What customers say about "Key Specs"
ASUS ROG Strix X370-F GAMING AMD Ryzen AM4 DDR4 HDMI DisplayPort M.2 ATX X370 Motherboard with USB 3.1
  • Paired with a Ryzen 1600x. Successfully overclocked to 4ghz with G.skill ram operating at 3200mhz (14-14-14-34). Great board.
  • In bios Windows shows around 3.8Ghz. But in monitoring tools like HWinfo and CPU-Z, it is bugged to hell. Shows speeds of around 1.55Ghz. Actual benchmark results show performance reflects that of the CPU running at 1.55Ghz
  • This motherboard holds great promise of overclocking my Ryzen 1600X to 3.8 GHZ on all cores. I went with this board over the B350 because it offered more power phases ( 8+2) . In theory more power phases mean a cleaner power source to the processor.
  • Price. 2-way SLI and 3-way Crossfire support. EZ overclocking. M.2 SSD ready. AURA Sync. WOW! Great!
  • The bios compared to my old Gigabyte AM3 motherboard was much more intuative, xfr works like a dream, and after resetting the bios my 3200 mhz ram has worked without any hiccups.
  • The BIOS is still buggy after 5 version releases? Typical Asus. Logged case with Asus, gave steps to reproduce... don't think they'll reply anytime soon.
ASUS ROG Strix B350-F GAMING AMD Ryzen AM4 DDR4 HDMI DisplayPort M.2 USB 3.1 ATX B350 Motherboard
  • I was having a hard time trying to choose which AM4 motherboard to get, as nothing had all the features I wanted. So I was really glad that this came out before I bought something and that I didn't have to compromise.
  • Easy to mount, everything worked neat from the first power on . The conections are very well thought (helps a lot for cable management). Beauty BIOS UI, with a bunch of options and info.
  • Super easy to get 4.0GHZ out of my Ryzen 5 1600X must have gotten a decent chip in the lottery
  • Someone's fingerprint was on the metal shield that says "SupremeFX". The fingerprint came off easily with a cloth though, so no big deal.
  • If you have a Windows 7 licence and you want to upgrade to W10 with the licence you purchased, it's going to be unconfortable to do it at the begining. To boot Windows 7 you will need a USB memory and at the time to boot up the USB Stick, this motherboard won't recognize any USB device
  • microsoft no longer has native support for am4 ryzen processors running windows 8.1. Mind you i had 8.1 installed on my fresh build 64gb ddr4, asus rog strix f gaming mobo, 2x 500gb ssd, ryzen 7 1700.

What customers say about "Memory"
ASUS ROG Strix X370-F GAMING AMD Ryzen AM4 DDR4 HDMI DisplayPort M.2 ATX X370 Motherboard with USB 3.1
  • This is one amazing Board! It is fast! it has extremely technical or simple Bios that can do amazing things as you would expect from ASUS.
  • Loving this board, just built a new PC a month ago and this board gave me everything I needed and wanted. My only wish is that it had 2 USB 2.0 headers so I don’t need a internal hub.
  • The BIOS is simple and easy to use, I used the tool in the BIOS to OC and it set my CPU to 4GHz and RAM to 3000MHz without any issues.
  • I was amazed at how much of a difference the M.2 SSD makes, it’s my first SSD and I watched Win 10 install in 13 minutes, and from being off the PC loads into windows with everything loaded and ready to go in less than 10 seconds...
  • USB3.1, front and rear. Plenty of USB ports on rear. BIOS is very user friendly
  • 1 USB 2.0 header, taken up by case I/O panel
  • I had a problem when trying to get my ram to 3200mhz where the computer would turn on but only the DRAM light was on with no signal going to the monitor.
ASUS ROG Strix B350-F GAMING AMD Ryzen AM4 DDR4 HDMI DisplayPort M.2 USB 3.1 ATX B350 Motherboard
  • Seems to have good overclocking support
  • Memory overclocking is good. My Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB kit did work at 2133MHz but didn't work at 3000MHz out of the box. It wouldn't POST with the XMP profile that was loaded on the RAM. Boosting the voltage up a bit (from 1.35V to ~1.36V) or fiddling with the timings got it working at 2933MHz.
  • The M.2 Sata slot is well placed so It doesn't received negative air pressure from the GPU (like most of the motherboard at this price range)
  • XMP profile didn't work out of the box. This could change with future BIOS updates.
  • in order to get memory to run at anything over 2133mhz, it requires a bios update. I figure with it being several months after launch this board should be equipped with more modern BIOS settings than what is on it.

What customers say about "Connectivity"
ASUS ROG Strix X370-F GAMING AMD Ryzen AM4 DDR4 HDMI DisplayPort M.2 ATX X370 Motherboard with USB 3.1
  • Works as expected, Removed heatsinks to inspect thermal interface between heatsink and VRMs. These 2 pieces of heatsinks are attached using screws (which is good), not spring loaded push-pins. Pretty good build quality IOR VRMs.
  • VR ready- if you want to use VR make sure you GPU also supports it. 3D Printer support- I’ll never use it but it’s a cool feature
  • This good value board considering all of its options and overclocking tools, the asus 5 way optimization works extremely well just make sure you have a good aftermarket cooler if you plan to overclock.
  • Loved being able to update the bios over LAN. There is some anomaly with the TPU profile that impacted my initial attempt at a stable overclock. Set it to TPU II in the bios and now it's PERFECT.
  • No WiFi, I don’t use WiFi on PC's but it’s a feature that should be on all boards nowadays imo
  • Seating the m.2 ssd was harder than expected and sticking ram into the slots I had to push down much harder than on any other motherboard I have used.
ASUS ROG Strix B350-F GAMING AMD Ryzen AM4 DDR4 HDMI DisplayPort M.2 USB 3.1 ATX B350 Motherboard
  • Audio is great. However, if you don't have very good speakers/headphones or aren't extremely picky, it's definitely overkill.
  • Includes 4 SATA cables, so you can actually use the 4 SATA ports off the chipset plus an M.2 drive without having to buy extra SATA cables. It's a little thing, but it's still helpful.
  • On this board, the SATA ports off the chipset (*not* the SoC) do support RAID, so you could run RAID 10. Not important for most people, but it's nice that it's there.
  • The CPU cooler backplate wasn't stuck onto the board with tape or glue. Depending on what kind of cooler you will use, that might not matter, but it does make installing the Wraith Spire stock cooler included with the Ryzen 5 1600 a little bit trickier.
  • No PS/2 port, but the more expensive X370 version of this board has one.

What customers say about "Features"
ASUS ROG Strix X370-F GAMING AMD Ryzen AM4 DDR4 HDMI DisplayPort M.2 ATX X370 Motherboard with USB 3.1
  • This time I went with the trend of RGB and the board has a strip that compliments the rest of the build nicely. There’s 2 RGB headers on the board and the AURA software works like a charm to control all but one RGB part(the RAM fan is Corsair which requires its own software).
  • Overall I’d recommend this board to anyone, wether it’s for gaming, video editing, or just everyday use and you want to be future proofed. ASUS builds solid products and I’ve never had any problems with their boards in all the builds I’ve done for myself or friends/family.
  • The asus aura software is super user friendly and have had no issues with the motherboard. The included user manual is super useful when installing components and to get you familiar with this beast. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
  • Aura RGB software not installing. I discovered how to turn it off in the BIOS so for now I can’t use the feature. It’s still a great board though. I am happy again with my purchase.
  • Wish there were more RGB headers but I’m not sure how many boards have more than 2
ASUS ROG Strix B350-F GAMING AMD Ryzen AM4 DDR4 HDMI DisplayPort M.2 USB 3.1 ATX B350 Motherboard
  • RGB LEDs on the chipset are covered up by large graphics cards, giving the motherboard a soft glow. Still looks pretty and I don't care a lot about RGB stuff.
  • This was my first computer build, so I'm sure I made some mistakes, but I'm really happy with how it has turned out so far. I've had zero issues with this motherboard and would definitely buy it again.
  • To start off, this is a gorgeous motherboard. Very well made, and the RGB lighting is a very nice feature.
  • A bit pricier than some B350 boards, albeit with more features.
  • With that being said I does comes with its flaws. For one, if you are using all four DIMM slots, the stock Wraith Cooler presses up against the heatshield of the ram sticks. Luckily for me, I was only using the A2, B2 slots which didnt affect me.

What customers say about "Power"
ASUS ROG Strix X370-F GAMING AMD Ryzen AM4 DDR4 HDMI DisplayPort M.2 ATX X370 Motherboard with USB 3.1
  • Set VCORE voltage to 1.4 Vcore. and CPU cores speed to 3800Mhz.
  • This motherboard holds great promise of overclocking my Ryzen 1600X to 3.8 GHZ on all cores. I went with this board over the B350 because it offered more power phases ( 8+2) . In theory more power phases mean a cleaner power source to the processor.
  • The rgb looks great and the power delivery is wonderful so far. I'd recommend buying this motherboard over any other am4 motherboard simply for looks and the fact that it still has am3 cooler support built in (similar to the crosshair vi), unless you are strictly going for a budget build.
  • I had the board up for about 2 days when it shut down on me. Tried swapping all of the components with known good ones, cables, etc... Tracked it down to a likely power delivery or internal switching issue on the motherboard itself.
ASUS ROG Strix B350-F GAMING AMD Ryzen AM4 DDR4 HDMI DisplayPort M.2 USB 3.1 ATX B350 Motherboard
  • Good motherboard if you need to upgrade for more power CPU, and it is well within a set budget.
  • I chose this board after some time researching and the reviews for the power delivery circuits. The board itself looks very nice and I like the fact that its not overdone in RGB lighting. Bios is easy to use and I like that is has enough USB ports for peripherals and a VR HMD
  • Good motherboard if you need to upgrade for more power CPU, and it is well within a set budget.
  • No external clock generator, but that seems to be limited to only some X370 boards.
