps the majority of the time.
  • This is a great bag. It has fit on all airlines as a carry-on, never had issues in that regard. The bag opens up very wide, and is easy to pack.
  • The only downside we saw was that the material on the back keeps you pretty warm and sweaty backs are frequent- but I think that's true of most packs.

Deuter Transit 40 Carry-On Travel Backpack
  • This is an attractive, well made backpack. Hip belt, carry strap and harness are all nice. This great design appears that it will be very functional for an upcoming overseas trip.
  • I didn't think I would like the zip up compartment for the straps but, great for storing when not in use(and if you had to check your bag for whatever reason.)
  • I like the outside zip for quick access of passports/etc. I like the versatility of having a backpack or a shoulder bag. Backpack straps hide-away so they don’t snag in overhead compartments.
  • My 15" MacBook Pro fits easily in the lap top compartment, is well padded and suspended. The outside pocket easily fits chargers, an iPad, iPod, pens etc.
  • This bag has been great for trips as long as a week. The only thing I would improve is the depth/size of the water bottle pocket.
Osprey Farpoint 40 Travel Backpack
  • The pack straps provide good support and stow away neatly under a zipped flap so they don't get caught on stuff when boarding and going through security.
  • I wanted a good chest and hip belt system that was easy to protect on the plane. I wanted a front loading bag with full access. This bag has all these features.
  • I like that the whole compartment zips open making the contents more accessible without having to dig through everything each time.
  • The compression straps, suitcase handle, duffle bag loops, and backpack straps are all great. Opening like a suitcase is a huge benefit too!
  • This pack has really nice straps and hip belt which help ease the load. They also tuck away which is a nice feature. Also includes a shoulder strap.
  • The only complaint is that the laptop pouch is not heavily padded, and just seems as though it may bend the laptop if the bag were to be too full.
