About the Product

The Okuma Avenger ABF B Series Baitfeeder Spinning Reels feature Okuma's blade body design which allows anglers to disengage their spinning reel spool and allow their bait to run freely. The baitfeeding system incorporates a secondary micro-adjustable drag system at the rear of the reel that allows for precise adjustment of the spool for bait control.

The new Baitrunner gives you the confidence of a legendary drivetrain and auto-return Baitrunner feature as well as better castability, better line lay, less backlash, wind knots or tangles, less friction on the line, larger, more comfortable grips, a higher max drag as well as a wider range of Baitrunner settings than its predecessors.

I love this reel. I have it paired with an 8' ugly stick and some Reaction Tackle blue camo 20lb braid and man this thing is smooth and tough.
The reel works like a charm nice and smooth. All in all I love my new reel and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg.
This inshore reel exceeded my expectations. It was extremely smooth in both casting and retrieving.
I have had much success with these reels when combined with the Spectra braided line.
I have this to a buddy that loves Okuma reels. He put it on a custom rod that he made and this thing casted and handled like a dream.

Casting over 60 yards no problem, and even smaller fish are fun to catch.
The braided line casts the best . I've caught everything from blue fish to big sharks.
Great reel. I finally got to use it for the fall stripe bass run and it handles both large and small fish well and it is super smooth.
I love this reel. 2 years later still work perfectly. Would buy again!
It fit my rod, and hands just fine. Loaded up with 30# braid, I plan to use it in the Texas bays.

This new version is superior in every way. It is smaller and lighter. The drag is more precise and smoother.

The reel handle them well , the drag was smooth and consistent.
Drag adjustments are very easy and give a positive click, along with the bait feeder option, which I will use this summer when fishing for big carp and catfish.

Shimano Baitrunner D (BTR8000D) Spinning Reel

As I use live bait my cast net brings in and this feature allows the game fish to pick up and run with the baitfish without feeling the drag.
Have used twice for bay fishing and have not had any issues - smooth action and plenty powerful for pulling in gator trout and redfish.
Best reel for the money, even if you don't use live bait, the small drag lets you move your pole around without unsticking your sinker.
It has flawlessly handled 30 lb monsters. The drag and Baitrunner works great.
Have been fishing for over 40 years. This is my 3rd Baitrunner (have one of the originals) and this is better than all the rest. Great retrieve rate and drag. Worth every cent.

Easy to use and the ABF system prevents a lot of line twist.
Reel seems very robust and have had zero issues. So far loving it! Bait feeder feature works awesome as well!
I have owned an Okuma reel before and that was the best reel I have ever had. I am sure that this reel will live up to the same standard.
Well built, own 6 of them. Mainly use for trolling for striper. The bait clicker makes this very easy when setting lines out.
Nice smooth reel. Very happy with the Okuma baitfeeder line for surf fishing live and dead bait. This model has a nice size handle that is very comfortable to use.

Shimano Baitrunner D (BTR8000D) Spinning Reel

These newer ones are tanks and very very smooth. They are very durable and we have been using them for a long time.
The clicker is very loud and you'll have no problem hearing it.
I much prefer the Shimano Baitrunner due to the better and lower drag control you can get using the Baitrunner/Liveliner feature of this Rod over the Spinfisher V.
Great baitrunning feature is a must for fishing croakers.
Baitrunner feature is great, leave the line open and listen for the bite.
