The bezel is not only a nice decorative element but also a convenient way to navigate through apps and settings. It allows you to make calls, accept notifications, scroll through screens, lists, apps, etc. Thanks to the "Always On Display" feature, you'll always have the "main" screen lit up so that you can get all the information you need.
It lacks some useful apps.

Amazfit Bip is all about its features. It doesn't look as good as some of the other models. But it has them not just beat but demolished and utterly destroyed when it comes to battery life and the price-performance ratio. For the price of a fitness tracker, you'll get yourself a proper smart watch.

Samsung Gear S3 Frontier (SM-R760NDAAXAR)
Inspire the Future
Samsung is a brand name anyone more or less acquainted with gadgets and electronics knows fairly well. It's a brand name that always speaks of innovation, multifunctionality, and quality. The Samsung Vision 2020 slogan is "Inspire the World, Create the Future" and the future they do create with the Gear S3 Android smart watches for men.
The classic model is classy. Leather band, steel bezel, and 1.3" Super AMOLED display look premium and will add greatly to your business image. It is not a cheap watch however you look but its appearance and functionality are worth every dollar you pay for it.
The basic smart watch features are, of course, present: you can now leave your smartphone in your briefcase and read your texts, emails, notifications from the display of your watch; making and receiving calls as well, owing to the built-in mic and speaker. This smart watch features a complete set of wireless connectivity options, from Bluetooth to Wi-Fi and NFC. The latter will allow you to use the Samsung Pay feature and pay for your purchases by touching the watch to the paying terminal; it is very convenient when you don't have your wallet or smartphone, for example, if you need water during your morning jog or when you're on the beach. Other than that, the gadget also comes equipped with GPS Glonass, so you won't ever manage to get lost while wearing this watch.
Being a Samsung model, this Android men's watch has the S Health app installed and can work as your fitness tracker, supporting all the necessary functions like accurate sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, and steps count. Everything you have in your smartphone's S Health is available here, including goals and comparisons with other participants from all around the world.
The GPS will always know your location—to follow how much you've walked or run as well as to share it with other people if you need.
The watch is extremely easy to control, most of the time you will only need to turn the bezel to find that feature or another. And it can go on for days on a single charge. When it can't, put it on a wireless charger for a bit and it's ready to go again.
What customers say about this product
Huawei Watch 2 Classic
Sports and Business
Huawei Watch 2 is as much a functional gadget as it is a sleek accessory. The model comes with that classic interchangeable leather strap that gives the device a much more dignified look. Clearly, the idea behind it was to bring a touch of class to these modern electronics and we would say that the people at Huawei have done a pretty good job at that. That is especially the case if you choose to go with the Activity watch face that incorporates that classic look of a regular watch.
But they didn't have just the visual part in mind when they were designing the watch and the band. With the latter, the manufacturers used a two-layer strap, incorporating a leather outer and a rubber inner. This way, you get a combination of business with that classic aesthetic and sports with the comfortable touch of rubber.
As a gadget and a piece of electronics, the model is packed to the rafters with functions and features, so much so that we couldn't even hope to cover them all. But we will do our best to highlight some of the more important ones.
We've mentioned earlier that the smart watch is as much about sports as it is about style. Aside from the comfortable fit, the model incorporates a variety of workout functions. Aside from the usual bunch, including the heart rate monitor, all of the activity tracking capabilities, and loads of other functions, the gadget comes equipped with a real-time coaching feature.
From it, you will get live, real-time guidance. It will give you a variety of workout data like the recovery time and maximum Vo2. The feature will help you evaluate your performance and streamline the recovery process. With it, you'll be able to get much closer to achieving your fitness goals.
The Speed to Compete
One of the things we liked most about this model is the Smart Assistance. Feature-wise, it doesn't differ that much from your usual package. You get the ability to receive on-screen notifications that will show your calls and texts, as well as a variety of other applications that you deem more necessary than others.
But the way it is all organized, with an intuitive interface that doesn't clutter your interface with a whole bunch of unnecessary information and data makes the model a lot more pleasant to work with.
Again, it isn't unique to this gadget, but making payments with the Android Pay using the NFC technology will be considerably more convenient and easier compared to most other smart watches.
Other than that, the scientific sleep tracking is superb at what it does. Keeping track of light, deep, and REM sleep stages, this feature will allow you to truly rest during the nighttime.
In short, we were really impressed with Huawei Watch 2. Every basic feature is there but it is optimized in a way that streamlines your interaction with the watch. On top of that, the model's quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 2100 processor is as fast as it gets, so you'll be able to juggle a variety of apps and keep yourself as busy as you want.

Fitbit Versa (816137029025)
Everything You Need at a Reasonable Price
The Fitbit Versa looks pretty simple with its square dial and silicone band. Looking at it, you may first think it's just a fitness tracker. However, the looks may be deceiving and we actually hold a device packed with impressive features.
Of course, tracking your heart rate during the day and as you sleep, as well as counting calories you lose, step count, the distance you've walked, the floors you've climbed and more—all the features of a very sophisticated fitness tracker are right here. With the SmartTrack™ app, you will have the selection of up to 15 exercise modes, during which you will receive your stats and summaries in real time. It can be submerged as well, up to 50 meters deep, a feature no always present in more expensive models, so tracking your body during a swim is perfectly possible. But workout and fitness features are not all there is.
It's All There
It is a smart watch, after all, and no one would call it that if there weren't any of the "basic" features: making and receiving phone calls, getting notifications, texting. The special edition has an NFC functionality so you can pay with a watch without having to take out your cards.
Each of these Android smart watches for men and women can also store and play over 300 songs on its own; no need for an mp3 player or smartphone, just pair it with Bluetooth headphones and enjoy music without any wires.
Amazfit Bip (A1608)
Light but Rugged
The people behind Amazfit Bip claim that their gadget is designed in a way that will allow it to be an extension of your personal style. But we can't say that we're buying that. It's not that it looks bad. It's just the design is a bit bland, so it really doesn't give you much to work with.
In terms of style that is. As far as all of the other aspects of this model are concerned, the watch is really impressive. And if you take into account the affordable price tag that it comes with, the gadget is nothing short of a steal.
First things first, the whole thing weighs no more than 1.1 ounces (about 32 grams), so you won't even notice it's there. Add to that the IP68 certification of this model and you can do whatever you want without having to take the watch off. You can dive pretty deep underwater and it won't affect the watch's performance one bit. And it is just as good at deflecting dust.
The display may seem a bit uninspired but that is only because the manufacturers were willing to sacrifice the looks in favor of practicality and performance. And we can't say that we disagree with this decision. The display is really bright. It is also transflective, making it equally effective under the sun. And, of course, its touchscreen properties do not compromise the compact size and make it fairly easy to navigate the abundant menu full of useful features.
Tracker's Price, Smartwatch's Functionality
With the smart watches from Amazfit, you won't miss a beat. Both the optical heart rate sensor and the GPS will allow you to effortlessly track the steps that you've taken, the distance that you've traveled, all of the calories that you've burned, as well as the quality of sleep that you've been able to enjoy lately.
Of course, you'll get most of that from a simple fitness tracker. But those won't give you 4 special sports modes (walking, cycling, treadmill, running). Using these modes, you will be able to exploit a much more detailed insight into these fitness activities. There are also your usual daily goal achievements.
The gadget in question costs about as much as a fitness tracker and far less than your average smart watch. Nevertheless, it gives you all of the usual functions that you would think are reserved for some of the more expensive models.
The device will notify you the moment you receive an email or an SMS message. It will alert you of an incoming phone call. It works with all of the popular messengers and social networks like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, and a bunch more. You'll get weather reports. You'll be able to utilize the usual alarm clock, timer, and stopwatch functions.
Having said all of that, the biggest selling point of Amazfit Bip has to be the battery life. Where most companies usually clutter their smart watches with bulky interface solutions and unnecessary junk that eats batteries like a child eats Halloween candy, the engineers behind this model didn't mind to sacrifice all of it for battery life. Thanks to this approach, you will get about a month of regular use from a single charge and an extra couple of weeks if you set your notifications to a minimum.
Again, Amazfit Bip is all about functionality. It doesn't look as good as some of the other models. But it has them not just beat but demolished and utterly destroyed when it comes to battery life and the price-performance ratio. For the price of a fitness tracker, you'll be able to get yourself a proper smart watch.
Fossil Q (FTW4004)
A Touch of Elegance
When you look at Fossil Q, the first word that comes to mind is luxury. That or a bunch of similar synonyms like fancy, sleek, posh, or swanky. Honestly, for a smartwatch, this thing looks fantastic. Don't get us wrong, we liked smartwatches. But they usually look more like a high-tech novelty than a stylish accessory. And there's nothing wrong with that. But there's just something attractive about a piece of technology that looks more elegant and dignified than a remote control for your TV.
Fortunately, that's not a problem with Fossil Q. The blue-plated stainless steel case is as robust as it is aesthetically pleasing. The silver-tone bezel is largely responsible for giving the model that elegant and refined look that we've just been talking about. Finally, the last piece of the puzzle and the icing on top of an already chic cake is a genuine brown leather band. Sure, it won't fit your running suit, but it looks just as good with a casual attire as it does with more of a formal ensemble.
The stainless steel case speaks for itself, you can't be a fragile gadget with a case like that. But the model also complies with the IP67 code. So you won't have to worry about dust. You won't have to take the watch off when you go into the shower. You won't be able to deep dive wearing this thing but, other than that, it won't restrict your movements whatsoever.
Lots of Ways to Apply It
Of course, this is a smart watch, so you won't be able to compete with looks alone. It may give you an edge over your competition but you won't be able to go far without functionality and practicality backing those looks up.
As far as functionality is concerned, we would say most people will be satisfied with this gadget. It doesn't incorporate a bunch of sports modes but, again, this isn't a model for fitness enthusiasts, so you can't really hold it against the watch. You will get, however, the usual arrangement of activity tracking functions, including steps, distance, and calory count.
You'll also be able to set custom goals, so if you really want to, you could get a lot out of this gadget fitness-wise. The alarm settings are really convenient and so is the ability to control music and other apps. Add to that the LED flashlight and the ability to view multiple time zones and you have yourself a truly functional gadget.
Speaking of control, the best thing about this model, aside from its aesthetically pleasing design, is definitely the model's flexibility of use. The 1.8-inch touchscreen is really easy to navigate. The watch comes equipped with 3 dials that you can customize the way you see fit. On top of that, it supports the usual Android voice-activated Google search, a feature that a lot of smart watches are unfortunately lacking.
To sum it up, we would like to bring back our earlier point and say that Fossil Q is easily the best option on the market for people who value looks as much as they value functionality and practicality. The model comes equipped with an array of features but it is the elegant design that sets it apart from most of its peers.
What Is a Smart Watch?
A smartwatch is a well-designed computerized wristwatch with a great number of useful features. Nowadays, the best smartwatches function as portable media players, providing audio and video playback to a user via Bluetooth earphones. These models are often called 'watch phones'. They feature full cell phone capabilities, and can easily make or answer phone calls. Besides, this gadget can connect to Android or iOS devices and run many popular mobile apps. It can also be used as a navigator, a portable media player, a fitness tracker or even a messenger.
If you are in search of a decent high-performing smartphone as well, make sure to read the review of the best iPhone models.
What Features to Compare
When choosing a smartwatch, we recommend you to pay attention to their design. If you think that all the important parts are hidden inside a housing you are quite wrong. Find out everything about the material and display characteristics first hand. Most watches are made of plastic, but some of them are made of metal - these are more durable, of course. Also, the displays are different - some of them are monochrome but the vast majority of smart watches have color LCD screens that give a fantastic image quality.
The next step to make is to consider the functions every smartwatch has. You must know precisely what devices a smart watch is compatible with in order not to waste your money. Also, check what tasks a watch can cope with. A decent item worth buying should be able to manage SMS and calls, to let you browse the Internet, to use some popular apps (like iTunes on Apple devices, for example), and so on. Some smart watches can even guide you to the place you're going to (in case navigation is supported). Also, the best smartwatches can be used as fitness trackers - they will measure your heart rate, body temperature, and so on.
Watch is worn on the wrist and that's why it's prone to be damaged, particularly if you're doing some sports. That's why a good smart watch has to ensure the high level of protection. First of all, a good smartwatch must be either water-resistant or waterproof, so that you can swim and even dive without taking the watch off your wrist. Also, some models boast special glass coating (Gorilla Glass, for instance).
Finally, you must remember to check the battery life of every smart watch. These gadgets are small which means they have quite low-capacity batteries. And you wouldn't like to recharge the watch every day, would you? That's why you'd better choose a gadget that will work for 1-2 days without a recharge. That's why some companies use e-Paper displays on their smart watches - these have a low energy consumption and give you up to 5-7 days of non-stop operation; of course, there's a drawback of e-Paper screens - they are monochrome and have a slower response time.
