My purchase was based on extensive research and decision came up pretty easily because there is nothing else even remotely close to this device.
It's got everything high end audio and video at top level for this symbolic price.
The sound and video from this player are as good as anything else that I've experienced, which is saying something!
The best piece of audiofile and video equipment I have ever owned or experienced. Fantastic! Everything it is said to be and perhaps more. Worth every penny.
The audio produced by a Blu-ray disc is mind-blowing. Oh, yeah: The picture looks pretty good, too.

This is a true audiophile level player. I have a more expensive setup, but I am listening to the 205 exclusively. There is some magic in those new DACs.
4K picture is amazing and of course the sound value of the 205 is great in theater mode as well as two-channel.
The sound through the analog outputs is extremely detailed, which is very impressive at first.
This unit it's overpriced when this units are being fade out. over all. I think it's too slow as well. It took a while to read my hard drive, while the old model took less time.
The only thing I don't like is the the software won't let you get into all files on your iPad, only things you have stored in iTunes.

Excellent audio and video, versatile a/v. Plays flac media, headphone sound exquisite. I could not ask for a better player.
A higher-quality digital files sent directly from my laptop via a USB cable sound incredible.
I have played music CDs, DVDs, and Blu Ray discs and all work great. The features are varied, video is stunning, and sound is also excellent.
There is some flaky behavior when using the remote, and the apps that they have leave a little to be desired.
You can't search by subfolders, or by artist, composer, or other tags. So you have to drill into the folder structure in order to find things to play.

I also have it hooked up via HDMI directly to my Sony 4K television. I occasionally use the television for watching shows and movies, but it's mostly for managing media.
I used the HDMI input to strap my Playstation 4 but it also works very nicely with the Apple TV.
Like to see a second HDMI video output and volume control knob on front panel.

I'm quite pleased with the HDMI playback of digital media. High level quality!
The extra audio/video inputs have allowed me to use the BDP-105D direct to my amplifier and thus act as a switcher/preamp, and the front-panel USB/HDMI inputs are great.
Set up is very easy for such a sophisticated device. The fancy HDMI cable they provide goes into the HDMI input on the TV and the Video out in the Oppo.
Finally when I see the product and hear it I am convinced that the audio from - Blue ray, 2 HDMI inputs, is way better than I was anticipating.
Most players I've tested would let you pass through a signal from something like a PS4 without being on, if you didn't want to fire up the full rig.
