About the Product
The Polk Audio TSi400 floorstanding speaker is the midrange tower speaker in the TSi series with three 5.25-inch woofers resulting in higher power handling and more bass capacity. It's great for high impact movies and music. Its affordable price and small footprint means they can be used as the front channels in a home theater system or as the main speakers in a music system.
It is quite tall and stylishly narrow. It is fairly heavy; built of braced MDF with a beautiful furniture finish. Its transducer components are designed and engineered in the same way as those of speakers costing twice or even three times as much as this modest loudspeaker.

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Polk Audio TSi400 Floorstanding Speaker (Single, Black)
  • The cabinet finish is flawless - typical of Polk. Give them a try - I think you'll be impressed with how good a modestly priced speaker can sound.
  • They are extremely beautiful to look at. They have shiny, black plastic tops that have a mirror-like finish. As a piece of furniture, they are first-class.
  • The shape of these speakers is a rectangular prism measuring seven inches wide, fourteen deep and standing thirty-eight and three-quarters tall. They come in two colors, black and cherry. These speakers are very handsome with a black textured surface on the sides with a glassy solid top.
  • The room where they are installed is approximately 15 by 20 feet with several pieces of upholstered furniture.. My first impression when listening to these speakers was that there was more music.
  • Excellent projection. Very attractive and we didn't have to cut a hole in the wall. Nice size too. Don't need to worry about tipping (good weight). Would definitely recommend.
Polk Audio TSi500 Floorstanding Speaker (Single, Black)
  • Speakers (in Cherry) look beautiful on the wood floor, although they do have a pretty good sized footprint.
  • Just the right size to sit next to a big LCD Screen on a regular TV Stand.
  • Fairly large footprint
  • They are large, and I wonder if that makes them more prone to damage in shipping.

What customers say about "Audio"
Polk Audio TSi400 Floorstanding Speaker (Single, Black)
  • A lot of speaker for the dollar. I like the natural sound - no heavy bass or excessively brilliant highs.
  • The Polk TSi400s are very efficient - this is especially important for those of us with relatively low powered vacuum tube amplifiers. A 30W amplifier will do nicely with these speakers in an average sized room.
  • I've driven them with an older Harman Kardon amp and a newer SMSL amp without any problems.
  • The TSi400 have a one inch tweeter and three five and one-quarter inch mid range/woofers. To my ear, the sound produced was clear and crisp at all ranges.
  • One common complaint of tower speakers is that they require a high power level. The A-V receiver has a rating of 95 watts per channel. This was adequate to create a comfortable listening level using only 20 to 30 percent of power.
  • The overall sound is dead. It is too dry and has no resonance.
Polk Audio TSi500 Floorstanding Speaker (Single, Black)
  • Am still calibrating to get just the perfect sound, but will suggest that I get excellent response in all ranges and the ability to really bring out the volume when watching action scenes.
  • Absolutely Zero Distortion when turned up extremely loud (with the Yamaha RX-A1000 Receiver connected through Bi-Amp). Crystal Clear Bright Highs, and Deep Tight Bass.
  • Clear, distinct, solid across all frequencies, even the low end.
  • The sound is extremely natural, bass is well defined and the mid-range is as smooth as silk
  • Even after the Yamaha automatic speaker adjustments (with a microphone) everything sounds just a little thin in the upper midrange sometimes. Not sharp at all. Just a little thin and crisp.

What customers say about "Features"
Polk Audio TSi400 Floorstanding Speaker (Single, Black)
  • No grit my teeth steely overtones common to many much more expensive speakers. Very clear voices for choral music too. Just enough bass to matter. - these are not speakers for heavy metal blastophiles.
  • These speakers are perfect for the baroque period of classical music I enjoy. Violins and other bowed string instruments sound like they should (with a good quality recording).
  • I bought a pair of these in late 2013 (when they were priced nearly twice what they are now), and since then, I have been nothing but impressed with them. The sound is awesome, from low-level, morning jazz sounds to full-on cranked 70's rock, and they look great in my living room.
  • The Polk Audio TSi400 is an excellent tower speaker at a very reasonable price which can be used without depending on a sub-woofer. They fit comfortably into small and medium sized rooms and provide a quality listening experience.
  • I'm using these as part of a 5.1 surround system and also for regular music listening. Love them, would buy again.
  • The speakers do not have a bass port. Whether this has any impact on the bass sound they produce is unknown.
Polk Audio TSi500 Floorstanding Speaker (Single, Black)
  • Stunningly Beautiful with Grille off, and match the Center Speaker perfectly.
  • Big Feet for Carpeting or Hard Floors.
  • When the front grilles were removed and the four 6.5" drivers were exposed, the speakers become even more visually impressive. Mine are the Cherry wood finish and they are beautiful!
  • The matching cherry finish on the system is drop dead sexy! Nice touch with the glossy piano finish top plates also. It really sets off a nice room and makes everything look more high end. It's nice to have the choice of leaving the black speaker grills in place or removing them
  • Only thing I had to do was use a bit of sorbothane to decouple them from the hardwood. The rubber feet are a bit to hard for that task.
