Simpson MSH3125-S

From Patios to Boats

If you look for a pressure washer with high performance and a long lifetime, the Simpson MSH3125-S pressure washer should suit you best. The machine uses PowerBoost technology that ensures considerably higher pressure of a hose and nozzles and consequently, a higher cleaning edge of indoor and outdoor surfaces. While delivering top performance, the pressure washer doesn’t overheat due to the thermal relief system it uses, thus, all its components together with an engine have got a longer lifetime.

There’s hardly any better pressure washer cleaner for blasting away the dirt from patios, decks, siding, boats, metal fences, etc. than Simpson gas pressure washer, it does a brilliant job based on power washer reviews. Customers give the highest marks to its performance. However, when it comes to smaller-scale jobs and more delicate surfaces, it may appear to be just too powerful and aggressive.

Review of Simpson MSH3125-S Technologies Axial GPM Gas Pressure Washer

Removing Stains in Seconds

Being one of the most powerful gas-based pressure washers on our shortlist, it outperforms the presented models on most other criteria too. The GC190 OHC engine from Honda that it comes paired with demonstrates incredible 3100 PSI pressure output with water flow strength measured up to 2,5 GPM. You’d need just a few seconds to get started; this is how quickly the machine works and heats up the water.

You’ll find Simpson MSH31250S gas pressure washer incredible just like it is. Without using any additional accessories, it effectively fights with heavy contamination of any kind. But with a few nozzles added, it will make miracles. No matter what surface exactly you’ve decided to clean, it will remove the stains and dirt in seconds. Upon using different nozzle tips, you'll be able to clean away the grime from the areas you'd never have gotten to by yourself.

However, we do recommend you to meticulously follow all the instructions in order to achieve the best cleaning results. According to our survey, the machine should not be used for too long on one and the same place, otherwise, instead of removing the dirt, the water flow may destroy the surface (so powerful it is!) It’s also important to get equipped with some hearing protection as the noise it produces is rather loud.

Simpson MS31025HT MegaShot 3100 PSI Pressure Washer - Review

What customers say about this product

Key Specs

Very powerfull and strong PSI to clean.

Features

Great product and the Honda GC190 engine is a workhorse little engine.

Size & Weight

It's light weight and has excellent power. Should be a workhorse at a very reasonable price.

Sun Joe SPX3000

5 Quick-Spray Nozzles

The Sun Joe SPX3000 is capable, capable is the word we would use to describe this machine. It is also pretty cost-effective, balancing an above-average power output, versatility, and excellent cleaning results, all while keeping the price tag affordable. Where the model's application range lands is with low- and medium-scale jobs, including different vehicles, furniture items, grills, plastic toys, and more. You'll be washing, buildings, boats, decking, patios, driveways, various lawn equipment pieces, you name them.

This is an electric machine but, unlike most electric machines within this price range, the washer draws respectable 1800 watts and generates 2030 PSI, allowing the unit to remove even the toughest, most stubborn stains, smudges, and more. From the safety perspective, whenever you don’t use the pump, the machine will automatically turn itself off so that you’ve got nothing to worry about. But, going back to its application range, the model's able to extend it using the five quick-spray nozzles that will allow you to remove grime and mud even from the most hard-to-reach places. The nozzle tip lets you choose between different spray widths, attacking multiple surfaces and increasing/decreasing the coverage area when that is what's required. Meanwhile, the onboard detergent tank measures ~30 ounces (0.9 liters), removable and capable of carrying and storing multiple detergent types to tackle multiple cleaning projects at the same time.

Review of Sun Joe SPX3000 Electric Pressure Washer

Long Accessory List

The machine's not flawless, none are, especially not at the ~$150 price bracket. To name one, the garden hose connector is made from relatively flimsy plastic that may start leaking if you do not seal it tight against the rubber washer. Some might find the wheels not as manoeuvrable as one would like but, considering that the machine weighs only 31 pounds and that the handle is not only sizable but also quite comfortable, you can switch between carrying the unit and rolling it, so the wheels should not present considerable challenges.

What should also not present considerable challenges is the accessories that are shipped with this unit, including two 30 ounces (0.9 liters) removable detergent tanks, a 34-inch extension wand, a 20-foot high-pressure hose, a 35-foot power cord with GFCI protection, a garden hose adapter, a needle clean-out tool, and the five quick-connect spray tips that we've addressed above. Taking these accessories into account, the Sun Joe SPX3000 dominates most pressure washers within his class.

Sun Joe SPX3000 2030 PSI 1.76 GPM Electric Pressure Washer, 14.5-Amp Review

What customers say about this product

Key Specs

I love this washer. It competes with my 2200 psi gas powered pressure washer. In fact I sold the gas one to keep this.

Size & Weight

It is also 1/3 the weight of my gas pressure washer so it is quite easy to tote around and even transport in my car.

Features

One of the best features of this SPX3000 is the choice of nozzles. Unfortunately, once he put the green nozzle on, neither of us was able to remove it.

Generac 6882 GPW

Allowing Plenty

The Generac 6882 is not generic at all, despite the company's name teetering on that edge. In fact, pretty much the opposite is the case. This machine is smart, capable, and effective, keeping the price reasonable at the same time.

To kick things off, the model's 196cc OHV engine is where everything starts. Ironically, the product's biggest flaw is that the engine is not that easy to start at first, so you'll have to get used to its unique ignition mechanism.

Moving from the engine, pressure washers are only as effective as the spray gun and the attachments allow them to be. Here, these components allow plenty. The PowerDial™ spray gun is ergonomic and configurable, letting you easily adjust the output required to accommodate different tasks like cleaning cars, concrete, wood, and washing. These adjustments will be accessible at the fingertips, which means no bending and slouching to reach the controls will be necessary.

Now, on the attachment subject, the Turbo nozzle comes first. Endowed with rotating pinpoint stream, this attachment lets you remove the most stubborn dirt and grime from the toughest surfaces, also shortening the timeframe required to do so.

The Soap Blaster attachment earns its name too, spraying soap three times farther than any standard nozzle tip to enable the machine to penetrate tough stains and improve cleaning results.

Concluding the attachment saga is the Power Broom. Its telling name hides 12-inch surface coverage and high-pressure nozzles so that you can clean decks and patios and sweep sidewalks and driveways within minutes.

Review of Generac 6882 GPW 2900PSI Power Washer SPEEDW

Covering Residential Needs

From the construction angle, the machine is not trailing behind its attachments too. Aside from the engine that we've already assessed, there's also the model's pump, both balanced throughout the axle to enable effortless maneuverability, making the machine say to move. Likewise, the Never-Flat™ wheels will too be contributing to this cause, allowing you to transport the machine without hiccups even when the terrain is rough. The on-board detergent tank makes things pretty easy but not as easy as the 30-foot high-pressure hose, kink-resistant and non-marring to move around the yard without any restrictions.

Before wrapping this one up, everything that we have mentioned above is supported by the model's sturdy metal frame with its powder-coated finish, protected against corrosion formations and keeping the machine tough enough to handle occasional hits and bumps.

Long story short, the Generac 6882 is the most complete washing system in its class, from its 2900-PSI engine to the entire construction to the adaptable attachments.

Kärcher K5 Premium

Time-Proven Quality

Let's face it, when you are going to buy a pressure washer you definitely don't want to waste your money. We assure you that Karcher K5 Premium is worth every penny since this pressure washer is one of the most efficient models among the electric ones. Karcher company has been manufacturing pressure washers for many years and became the worldwide renowned company known for its high quality and reliable goods. First of all, we'd like to mention that this medium-duty appliance is equipped with a 2100-watt motor that produces up to 2000 PSI at 1.4 GPM. Quite outstanding figures for an electric pressure washer.

But what we like most about Karcher pressure washer is that it is designed with the water-cooled induction motor that prevents overheating and thus, ensures long-term operation. The electric power washer is suitable for use on wooden fences, patios, concrete or asphalt driveways, and lacquered surfaces.

Karcher K5 comes fitted with a trigger gun and a 25-feet long high-pressure hose. The hose can be easily connected to the appliance through the quick connect high-pressure outlet and what's more, is stored on a high-pressure hose reel.

As regards the spraying nozzles, the very model comes with 2 spray wands and each one is meant for different cleaning purposes. Thus, the Vario Power Spray is recommended for everyday use or some light cleaning. The attachment allows you to adjust a cleaning pressure jet by rotating the wand to the "Max" or "Min" positions.

For some heavy cleaning jobs and stubborn dirt removal, the Dirtblaster wand would come in handy. Use the wand for solid surfaces only such as concrete or asphalt but don't try to wash your car, using it. The wand provides such a powerful jet that it can easily damage lacquered surfaces. Use different detergents to enhance the cleaning process. The Plug ’n’ Clean system allows users to quickly fix and remove the tank.

Review of Kärcher K5 Premium Premium Electric Pressure Washer

About Karcher Company

The inventor Alfred Kärcher founded the company in 1935 and few people are aware that at the time the Kärcher company used to design and work out industrial submersible heating elements. In 1950 the company received an order from the US army for steam cleaners repairs. This order was exactly what induced Alfred Kärcher to fine-tune the appliance and produce his own pressure washer in 1950. The invention was a real breakthrough in the company's growth that predetermined their future business activity and popularity.

Kärcher’s main focus switched to cleaning equipment and the company’s product range was expanded to the entire field of cleaning tools (sweepers, scrubber driers, wet and dry vacuums, vacuum cleaners, battery-powered brooms, steam cleaners, etc). Nowadays, Kärcher is the leading company in the manufacturing of cleaning equipment that constantly comes up with new solutions to help people spend less time and effort on household tasks.

GreenWorks GPW1602

Tackles Tough Jobs

The GreenWorks GPW1602 lands where budget pressure washers reside, with its beyond modest price tag but also somewhat compromised specs. When you sell these machines at less than 100 bucks, sacrifices are necessary to keep the business afloat. Despite these necessary sacrifices though, the model's not as modest as its price would suggest. Sure, the 1600-PSI motor at 1.2 GPM will not be competing with premium engines but its output will prove enough to blast through grime and dirt, restoring weathered surfaces. More often than not, this output will allow you to tackle the toughest jobs, provided you're not considering non-residential applications. Also, contrasting its gas-based relatives, the model's easy to start, without pulling any cords.

The machine's more compact than its expensive counterparts and much more lightweight, capping at only ~11.5 x 17 x 9.5 inches and 16 pounds. Needless to say, you can easily carry the unit over different obstacles like steps. The huge padded handle will enable comfortable relocation, so you can even use two hands when necessary. Around the yard, this pressure washer will be using two nimble and maneuverable wheels to move. These wheels are pretty great at what they do except that the coating starts wearing out eventually, so the machine becomes less maneuverable with time.

Review of GreenWorks GPW1602 1600 PSI 13 Amp 1.2 GPM Pressure Washer

Vertically and Horizontally Too

What will not change with time is the 35-foot cord allowing you to move around the yard without keeping you too tied to the outlet. Plus, adopting inline GFCI, this cord is compatible with most external outlets. On the same subject, the model's 20-foot hose with its high-pressure disposition will extend the reach to make sure you do not have to drag the machine every few feet with you. To add more, the hose's tough plastic construction will not be wearing down with time.

Everything else here is comparable to standard pressure washers, to some extent. The machine lets you choose between two spray patterns: 25 and 40 degrees, switching between more targeted and more spread streams. Unlike its bulky peers, the unit can be used both vertically and horizontally, improving stability and giving you more placement options. The shipped detergent bottle is attachable, working with the soap applicator to remove tough stains and stubborn dirt spots.

Bottom line, the GreenWorks GPW1602 will allow you to make short work of cleaning cars, decks, patios, fences, driveways, and sidewalks without purchasing expensive and bulky machinery.

What Is a Pressure Washer?

In this review, we compare the best pressure washers for use in detached houses and garages. It’s the most effective tool to fight against dirt, grime, mud, old paint, and dust. A powerful water flow under high pressure and at a high velocity can quickly remove all types of pollution and ensure excellent cleaning results in the shortest terms. Using these machines, you're able to remove stains from different surfaces, clean cars, RVs, and boats, wash patios, driveways, and even buildings. A pump of a pressure washer is geared by the power of electric engine so a water flow can be regulated for higher efficiency in a custom way. The pump is connected to a hose and a spray gun that also can be regulated for water spraying control.

Different models range from ~15 to 60 pounds weight-wise, so sometimes two wheels and a passable handle is enough to make the machine comfortable to use, but when the unit starts approaching that ~60-pound mark, you want to make sure that the wheels are large enough to overcome small obstacles because you do not want to be carrying 60 pounds from the garage and around the yard.

We also suggest considering one of the best wet-dry vacuums.

Best Pressure Washers

What Features to Compare

Water Pressure

If you have a big house, a store of some kind or garage, having a pressure washer is a must. This tool will prove indispensable for cleaning dirt, grime and old paint from decks, patios, siding, etc. In fact, there's hardly a better tool for tackling heavy cleaning projects. Generating a high-power water flow, pressure washers can blast away the heaviest contamination in close to no time.

All pressure washers can be divided into two types: those that use an electric motor and those that come with a gas engine.

When it comes to gas-powered washers, these are considered the most powerful. They are able to generate water pressure from 2000 - 2800 pounds per square inch (psi) and can effectively clean stubborn grime from tough concrete and hard metal surfaces. The downside is, they are usually quite bulky in size and rather complicated in terms of upkeep - unlike electric models, they need fuel-mixing, accurate tuneup, and hand pull-starting. Plus, they are quite noisy in operation requiring using additional protection to avoid damaging hearing.

Electric pressure washers are less demanding in use - they quickly start, require no fueling and produce almost no noise. Furthermore, they produce enough water power to tackle most surfaces, including delicate ones such as wood, outdoor furniture, vehicle interior, grills, etc. without damaging them. The only inconvenience about electric machines is that they need to be connected to a grid, which can be a problem if the cord is too short. That said, using extension cords can solve that issue.

Usability

No matter which water pressure you choose, consider additional nozzles that come supplied with the machine. It's the nozzle that creates the pressure in the water spray that hits the surface, so choosing the right set is quite important. Most pressure washers come including 4-5 nozzle types: 0-degree, 15-degree, 25-degree, 40-degree and soap applicator.

0-degree creates a small but very powerful jet of water. It's recommended to use it for removing ingrained stains and grime such as tar, oil, glue, gum, and the like. Keep note though that it must not be used on wood, plastic and other delicate surfaces since the concentrated water jet can easily damage them.

15-degree incorporates a narrow fan which outputs enough power to remove paint, mildew, rust and dirt allowing you to prepare surfaces for painting, re-sealing or staining. If you tread carefully and use it from some distance, it can also be used for cleaning lawn tools and vehicles.

25-degree can be used for most cleaning projects. It's the most common nozzle perfect for removing debris, sweeping away leaves, mud, and other contamination that doesn't sit deep in a cleaning surface.

40-degree is best used for light cleaning when you need to clean windows, cars, blinds, etc. It can also be used for rinsing off cleaning solutions.

Soap nozzle creates the lowest pressure. It has a large orifice that allows it to decrease the water velocity, thus notably increasing the pressure in the hose. This results in pulling the detergent that you can easily apply.
