General Specifications
About the Product
The Kenda K838 City Slick tire is designed for increased speed and low rolling resistance for mountain and hybrid bikes. The grooved tread channels water to the outer edge of the tire to maintain a grip on wet roads, through puddles, and on wet trails. While not meant for extreme off road or trail riding, the K838 is great for riders seeking a smooth and fast experience on the road and light-duty trail use.
Big Apple got a brother. The comfort is the same, but the profile and the optics are clearly focused. The design was so good that we have also made it in a “normal” tire size. Because a 40 mm tire width is not so “big”, it is called Little Big Ben.

What customers say about "Key Specs"
Kenda K838 City Slick Mountain Tire , Black,26x1.95" Pair
  • They provide a nice roll and have increased my average speed about 2mph and my avg ride distance by 5-6 miles.
  • These tires deflect less with a load and roll much easier. Makes the old bike feel like a racer.
  • I use them on the street, gravel and paved paths, and am satisfied with their versatility and wear.
  • Have about 300 miles thus far and no signs of premature wear.
  • Really nice smooth tire. Runs so quite on the road.
Schwalbe Big Ben (11100557) Race Guard Wired Tire
  • I'm really happy with these tires. Tough, quiet, smooth. Met all of my criteria.
  • These wheels provided less rolling resistance than my old mtb tires and are really comfortable.
  • Shockingly good offroad grip and useful balloon suspension for a rigid bike.
  • These new tires are much quieter and have less rolling resistance.
  • I run these on my Townie ebike conversion. No flats or issues yet. Super cushy ride and speed rated.

What customers say about "Features"
Kenda K838 City Slick Mountain Tire , Black,26x1.95" Pair
  • They stick to damp pavement like glue and carve around dry (paved) corners like no knobby can.
  • Very sticky on high speed sweeping turns. Great handling, better braking, all around good tire.
  • Have put 400 miles and the tires are doing great! Very sticky on high speed sweeping turns. Great handling, better braking, all around good tire.
  • The tread is a good design to give some grip and channel water effectively while still overall a slick design.
  • Great grip on wet pavement . Smooth ride.
Schwalbe Big Ben (11100557) Race Guard Wired Tire
  • I am very please with these tires. They ride fast and are comfortable. Has totally transformed my ride.
  • Easy to install took me 10 minutes for both tires.
  • The grip is excellent in all conditions so far; it is stable and docile, even on wet roads; they're quiet and very comfortable.
  • 3,500 miles in and the front tire has had no flats, ever.
  • They had good grip, nice size for city streets and looked cool, but I do a lot of urban riding and end up with a fair amount of sharp stops and I was down to cords within 300 miles.
