I have the two unit kit and it easily covers my home with clear signal throughout.
The only real advantage here is having a "single network" over a wide area, which is very convenient if you're running a lot of Wi-Fi devices for a smart home.
I love that this system has many configuration options available for the end user, other than simply enabling/disabling DHCP.
The one thing is that each node only reaches between two rooms. I was lucky that this was enough to address my needs.
It really has a lot of advanced options that I was looking for. But, it still could not cover the whole house.

Velop is small! Smaller than you can tell from pictures; it’s light weight, looks great and is very unobtrusive.
The wiring snakes securely out the bottom of each tower and hides easily behind them.
Decent quality and lightweight, highly recommended!
The unit is very light and small with no antenna outside, unlike the massive antennas on ASUS RT‑AC3200.
Excellent wifi connectivity, small and easy to set up.

All the major mesh systems also promise automated updates/upgrades of your system to add functionality and reliability.
The unit automatically update when new firmware is available so I don't need to worry about new security updates.
Jump between nodes is seamless and I do like the fact that it switches between 2.4 and 5Ghz bands with a single SSID.
No love for 2.4GHz devices without some tweaking. None of my 2.4GHz-only smart home devices were able to connect to the Velop right away.
The Guest network cannot have its 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands separate into two SSIDs. There's a single SSID for both.

I bought the one with two nodes. It has made a big difference in how my wifi connects to other things like tv's and laptops, cell phones.
The only way to administer the system is remotely through the Linksys mobile app.
It is very important that I have all control over my network and I love my privacy.
The range and speed is excellent, the app works very well for configuration and monitoring.
One problem is clearly the app; it kept freezing on my iPhone and required reboots (although while it worked it was fine)
