Stinger BKC90

Portable Bug Killer

It’s not easy to keep moths away outside even with lights luring the bugs away from you. If you really want to get rid of annoying insects, you might just have to take advantage of the Stinger BKC90 zapper.

This model has a built-in hook that simplifies its placement. You can mount the zapper on the ceiling or hang it on a tree or a special wall socket. Moreover, the hook is made of rustproof metal and thus won’t be affected by the elements. Leave the zapper outside as long as you want, the device won’t be damaged at all.

One thing about the Stinger BKC90 bug lights that we did find a bit disappointing is the pretty low coverage area. While you don’t necessarily need the zapper to lure bugs from all over the neighborhood, the 0.01-acre radius isn’t that impressive and it depends wholly on the octenol lure, which isn’t used to its full potential as it’s stuffed inside the insect tray.

We do, however, love the fact that the Stinger zapper works on a rechargeable battery, which makes it completely wireless. Thanks to that, you can take the Stinger BKC90 with you when you go camping or drive out to a cabin in the woods. One charge is enough for up to 3.5 hours, a whole evening of bug-free relaxation in nature!

In the end, the Stinger BKC90 may not be the most powerful among other models but it’s certainly the best cordless bug zapper when it comes to efficiency and it is one of the few models that’ll be useful out in the wild. Perfect choice for happy campers!

Miady Camping

A Perfect Camper Model

Right off the bat, the Miady Camping cordless bug zapper features a capacious battery of 4000 mAh, which can last at least for a few days before it will need to be recharged.

The main perk of this fly killer model is, certainly, its powerful light bulb that produces UV rays. The bulb is tuned to a 365 nm wavelength that mimics the radiation from a human body, which makes it highly attractive for blood-sucking insects.

What is handy, this battery operated fly killer can be either plugged into a regular power outlet or recharged from a standard car lighter port, which makes it great for long camping trips in your vehicle.

The combination of the powerful light and even more powerful electrified grid allows for using the device effectively in the radius of 500 feet. And what is notable, the non-toxic construction makes it eco-friendly and non-harmful to other insects like bees, for example.

The maintenance of the device is quite simple and only requires you to periodically remove the insect tray for washing. Other than that, there are no parts that require regular cleaning, making it a great model for both home use and campsites.

All in all, the Miady rechargeable mosquito zapper will be a good pick in case you are looking for a device that is small but strong enough to kill mosquitoes in the wild.

ENKEEO 213434001

A Lamp and a Killer

The ENKEEO 213434001 (really rolls off the tongue, wouldn't you say?) incorporates that classic camping lantern design with a modern take on the old formula. That modern take being the addition of a bug (mostly mosquito) zapper. Featuring a 360nm - 400nm ultraviolet light, the device offers you a 16 x 16 foot mosquito-free zone.

Now, we really like it, from price to functionality, but it's not like the product is without its flaws. Its coverage area is limited to a 256 square feet radius. Though it is suitable both for indoor and outdoor use, the model could definitely use some improvement in the coverage department. Some also find the dead insect container a little too small but that's more of a preference thing than anything else.

The advantages of this mosquito killer are numerous. It comes with a retractable hook, removable lampshade, and a plastic cage, all to protect you from touching the surprisingly dangerous inner wiring. The IPX6 rating makes the model's exterior highly waterproof. You can put it in your backyard without worrying about the weather conditions. Plus, it is perfectly possible to clean it under running tap water.

The device comes with a built-in rechargeable battery that can either give you 20 hours of runtime using the lantern-only setting (low light, ≥ 30 lumen) or 15 hours with the zapper-only feature.

In short, the ENKEEO 213434001 is great both as a lantern and a mosquito zapper. It weighs less than half a pound, so you can always bring it with you on a camping trip. The price is reasonable and the controls are really helpful.

Black Flag ZR-7936

Minimum Effort, Maximum Kill

The Black Flag ZR-7936 is a functional and, for the most part, effective fly-killing tool. That "for the most part" remark is really only there because the voltage that runs through the electrified zinc steel grill is relatively limited.

Don't get us wrong, 2750 volts will prove more than enough to kill mosquitoes, biting flies, most spiders, yellow jackets, and even wasps with their poisonous stringers. But, with aphids and a few other insects, it might take an extra swing or two to finish the pest off. Not a dealbreaker, of course, but something that the people behind this line will hopefully improve upon in the next model.

Other than that, this is as practical and capable fly killer as the rest of them. Incorporating many smaller steel wires positioned athwart (in a perpendicular fashion), the racket allows you to catch and hit even the tiniest insects like gnats and smaller mosquitoes.

But what really sells the product is the size. The whole thing is 19.25 inches long, so you're going to have a solid reach. More importantly, the zapping section adds up to 8.6 x 7.2 inches, so you'll hardly have to aim at all. Equipped with a nice little hanging hook, it won't present any challenges and/or inconveniences on the storage front either.

In short, the Black Flag ZR-7936 battery powered bug zapper racket won't always allow you to kill every single insect in one swing but it will make the otherwise inconvenient and tedious task of hunting flies and other buzzing little monstrosities as effortless and minimally strenuous as possible.

GreenLighting Solar Powered

No Electricity!

Looking for the most environmentally and economically friendly way to reduce mosquitoes and other flying nasties? If so, you may want to consider the UV LED fly zapper lantern by GreenLighting.

It's a unique product that uses a 1200-V grid to kill insects on contact but doesn't necessarily require electricity. The thing is that it's fitted with a 2600 mAh battery that is charged by the solar panel on the top of the unit. On a full charge, the unit can attract and trap mosquitoes for 15 hours continuously. It's worth emphasizing that the manufacturer also provides a wall charger with the purchase, which is a quite handy addition for cloudy days.

Another perk of this insect killer is that it can be used as a normal decorative lantern. It's featured with 8 LEDs that shed cool-looking blue light. And what is great, the lantern can provide illumination where you need it most - the lamp comes with both the top handle and the ground stake allowing you to hang it from tree branches or plant the lantern somewhere in your yard.

The only thing you may dislike about this solar-powered product is that it comes on at dusk only. So, it won't be able to kill flies and other insects throughout a day.

Designed to be versatile and portable, the GreenLighting zapper can come useful in a variety of situations. It's an ideal option to install in your backyard or take on the campsite. With it, you won't be tied to outlets.

What Is a Cordless Bug Zapper?

Among different things that can ruin your day, insect bites are the most annoying ones. Although there are quite a lot of stationary bug killers on the market, cordless devices are the only solution when it comes to eliminating flying pests in the wild.

Most of the battery-operated fly killers utilize an electrified grid with high output voltage in order to zap nasty insects. However, there are also some devices that may use other methods of killing pests. Depending on your needs, you can choose models with built-in batteries or pick a handheld fly swatter.

However, if you are searching for more powerful insect killing devices, we also recommend you take a closer look at the top indoor bug zappers or outdoor bug zappers that can effectively protect your house and back yard from annoying pests. And if you need to protect your property from pesky rodents like snakes, slugs, moles, voles, or rats, you may be interested in getting a good snake repellent.
