Wall Control 30-WRK-400 BB

Any Load Will Do

The Wall Control 30-WRK-400 BB is mean. Made from high-strength, 20-gauge metal, this board is ~10 times stronger than conventional pegboards. As long as you balance the weight, each panel will be able to support ~100 pounds. The panels will not start warping, fraying, or craking, even if you show them very little love. Sure, that also makes the panels relatively heavy but that's the trade-off we're willing to make. Meanwhile, the magnetic powder-coated finish makes the board attractive and resistant against rust and corrosion.

The board accepts standard 1/4-inch pegs, that goes without saying. Apart from that though, this thing also accepts Wall Control slotted hooks, brackets, and shelves. These are much more secure and give you more wiggle room to store and organize the way you see fit. Plus, the slotted hooks' patented engagement includes improved hook security to enable even more hassle-free tool storage.

Last but not least, the frame return flange gives you not only ample hook clearance but also full access to all holes, so you won't have to install additional framework or waste pegboard holes for mounting. Add to that the overall package and you can make an argument that this board will be able to improve most garages, tool cribs, shops, and garden sheds.

WallPeg AM 202

Plastic Can do You Good

The WallPeg AM 202 will make sure you waste as little time as possible. The board comes with its back fully ribbed, so you'll be able to install this thing within minutes armed with nothing but one screwdriver.

Construction-wise, made from tough polyethylene plastic, the board is scratch-resistant and its paintwork will not start chipping off with time. Plus, its mastic construction makes the pegboard immune to rust, so you can put the board outside without worrying about the elements.

Sure, even the toughest polyethylene plastic is not as tough as most metals, meaning the board might start warping/bending with time, so we would recommend treading with caution. Somewhat offsetting the preceding issue is the fact that the board is spaced from the wall with molded ribs, adding strength with these nice-looking sides, also freeing you from having to use spacers or furring.

The complete board measures 48" x 24", with three panels sitting at 16" x 24". You can hang these panels together or separately.

To sum this up, the WallPeg AM 202 is more flexible and less demanding than most pegboards. Also, the reinforced flush-mounting holes attach the board to the wall, so you won't have to use the peg holes to mount the board, warping and sometimes damaging it.

Wall Control 30-P-3232GV

Galvanized Steel

Constructed from galvanized steel, the Wall Control 30-P-3232GV does not discriminate. The board will be able to accommodate not only standard pegs but also slotted hooks, brackets, and shelves. In other words, this pegboard will let separate and organize the instruments according to any needs and preferences. Besides that, the galvanized steel makes sure the holes do not start fraying and wearing out with time. The company lets you choose between 10 colors, including relatively unorthodox options like red, yellow, and orange.

The board includes two panels, measuring 16 x 32 inches each. Since the panels mount directly into studs or sheetrocks, you won't require an extra framework. Some might find the pegs themselves relatively difficult to install because the holes are made versatile to accept hooks, shelves, and brackets but, with time, you'll get used to them. What you won't have to get used to is the patented design that juggles different hole patterns to enable more secure hook engagement with slotted accessories.

Bottom line, the Wall Control 30-P-3232GV is more than the price would suggest, packing the company's numerous inventive solutions but without costing you what Wall Control products usually cost.

Azar 771620-WHT

Professional Peggable Appearance

The Azar 771620-WHT has been designed and engineered to simplify storage and organization first and foremost, which is why you won't find any gimmicks here. All you have is two plastic panels that measure 16" x 20" each. You can mount these panels onto most flat surfaces, adding this smooth and professional peggable profile to any space necessary. The one-sided panels will be able to accommodate retail environments and household supply organization needs with matching ease.

The board has been constructed using plastic alone, which is where both its advantages and disadvantages come from. The advantages include the fact that the board is lightweight and, injection-molded, the pegboard creates this single plastic unit that's relatively strong and fairly durable. Emphasis on the relative part though because the panels will usually be unable to support more than 60-70 pounds, which is not bad but we've seen more capable boards before. That said, these boards are usually made from various metals, making them susceptible to rust and corrosion, which is not the case with these plastic panels.

In short, you can use this board to add different hooks, bins, buckets, and trays, organizing loose items and customizing the space with unmatched efficiency.

Dorman 29993

FusionLock™ Holes

The Dorman Hardware 29993 is the most affordable, compact, and, admittedly, basic solution on this list. Measuring 16 x 16 inches and made from lightweight plastic, the single panel is basically portable. You can attach different tools to the pegboard, throw the board into the trunk, and bring them with you when necessary, already organized and separated. Fitted with pre-drilled holes, this board takes minutes to install onto most walls. To add more, the FusionLock™ holes not only aid wall-mounting but also let you put two boards together and make them seem like one, which is important from an aesthetics standpoint.

The jury is still out on its construction though. More specifically, the pegboard is not 100% flat, something that different customers can find beneficial as well as inconvenient.

The proverbial jurors are not out and have reached a decision regarding its load capacity, the decision being guilty, guilty of being able to support 50 pounds (as long as you distribute the weight evenly across the panel), which is pretty impressive considering the lightweight plastic body measuring only 1.75 pounds.

In other words, the Dorman Hardware 29993 won't cost you much and will quickly pay for itself with its massive storage/organization convenience.

Review of Dorman 29993 Hardware Pegboard

What Is a Pegboard?

Different tool holders and organizers like workbenches and tool boxes are great, we've not much against them. That being said, these organizers take away precious space, space that you usually want to conserve, from garages and even kitchens to craft rooms, basements, workshops, garden sheds.

That's not something that you can say about pegboards. Sure, they take away wall space but that space is much less precious because there are way fewer items you can mount onto walls. Plus, unlike workbenches and such, these boards not only let you store and organize different tools but also keep them accessible, so that you do not have to rummage through various items trying to find the right instrument/accessory/whatnot. To top things off, pegboards let you put your favorite power tools on display, so you can highlight your undoubtedly impressive collection.

All you have to do is make sure the board accepts 1/4-inch pegs since these are the prevalent type. Other than that, pay attention to the construction and the hole pattern and you should be able to figure out the right board for your needs.
