The C200 works off the plug with a standard 110V voltage and accepts the currencies of the USA, Canada, or Mexico, depending on what you need. Compared to the functionality of the counter, its dimensions measured at 10.8" x 11.2" x 10.2" are quite petite, making the device very mobile. Straightforward Operation

It won't take you long to get the hang of the device. Equipped with a digital panel, the counter will output all the needed information on a LED screen in a convenient and clear way. Pressing the "Report" button, you'll learn how many coins of this or that denomination there are in the counter and what's their grand total. In addition to counting, the device can sort coins into batches, allowing you to get a particular sum of each denomination. The buttons "+" and "-" on the control panel will help you increase or decrease the batch measure. The "Bat" button will enable you to automatically sort coins between 1 to 500.

Two Sorting Ways

In the end, the counted coins come out sorted into 5 plastic trays, all filled with coins of different denominations. These trays are made of different sizes to fit a different number of coins. The Cassida C200, however, allows for substituting the trays for the tubes, enabling you to sort and wrap money in paper bags. The kit comes with a set of paper bags, so you don't need to buy them additionally (not until you run out of them, of course).

Royal Sovereign Manual

A simple and time-saving solution

The QS-1 by Royal Sovereign company is, probably, one of the most practical and simple-to-use sorting machines out there. What differs it from many of its rivals is that this model of counter operates in a fully autonomous mode, requiring neither plugging nor battery source. The operation principle of this machine is based totally on manual handle spinning - the quicker you spin the handle, the faster it will count the coins. The QS-1 will work only with the USA money, accepting pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. The hopper is big enough to hold up to 200 coins at a time. Once the money is counted, the machine delivers the coins sorted in separate coin tubes. Whenever one of the tubes gets filled, it can be easily pulled out of the unit and emptied. The QS- is also suitable for wrapping money in paper bags, which makes it much more an attractive option for users, storing or sending often money between banks.

Whenever&Wherever

In addition to being a fully autonomous device, the QS-1 is very compact in size. Due to the fact that its handle can be unscrewed, it is also very convenient for transportation. To protect the counter from dirt and dust ingress, it is recommended to keep it (and transport) with the front cover closed. The overall weight of the device amounts to 3 pounds only.

Brookstone Motorized

Organize Your Savings The Right Way

This motorized sorting machine by Brookstone can become your best investment in organizing your household well-being. The machine is fully automatic and has very user-friendly controls. Besides, it is also very compact in size with the dimensions of 10"x7"x8" only. The Brookstone sorter runs on two type-C batteries which go under the top cover of the machine. In order to launch sorting, you will only need to press "Start" and fill the hopper with coins. The hopper, though, isn't very big and can hold rather a limited number of coins at a time; which shouldn't be an issue unless you buy the device for business purposes. The Brookstone machine accepts only American currency. When the machine has finished counting, the coins come out all sorted in 5 separate tubes according to their denominations. The grand total of sorted coins amounts to $42 ($0.5 for pennies, $2 for nickels, $5 for dimes, $10 for quarters and $25 for dollar coins).

Overflow Tray: What is it used for

One of the distinguishing features of this sorting device is the option to dump excess coins in the overflow tray located at the back of the sorter. Whenever the coins fill one of the tubes, the rest of the money of the same denomination will go into this tray and stay there until you empty the tube and launch the sorting process again.

Preventing Jamming

Like we've mentioned earlier, this sorter is very easy to operate. Not only will you not have difficulty with sorting the money, you will also be able to easily liquidate jamming problems. In case of a jam, you will only need to remove the cover and get the jammed coin out. After that, the operation of the device will be resumed. You should also keep the device from overloading, adding to the hopper money in small amounts rather than dash on it the whole sum at once. 20 coins at a time are the optimal amount.

What Are Coin Counters and Sorters?

Many organizations and governmental institutions that deal with carrying out money transactions on a permanent basis, in pursuit to facilitate the counting job, use auxiliary devices. And a coin counter with a sorting function is one of them. Featuring very simple and intuitive controls, this device is yet able to count and sort coins of different sizes and denomination. Once you put the money in a hopper or a coin drawer, the counter will take it in and a few minutes later will give it back, the money being sorted in a perfect order according to its denomination. By counting coins with the help of the sorter, not only will you be able to count money much quicker, you will also protect yourself from many mistakes. So, feel free to buy one of the 5 counting machines we've reviewed for you and make your savings grow.

For customers handling cash in shops, small business, cafes, etc., we'd also recommend taking a look at our cash registers reviews and credit card readers. Both appliances will prove themselves useful in small and big trading businesses.

What Features to Compare

Spheres of usage

Have you decided to buy a counter and sorter machine, then you should consider in what particular sphere you're going to use it. There are many different types of counting machines available, all with their own features and capabilities, so you may need to look into them more specifically to find the device that will suit your specific needs best. Check out the types of coins the counter accepts, as you need to be sure that it will work with the currency of your country. If it is possible (or if you need the counter for your business), pick the counter that accepts several currencies. You should also consider the domination of coins with which the machine can work. In addition to counting, most counters can also be used for sorting money, so, if you think you need this, look out for a counter with a sorting function.

Technical characteristics

Knowing technical characteristics of the device you're working with will help you learn its capabilities better. So, make sure to check out the hopper's capacity. The bigger it will be, the more coins the counter will grasp and hold, eliminating the need for you to load it too often. The counting speed is another aspect to take into consideration. For most entry-level counting machines, 200 coins per minute are considered the norm. For more professional counting devices, the speed may reach up to 2000 coins per minute. So, if you want to buy a counter for business use, opt for the model that has a bigger hopper and operates at higher speeds.

Convenience of use

Take a look at the features that enhance the device's convenience of use. The counting machines may differ in sizes;  thus, if you need only a small counter for at-home use, consider the dimensions and choose a portable model that you will be able to easily move around and transport. For big businesses, a stationary model of a bigger size will be a better option. You should also consider the controls and the way the device shows counting results. In relation to sorters, we'd recommend you to pick a device that can sort counted money in tubes. Such counters will also work with paper bags.
