About the Product
The SE 245 is the answer for players who grew up using short scale, single-cutaway guitars. The 24.5” scale length, Wide Fat neck is instantly comfortable, and the SE 245 treble and bass humbuckers with dual volume and dual tone controls give the SE 245 a classic voice that is eminently recordable and gig ready. Bird inlays and the new logo design come standard.
Since its introduction in 1952, the Les Paul has achieved mythical status, and the Gibson Les Paul Standard carries on that legacy. Maple-topped mahogany delivers a balanced combination of warmth and brightness that's enhanced beautifully by a set of vintage-inspired Burstbucker pickups. On top of that, historically handwired circuitry infuses this guitar with an unmistakable sonic appeal.

What customers say about "Key Specs"
PRS SE 245 Maple Top Electric Guitar
  • A very nice touch at this price was that the back was not painted black and left stained natural to see the wood grain....thanks! The wide fat neck is crazy fun to play.
  • No buzzing or dead spots. Incredible sustain, and the pickups actually sound pretty good.
  • I can"t believe that i was using an SE model cause it"s comparable to my US made PRS"s. I have 5 high end PRS"s and this one is very comparable to them.
  • I absolutely love this guitar. Some people might think it's crazy to have an SE Custom 24 and an SE 245, but they are incredibly different.
  • Out of the box the tuning stability wasn't as good as the S2 but a little graphite in the nut did the trick. The 9 gauge strings were just a bit to slinky for me so I put 10 gauge on and was pleasantly surprised the intonation was still perfect.
Gibson Les Paul Standard 2015 Wine Red Candy
  • I love the Les Paul Standard so much that I have purchased two in the past two years. These instruments are outstanding and absolutely cannot be challenged by any other guitar. Upon arrival, both of my instruments playability was exceptional.
  • Excellent guitar.. G force works perfectly.. No wonder Gibson includes G force and removable pick guard only in high performance series!!!
  • The pickups are fine, the coil tap option is something I had not experienced previously and I was surprised that the humbuckers when tapped did not sound thin or weak...nice feature.
  • Body is comfortable with good neck action. Actually like the sound of the pick ups with the coil tap. It gives a brighter humbucker combination sound.
  • String definition is all there and very well balanced low to high, no muddiness at all, pickups are clear and airy.
  • I'm giving this guitar two stars because the polyurethane finish on it is terribly flawed. There are loads of tiny scratches or divets, as if some material damaged the finish.
  • The guitar sounds great. Pickups and electronics are solid. Strings don't look or feel new. Frets are high and will have to be dressed. The guitar has tuning issues if you play hard.

Gibson Les Paul Standard 2015 Wine Red Candy
  • Beautiful instrument, top guality finish, tight action, fantastic neck profile and ease of play.
  • The finish is just too beautiful to hide under a piece of plastic that I don't need, anyway.
  • This is a wonderful guitar with a very sweet sound. Has the typical gibson quality and beautiful finish.
  • Build quality seems far better than any other Gibson I have held.
  • The build quality and finish are nice and I expect the guitar to give many years of good service.

What customers say about "Features"
PRS SE 245 Maple Top Electric Guitar
  • There's nothing wrong with the clean tone, it's warm, characterful and loaded with lengthy sustain, you can hear all the woods nicely and there's great sustain with overdrive.
  • Great tone and sustain, feels solidly built, and plays really smoothly. Sweetwater customer service was fantastic.
  • The electronics work quiet. No scratching and clicking The neck for some may take some getting use to as it is a bit chunkier that a LP but not a problem at all.
  • The different scale length, the thicker mahogany neck vs. the thinner maple one, the different controls, the thicker body on the 245, the different pickups, the wrap around stop tail instead of a tremolo.
  • The only problem PRS people have is finding a case for it. I modified a Gator GWELP hard case by removing the foam ramp and lowering the neck support.

  • Hand wired, orange drop caps. Just sweet as ever. no pcb, no brass nut, no robot tuners. Just kick awesome. Hand wired, orange drop caps. Just sweet as ever. no pcb, no brass nut, no robot tuners. Just kick awesome.
  • I don't know how Gibson figured out how to get new guitars to sound like a 60 year old guitar but they did. I own 50s,60's and 90s Gibsons. This hangs and dare I say may sound better.
  • The clear, pristine tone just destroys every other guitar I own, including guitars by Fender, Gibson, Rickenbacker and Danelectro.
  • Amaze balls, the most expressive les Paul I have ever played, they have introduced a whole, new level of quality to the guitar line up, simplifying the 2014 and maintaining a better more elegant ethos to thei models.
  • Love the removable scratch plate, no holes !
  • Neck trapezoid slim? not slim, unit neck C seim Les Paul De Luxe.
