About the Product
The 2-in-1 Ranger™ pole saw/chainsaw features a lightweight design that’s easy for anyone to use. This electric tree trimmer’s powerful 8-amp motor and 10-inch bar and chain are perfect for trimming small to medium-size branches. And with a quick option to detach the 10-foot telescoping pole, you can convert from pole saw to chainsaw after you’ve brought down those high branches and limbs.
The 2-in-1 Ranger™ pole saw/chainsaw has two adjustable aluminum poles that extend 10-feet to give you extra strength and improved reach. The instant start, electric 8-amp motor helps you power through branches quickly and the low-kickback 10-inch bar and chain makes lopping and pruning simple. Then when you’ve finished using the tree trimmer to take down branches from above, the easy flip and lock clamps mean you can immediately disconnect and get down to cutting those downed limbs.

What customers say about "Key Specs"
Remington RM1025P Electric Chain Saw/Pole Saw Combo
  • The chain oiler is a manual type that requires you to pump the bulb on the oil reservoir cap in between cuts to keep the bar and chain lubed.
  • The saw ate it all up !!! I did make it a 12-inch saw because I had the bar and chain from my old saw so that helped a bit
  • I didnt want to use bar oil or multi-weight since the Remington was designed to use this oil.
  • Use as much oil as is possible as the bar is made of light soft steel and quickly will wear if dry. Its easy to dress with a file but a brush and a jar of oil might be handy.
  • You don't have to worry about kickback with this saw because it's electric and the motor lends itself to natural braking when the trigger is depressed, but you still have to be careful with it.
Remington RM1025SPS Ranger Electric Chainsaw / Pole Saw Combo
  • I had some bar oil for my regular chain saw that I used and it worked fine even though it is thicker than motor oil.
  • Have to manually squeeze bulb for oil to feed onto the guide bar and chain.
  • Don't forget to put bar and chain oil in before the first use and regularly there after. I found a vegetable based oil at the hardware store and used that.
  • Standard bar oil would be too thick, especially since the electric saw never warms up like a gas-powered saw would - this, thinning out the oil.
  • When you're sawing the bar and chain jump and chatter off the limb, it needs down pressure when cutting. I

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Remington RM1025P Electric Chain Saw/Pole Saw Combo
  • When it's at full extention it's a little unwieldy because, afterall, you have a weight on one end of a pole and it will tend to be top heavy.
  • A little unwieldy fully extended, but you need the weight to bear against the limb being cut.
  • It is a little difficult to handle due to the weight of the chainsaw on the other end.
  • I had to go on a roof to reach some branches and the weight made it a bit scary. Very quick on cutting through though.
  • Think about it - you have a long stick with a relatively heavy weight on the end, and you are holding it at an upward (and often times awkward) angle in an attempt to remove tree limbs.
Remington RM1025SPS Ranger Electric Chainsaw / Pole Saw Combo
  • The weight of the chain saw does not wobble and fits solid on the quality fiberglass pole.
  • Of course, it is harder to use when fully extended too because most of the weight is at the end. Still, you don't have to be Mr/Ms Universe to use this saw.
  • The weight of the saw can rest on the branch you are cutting so little pressure is needed to make the cut.
  • So I do like the unit. I have not tried to cut anything with the pole fully extended, but it seems like it is SUPER top heavy when you do this.
  • When I raised the saw up to reach the branch the weight was all on the far end of the pole and it became very difficult to hold and control.

What customers say about "Features"
Remington RM1025P Electric Chain Saw/Pole Saw Combo
  • You’ll need a 3/8” or 7/16” (11mm) socket wrench to loosen the guide bar bolts, a crescent wrench will not fit between the guide bar bolts they’re to close together.
  • The saw is detachable from the extension pole and can be used like regular chain saw, which I think is a handy feature even though I don't often use it that way. Overall I've been pretty happy with this pole saw. It has worked well and has done everything I have needed it to do.
  • I like the feature that you can use it as a chain saw without the pole.
  • The blade stops immediately when you release the trigger, and the button that you have to push to engage the trigger is an added safety feature.
  • Great product. I especially like the new non rotating pole feature.
Remington RM1025SPS Ranger Electric Chainsaw / Pole Saw Combo
  • My favorite feature is that it is versatile. You can remove the saw from the pole and use it like a traditional chainsaw. This is great for trimming an already cut branch on the ground.
  • The pole extension design is great. The 2 positions made it very versatile. The handle is comfortable and the slot for the electrical cord is an extra nice feature.
  • I bought this model specifically due to the ability to remove the saw portion for use as a hand chainsaw. This feature was extremely handy and helped me to avoid needing to buy a seperate chainsaw just for that purpose.
  • I was surprised with how big of tree branches it can handle and the extension is very useful feature. I have had it for years with no issues and almost maintenance free.
  • 2- when using the telescopic feature the shavings tend to fall into a compartment and collect..this is not be design..so you constantly need to maintain and clean the device after continuous cutting.

What customers say about "Power"
Remington RM1025P Electric Chain Saw/Pole Saw Combo
  • Great saw, I didn't realize an electric chain saw had so much power.
  • This a great tool for home use! I ordered this so that I could trim trees in our yard instead of my husband having to do it every year. It is light yet powerful & cuts really well.
  • The saw has plenty of power and is not too heavy to lift up to higher cuts.
  • It is certainly powerful enough to cut thru 8 in diameter limbs say 30 feet long while standing on 15 feet of ladder and therein lie the elements of adventure which cut short my first morning's pruning.
  • I think it could work in rural areas, but it may not provide enough power for heavy duty users.
Remington RM1025SPS Ranger Electric Chainsaw / Pole Saw Combo
  • The power that this saw provides for an electric model is surprisingly very, very good. Oak is a tough wood to cut and this saw cuts small/medium branches like butter.
  • The power seems great for something so small
  • It's much quieter than a gas saw and powerful too. Never got stuck while cutting limbs up to 6 inches!
  • I've never used a chain saw before, so i was nervous(didn't want to cut my hand off), but it was small enough not to have kickback or too much power.
  • The saw works great - no complaints there. Plenty of power and speed for the light work around my home
