Avantree (BTTC-500P-GRY)

Full-Featured Voice Guidance

The Avantree BTTC-500P-GRY is big-time. This device is able to stream audio to two headphones/speakers at the same time with no delay while you're watching TV, movies, or gaming. Its aptX support will be making sure the latency does not go above 40 ms.

Meanwhile, the Qualcomm aptX HD audio tech will be able to preserve the sound data throughout the audio transmission, which means that the sound quality will be able to match wired transmitters. That's pretty impressive considering that the device is almost as wireless as they get, emphasis on the almost part since the Bluetooth range will usually be unable to match the advertised 164 feet. Nevertheless, even with multiple obstructions, the module should be normally giving you no less than 150 feet, which is more than most people need anyway.

Sometimes, these Bluetooth transmitters/receivers can be somewhat confusing but we're not dealing with an example here. The model's UI is plenty intuitive, adopting full-featured voice guidance as well as handy status indicators and readily accessible buttons and ports to make the device easy to install, set up, and use.

In closing, even without tackling the product's FastStream support and ByPass mode, this BT transmitter has enough to trade blows with the best of them.

TaoTronics (TT-BA09P)

Covering All Bases

The TaoTronics TT-BA09P is thorough. To begin with, the integrated battery inside this device lasts 24 hours on a single charge, whereas most Bluetooth transmitters usually die at around 20. Plus, the battery takes two hours to go from 0 to 100%, so you can pretty much use this device 24/7.

To continue, the model enables dual-link music streaming, connecting two music sources to one wired speaker and switching between these music sources or connecting two wireless headphones to the same device so that you can share the music that you love. We're not crazy about its heat-dissipating properties though. In other words, the housing will usually heat up during prolonged use.

Even so, we cannot say that the housing is all bad, especially looking at the panel. Using LED indicators, the panel tells you the working status and when the device's successfully connected. Finally, between the Bluetooth 5.0 module and the aptX Low Latency codec, this model will be able to ensure high-fidelity, lag-free audio, matching the wireless source's clarity.

All in all, the TaoTronics TT-BA09P covers all bases, offering fast pairing and keeping the connection stable. To add more, featuring a 3.5mm audio jack and digital optical jack, this device can be paired with most speakers, amplifiers, TVs, computers, headphones, gaming consoles, and more.

Mii (B03)

NFC too

The Mii B03 looks a little clunky, claiming the opposite would be, at the very least, a little disingenuous. While most BT transmitters put the controls on the sides, this one displays them right, front, and center, with the buttons painted blue, red, and green not exactly helping the cause. Still, people seldom care about Bluetooth transmitters' appearance, so this is not really an issue, not quite.

What is an issue is that the device does not support the aptX Low Latency codec, so there's a noticeable delay between the source and headphones. On the bright side, its Bluetooth range is huge. Despite working with an outdated BT 4.2 module, the model covers above 200 feet, so you will not be feeling restricted at all.

What's also appealing about this device is the ByPass mode. Using this mode, the device doubles as a pass-through HUB, supporting different cables' input and output, whereas standard BT transmitters will only support the same cable. Adding to its advantages, the model comes equipped with an NFC module, so you can put practically any smartphone/tablet next to it and pair them even without using Bluetooth.

To summarize, though its appearance is a little off-putting, the Mii B03 is a solid product, versatile to the core.

Anker Soundsync (A3341)

Seamless Viewing

The Anker Soundsync A3341 is pretty tiny, measuring just 2.7 x 2.7 x 0.8 inches and weighing less than 1.7 ounces. As you can imagine, these numbers mean that you can easily bring this device with you. Despite its petite profile though, the embedded battery inside this one usually works for almost 20 hours before dying out. Sweetening the pot, not unlike most BT transmitters/receivers nowadays, this model also offers wired, USB connection.

A similar sentiment can be extended towards its BT module. Sure, on the one hand, its range is nothing to brag about, capping at ~33 feet. On the other hand, the updated, 5.0 version keeps the connection stable even with multiple obstructions between the content source and the content recipient.

Again, you would not presume that looking at the almost miniature footprint but this device is actually quite good at dissipating heat, so even long-term, high-duration, high-load use does not heat up the housing. The last order of business here is that the optical and 3.5mm interfaces have been moved to the back, enabling easy cable management.

Simply put, the Anker Soundsync A3341 is polished almost to the max in almost all aspects, even without mentioning the aptX Low Latency codec support that eliminates the delay between the picture and audio, enabling seamless viewing.

TaoTronics (TT-BA08)

Put It in a Car

The model from TaoTronics is simply great for a number of different reasons. First off, not dissimilar to the majority of these devices, the model offers two different power source options, providing you with the opportunity to work with a built-in rechargeable battery or a USB-port. But the difference between those devices and the one in question is just how many hours of battery life you can get out of a single charge. Where most transmitters offer somewhere between 7 and 8, the model will be able to provide you with 20 hours of runtime, making it easily the best Bluetooth transmitter for cars.

In order to support that statement, we would also like to point out the device's 1.89" x 1.89" x 0.33" of overall dimensions, the kind of size that will allow you to easily find some space for it inside your car. And to further cement that argument, there's also the ability to connect 2 Bluetooth speakers or headphones at the same time. Using the latter option, parents can get an ever-so-needed break while the children are enjoying the movie in silence.

Other than that, the manufacturers certainly weren't wrong to incorporate the aptX Low Latency technology. In case you aren't familiar with it, the said technology is there to ensure the lowest end-to-end lag time possible. With no more than 40 milliseconds of the latter, you will be able to transmit HD video without any issues whatsoever. Finally, the USB Bluetooth transmitter also comes equipped with the receiver's functions that allow the non-Bluetooth devices like car or home stereo systems to receive high-quality audio.

In conclusion, the model from TaoTronics could certainly be described as one of the better options for parents. Aside from that and the low lag time, it is the model's compact size and the 2-for-1 connection that make the device such a great option for cars.

What Is a Bluetooth Transmitter?

The Big Bang Theory's Sheldon Cooper has suggested that everything is better with Bluetooth. And you know what? He isn't wrong. Unfortunately, not every consumer electronics manufacturer out there agrees with that philosophy. But, as it always is with the free market, where one group of people lacks the foresight to do the obvious thing, the other group is there to pick up the slack. That is how the latter group of people came up with a Bluetooth transmitter. Using a device like that, you will be able to transform 3.5 mm audio-out media devices into Bluetooth devices capable of streaming Bluetooth audio. Plus, a good chunk of these transmitters also come equipped with the receiver's functions, the kind that you can use to make non-Bluetooth devices like car or home stereo systems receive high-quality audio. Just take into account the range of the signal and the type and the number of connections that the transmitter comes equipped with and you should be able to choose the right model.

A device like that works best when paired with a good set of computer speakers or a Bluetooth headset, so you might want to grab one of those while you're at it.
