Atree 3-in-1

Fast and Accurate Results

The Atree 3-in-1 Soil pH Meter lets you measure the soil's moisture as well as pH value and sunlight intensity, not unlike most testers. The difference here is that this one is more accurate and takes less time than its competition. Stick the probes into the soil and, once a few minutes pass, this device will give you more or less accurate results (though we'd recommend waiting ~10 minutes to make sure the results are 100% accurate).

Also, the probes that come with this model are relatively short (they're usually above 7 inches and these ones measure 6.7 inches, so we're not talking about some obscene difference here). As always, you should stick the probes 4-6 inches so that you can remove them without difficulties. Wipe the probes clean and you're done.

Because they're made from high-tensile metal, you can reuse them as many times as necessary without worrying about bending them. Last but not least, this device works without batteries, meaning that the initial cost will not start stretching down the line.

All things considered, the Atree 3-in-1 Soil pH Meter will let you ensure that plants receive adequate sunlight, that you're not over- or underwatering them, or that the soil is not high in alkaline or acid content.

yoyomax Soil Test Kit pH

More Comprehensive

Unlike similar products in the range, the Yoyomax professional test kit utilizes two tester stems instead of one. And it's not without reason since the tester's intended use goes far beyond the functionality of a simple water meter.

With this test kit, you'll get 3 different meters in one box including a moisture tester and indoor light and soil pH indicators. What is more, the device doesn’t require any alkaline batteries or electricity for operation. Instead, the unit is equipped with a single solar battery that is self-rechargeable, subject to enough direct light access during the day.

Since there is only one pointer for all three gauges, you will need to cycle through the units before testing the soil. Luckily, the device features a handy push switch to select the necessary meter, so, the whole process will take just a few seconds.

The light sensor, on the other hand, is located under the gauge and, as a result, has to be pointed upwards or put in a tilted position facing the light source in order to perform a correct measurement.

By using this device, you will be able to cut all the guesswork out of measurement tasks. You will know precisely how often you should water your home plants, what is the best spot for each of the pots under the light, and how acidic the soil actually is. Without any doubt, this test kit from Yoyomax is a multifunctional device that will be essential for any gardener out there.

Ruolan Soil Ph Meter

Large Screen and Upgraded Probes

The Ruolan Soil pH Meter comes equipped with sensitive sensors and upgraded probes. Using these probes, the model detects and analyzes light intensity, moisture, pH levels, and acidity that the soil you're using is offering. The large screen that this device is adopting will also make the values easily readable. However, despite upgrading the probes and improving the sensors, the model still sometimes displays inaccurate results on the first try, so we would prescribe reusing this device when the values make less sense than they should.

The upside is that upgrading the probes this time also meant stretching them out. On that note, using the 7.9-inch, you'll be able to dig deep without worrying that removing the probe might become a difficult task. We can extend the same sentiment towards the probes' construction, incorporating high-strength copper and aluminum to prevent them from deforming and/or with time. To add more, the model produces results in a decreased timespan, drawing values in less than a minute.

Summing this up, armed with the Ruolan Soil pH Meter, you'll be able to ensure that your garden and/or lawn look better than your neighbors', maybe even making them seethe with jealousy.

SSAWcasa Soil PH Meter

Forget Guesswork

The SSAWcasa Soil pH Meter is a modest device but also an effective one. Its housing seems to be made from cheap plastic but this is not the device that should be able to withstand heavy-duty (ab)use anyway, which means that the problem is negligible.

Despite the flimsy housing, with its help, you can forget about guesswork and start making the plants happy. Somewhere around 10 minutes will give you a pretty comprehensive idea regarding the soil condition. You'll know whether the plants are getting enough sunlight, if they're being overwatered or underwatered, or if the soil is acidic. The pH gauge leaves something more to be desired but the values are still accurate and readable, so the issue is manageable.

Still, make sure that you're not forcing the probes into especially hard soil and that they're not touching hard objects. Also, leaving them in the soil for more than 10-15 minutes will not make the results any more accurate. When the soil's dry, you can try watering it before using the meter.

Long story short, the SSAWcasa Soil pH Meter will tell you where to plant plants, when to feed them, and when they're receiving enough love from the sun. Plus, this device works straight from the box without batteries.

Sonkir MS02 3-in-1 Soil Moisture

Do not Forget the Instructions and the Gift Box

The Sonkir MS02 borrows everything that makes this product what it is from the same playbook that most pH meters are following. Armed with this device, soil testing becomes a much less arduous task. Aside from this proverbial playbook, the model is shipped with an instruction manual that outlines comprehensive guidelines and useful suggestions. You also receive a lovely little gift box, a nice touch even though one might argue that these testers do not necessarily make great gifts.

Performance-wise, what this pH tester for soil and water brings to the table is primarily the double-needle detection tech that improves the speed as well as accuracy with which the device detects and analyzes moisture and acidity. What the model is also bringing to the table though is somewhat fragile probes that will bend if you're not erring on the side of caution with them.

On the bright side, they're made mostly of aluminum (with some copper sprinkled here and there), so the probes are not afraid of rust and corrosion coming with moisture. In other words, as long as you're careful, the Sonkir MS02 will prove just as helpful as the more expensive models and, weighing just 3.2 ounces, even more portable than those models.

What Is a Soil pH Tester?

If you want your fruits, vegetables, and flowers to grow strong, there are a few things you need to make sure of. First, you need to make sure the plants are receiving sufficient sunlight, meaning not just light duration but also quality and intensity. Second, you need to ensure that you're not drowning these plants and, likewise, that you're not skimping on water. Third and last, the soil's pH level, meaning its acidity and alkaline content should be within the acceptable range. When these conditions are met, the plants start prospering. Meeting these conditions without relying upon soil pH testers is no small feat though.

These devices let you test everything that we've outlined above (meaning the light intensity, the moisture, and the pH level of the soil you're using. They're affordable, portable, and, more often than not, accurate digital readers that can work without drawing power from batteries. The best models work fine indoors and just as fine outdoors. They usually come equipped with a sizable display to make the values readable and relatively long probes to let you easily stick them into the soil.

While we're on the gardening subject, we would also recommend looking either into these motion-activated systems or expandable garden hoses.
