About the Product

Big Apple got a brother. The comfort is the same, but the profile and the optics are clearly focused. The design was so good that we have also made it in a “normal” tire size. Because a 40 mm tire width is not so “big”, it is called Little Big Ben.

Pronounced 'cross king', the X-King perfectly fills the gap between our Race King and Mountain King II in terms of application. It was developed in conjunction with the Topeak-Ergon professional MTB team who have now recorded numerous race wins on what they call the 'perfect race day tire'.

I'm really happy with these tires. Tough, quiet, smooth. Met all of my criteria.
These wheels provided less rolling resistance than my old mtb tires and are really comfortable.
Shockingly good offroad grip and useful balloon suspension for a rigid bike.
These new tires are much quieter and have less rolling resistance.
I run these on my Townie ebike conversion. No flats or issues yet. Super cushy ride and speed rated.

Wish I could give 6 stars. Tires are stylish, which shouldn't matter but somehow does, well packaged, easy to install, grip extremely well and are significantly lighter than my stock Trek Bontragers.
A solid but lightweight tire for serious riders who do not want to get punctures.
These are rock solid though. I did a race last weekend at Snowbird, UT where there were lots of sharp and loose rocks, in addition to roots, and I had no issues.
Great cornering and super thick side wall, so low pressure is not a problem. I think I could ride on it without air, since they are so bomb proof.
Great tires! Tough as nails and sidewall protection.

I am very please with these tires. They ride fast and are comfortable. Has totally transformed my ride.
Easy to install took me 10 minutes for both tires.
The grip is excellent in all conditions so far; it is stable and docile, even on wet roads; they're quiet and very comfortable.
3,500 miles in and the front tire has had no flats, ever.
They had good grip, nice size for city streets and looked cool, but I do a lot of urban riding and end up with a fair amount of sharp stops and I was down to cords within 300 miles.

Continental X-King (100524) Fold ProTection Bike Tire

The X-King is smoother and faster for average conditions and hard pack.
I like it for it's extremely strong construction. I ran it tubeless but tubeless is a pain unless you live on your bike and like changing out the tire fluid.
I've got over 100mi on these tires now and they are holding up well. They roll very fast and give good feedback.
If you're looking for a tire to help get you on the podium in any condition. This is it! It's what I use. I use a new set for racing.
Fast, tough, nimble and gripping. Total satisfaction.
