PROS

The built-in LTE filter works wonders removing the interference caused by 4G phone signals, ensuring noise-free digital TV reception. The two extra UHF elements enhance the UHF/VHF channel reception, noticeably improving the image quality. The 20-25% more gain area also means reduced wind interference and better reception for all channels.

CONS

The antenna takes some time to set up.

OUR VERDICT

Five Star FSA-1806 does pretty much everything better than its direct competition. The 200-mile range is almost absurd compared to standard antennas. The amplification range is pretty ridiculous too. The whole thing's weatherproof and as durable as these antennas come.

Five Star FSA-1806

Not Grading on a Curve Here

We're not really into grading like that but the Five Star FSA-1806 deserves five stars. We've seen good long-range TV antennas before but the model might just be the best prospect on the market right now.

First things first, the powerful built-in LTE filter works wonders removing the interference caused by 4G phone signals, ensuring noise-free digital TV reception.

The two extra UHF elements enhance the UHF/VHF channel reception, noticeably improving the image quality. The 20-25% more gain area also means reduced wind interference and better reception for all channels.

The high-quality copper cable does an excellent job improving the signal transmission from the antenna to the receiver.

The automatic gain control system sets the amplification range between 15 and 35 decibels, shooting signal reception performance through the roof.

The weatherproof materials will let this digital TV antenna easily survive any weather.

As far as we're concerned, the only issue with the product in general is that the antenna usually takes some time to set up.

Other than that, the Five Star FSA-1806 does pretty much everything better than its direct competition. The 200-mile range is almost absurd compared to standard antennas. The amplification range is pretty ridiculous too. The whole thing's weatherproof and as durable as these antennas come.

McDuory WA-2900-3d

Uncompressed High-Definition Television

The McDuory WA-2900-3d will have no issues picking up networks like ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, and many more in crystal-clear uncompressed HD. The multi-directional antenna will never fail to pick up any signal 180 degrees around the house.

You'll be able to enjoy over-the-air broadcasts in that uncompressed full HD (1080P), Ultra HD (4K), and/or 3D quality/setting that people usually have to pay for. The antenna will let you save monthly fees from cable or satellite agents.

The model's 150-mile range is pretty standard for long-range antennas. Everything we've mentioned earlier is relatively pedestrian as far as these antennas are concerned.

Having said that, there are certain details that separate the product from its direct competition. For example, there's this nice little LED indicator that shows whether the antenna is working or not. There are also these snap-on mechanisms that make the antenna easy to install. The mounting pole that comes supplied with the package will let you put the antenna in the attic.

Bottom line, the McDuory WA-2900-3d relies on these little details to edge out its long-range competition. The antenna's sturdy construction will be able to withstand the toughest weather conditions. You'll have no issues setting the whole thing up. Plus, you can put the antenna pretty much anywhere you want.

Fardalo High Reception

Amplified Signal with Little Noise

The updated model from Fardalo is that high-quality, high-reception, long-range antenna that manages to balance pretty much every little aspect/detail as well as its more expensive peers.

As far as we're concerned, the only issue with the updated model is the relatively bright amplification indicators that some people might find somewhat annoying. Apart from that, we've no major complaints here.

The built-in low-noise and high-gain amplifier improves signal reception performance without bringing ghost images and noticeably increasing background noise.

The antenna will let you enjoy free digital broadcast high-definition TV signals. The model is capable of supporting two TVs at the same time.

On the assembly and installation subjects, these snap-on mechanisms will enable you to easily set the antenna up. The user manual supplied with the package is pretty straightforward easy to follow.

The wireless remote control will let you manipulate the antenna from <30 feet. You'll be able to turn the antenna 360 degrees and pick up any signal coming from any direction within a 150-mile range.

In other words, what we're dealing with here is the most well-rounded and well-balanced prospect on this list. The antenna will give you somewhere between 30 and 60 channels (depending on where you live) for free. Even people in rural areas will usually be able to pick up somewhere around 30 channels.

pingbingding WA-2608

Simple Installation

The Pingbingding WA-2608 doesn't differ that much from every long-range model we've reviewed before. The 28-36 dB amplification range is pretty standard as far as these antennas go. There's also this indicator light that lights up when you turn the antenna on.

The amplifier is pretty effective, keeping noise as low as possible, all while making sure to increase signal reception performance.

The model will usually have no issues picking up FM, DAB, VHF, and UHF frequencies within 150 miles. You'll receive free digital broadcast HD TV signals. The antenna can receive signals for 2 TVs at the same time without using splitters. You won't need any special adapters.

As far as installation is concerned, the antenna is pretty easy to set up. The snap-on mechanisms let you install the antenna with no tools required. The instruction manual that comes with the package will make sure you don't put the wrong things together.

Other than that, the mounting pole that also comes with the package will let you install the antenna in the attic too. The only problem we have with the product is the remote control's relatively limited range.

In short, the Pingbingding WA-2608 is precision-tuned to receive UHF and VHF frequencies and provide you with high-quality HD content. The 40-feet cable and the 4-feet coaxial cables that come with the box will let you set the antenna up pretty much anywhere you want.

Musun Outdoor

Say Goodbye to Cable TV Bills

The Musun Outdoor Antenna will let you say goodbye to cable TV and ridiculous bills that come with cable TV. The antenna has no issues receiving free, full, live HD channels. You'll be able to save somewhere around $1020 annually on cable fees.

As far as the model's performance is concerned, there's not much to complain about too. The built-in smart IC chip and the crystal-clear filter tech work together to pick up the right signals, filtering out cellular and FM signals. You'll be able to enjoy the clearest picture with low noise and pretty much unlimited access to free broadcast TV signals.

The remote controller that comes supplied with the package will let you rotate the antenna 360 degrees, making sure that you're able to pick up all available signals. In addition to the remote and everything else, the company sends you this 33-feet cable as well as 4-feet coaxial cables. Some customers find the main (33-feet) cable relatively poor though, so we would recommend being careful with it.

All things considered, the Musun Outdoor Antenna doesn't leave all that much to be desired. The antenna supports two TVs at the same time. You won't even have to bother with a splitter. It is compatible with full HD (1080p) and Ultra HD (4K) broadcasts.

What Is a Long-Range TV Antenna?

We all know what TV antennas do. What's the difference between long-range TV antennas and regular antennas? You'd be surprised - it is the titular long range. Regular antennas' range is usually limited to 30-50 miles. These antennas, however, can pick up signals that come within 150-200 miles.

Setting the effective range aside, these antennas don't differ that much from regular antennas. You can put them on the roof as well as in the attic (depending on the model and the hardware that comes with that model). Half-decent antennas usually support FM, DAB, VHF, and UHF frequencies, meaning that you'll be able to pick up 3D, HD, Full HD, and Ultra HD content. The amplifiers that these antennas come equipped with hover around the ~20-35 dB range more often than not.

Other than the hardware required to install these antennas, the people behind these products will usually send you the necessary cables to set everything up without having to purchase anything separately.

These antennas are especially great for people who live in rural areas. Those who live in urban areas will likely benefit from these things as much as from regular TV antennas/attic antennas, so you should probably rather look into these if you fall under the latter category.
