What customers say about "Key Specs"
Giro Chronicle MIPS MTB Helmet
  • Great helmet and well constructed.
  • Worked super well during a nasty spill, however it did crack after that one large crash. It either saved my life or was poorly constructed, considering how fast I was going and how hard I fell, I'm pretty sure it's built well.
  • Got a large, good fit , if your at the end of the size chart go up one size, there could have been more attention to detail on the Velcro holing the liner, walnut color more like dark army green.
  • My wife and I had been using our Road bike helmets with our mountain bikes and were planning on hitting the trails this evening. So to say this came just in time is an understatement.
  • I bought this helmet for my husband, who used it for mountain biking. This morning he had a pretty serious accident wherein he flew over the handlebars and landed on his right side.
Giro Montaro MIPS Helmet
  • The helmet itself looks great and appears to be very well constructed.
  • Great feeling helmet, materials seem durable and lightweight
  • Great Helmet, that fits good on your head and doesn't look goofy like some helmets! I ride a mountain bike and wanted that kind of helmet, even though I mostly ride on the Bike path here in California.
  • This is a nice helmet and a good value. It is relatively light for a mountain helmet, but I ended up sending it back for an even lighter helmet.
  • Very comfortable helmet. I go mountain biking about four times a week and ride black diamond trails and have had no problems with this helmet.

What customers say about "Features"
Giro Chronicle MIPS MTB Helmet
  • Nice air flow and easy adjustment, just wish there was a French Fry dispenser built in; but I guess you can't win them all.
  • The helmet took a heavy impact when he went down, resulting in a crack along the outside. He has a minor abrasion on his cheek and a 3rd degree shoulder separation, but is otherwise unhurt.
  • Slightly more heavy than my older Giro road helmet but I feel safer with this one.
  • The arms on my glasses curve out slightly and make it difficult to slide them on with the retention system if I'm wearing it. My Oakley O-frame goggles fit well and and strap doesn't move around.
  • Nice retention system and great fit. Wanted some extra protection after a friend crashed and got a concussion.
Giro Montaro MIPS Helmet
  • It is a little warmer than a helmet without the MIPS but that is to be expected.
  • I also think MIPS helps with the heat because if keeps some space between your head and the foam (conduction vs convection).
  • Offers good protection with MIPS and the integrated break-away go-pro mount allows for easy night light fitting.
  • I'm a believer in the MIPS system so I hopefully I won't need that protection but it's nice to have. Nice visor with some mobility too.
  • I love the extra safety features with the MIPS system and I like that it comes with a helmet mount for a light, GoPro, etc.
