Good solid reel. Use it on a 7'' Medium action Fenwick Eagle. Caught a few Reds on it.
This thing is beautiful! Well made and reels like butter, smooth and quiet.

The drag feels smooth, as with all of shimano reels.
Smooth reel, drag holds its setting, no wind knots.
This is a great " bang for your buck " reel. Super smooth, durable, and plenty of drag.
Nice drag, only time will tell as to the durability.
It worked well the one time I fished with it but when I got home and went to put it on the rod rack I discovered the drag had failed.

My favorite reels. Shimano makes a great product and this was a great price!
I'm so glad I went with this reel, it's unbelievably smooth, the drag is top notch, the fit and finish is beautiful, and it casts a mile!
The drag is smooth and easy to dial in fine increments.
Most $200 reels cant handle that much drag stripping action.

Large spool capacity and very smooth. Can't beat it for the price.
I have six of these reels. I fish about two weeks a month in salt water. Never had a problem.
Light weight, the gear has smooth feeling, price is about right.
Smooth but handle snapped in half on second use.
Needs a hard crank of the handle to get it closed. I'm hoping this will loosen up after time.

The angle is much sharper then other reels. But it does accomplish being more compact. But I would choose comfort over size.
The construction is solid, with the construction of the bail being the one that impresses me the most.
I have used this reel for the past three years as my primary false albacore reel and have loved it!
This product is great to use with croaker.
Its very smooth and can take severe abuse and misshandeling.
