Polaroid Pop 2.0

A Blend of Old and New Technology

The Polaroid Pop 2.0 doesn’t look like an old-fashioned instant camera from Polaroid that we remember. This model is also made bigger than its peers. This means two things: better grip and larger photos. You can still enjoy those Polaroid-style photos though.

The wide LCD touch screen gives many benefits too: from photo editing to easy camera set up to adding emojis and stickers onto a captured photo to recording HD videos. Moreover, you can add text and titles to your photos and print them instantly to give as a keepsake. Also, the camera allows you to backup photos and videos. It has a slot for microSD cards with up to 128 Gb capacity.

Handy features don't end up here. This model is equipped with an auto print mode that stops instant printing when you turn it off. With its help, you can select which photos to print, save, or delete. This mode saves you much film for a better shot.

We also like that this Polaroid camera supports Wi-Fi and has a comprehensive accompanying app. You can connect your cam to a printer or use any compatible gadget to edit and make larger copies of your favorite photos. As for other handy features, Pop 2.0 has a flash for shooting under dim light and a glossy surface that you can use to make selfies. Positively, if you are looking for a top-notch instant camera, Pop 2.0 is your best bet.

Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 (Kit)

Packed to the Brim

When you buy Fujifilm, you buy a lot more than just a high-end print camera. You also buy a bunch of additional stuff for easy photography right off the box. But first things first! So let's start with the camera.

To produce bright and detailed images, the Instax Mini 9 is equipped with the Fujinon 60mm f/12.7 lens and a flash for shooting in low-light conditions. It adjusts the flash and light automatically thanks to the built-in light sensor. The camera has 4 light modes. There is also a small selfie mirror right next to the lens, so each of your selfies will be great. We also like the option to attach a close-up lens. It helps you make short distance photographs more detailed and crisp. It improves the quality of your selfies too.

Moving on, the Mini 9 has a sleek design. Smooth edges and easy-to-reach buttons provide a strong grip and convenient operation. On the backside of the camera, you will notice a small film counter right next to the film cover. It tells you how much photo paper is left.

This model runs on 2 AA batteries so you can use either rechargeable or conventional batteries. As for the color range, this model is available in a variety of colors, from bright flamingo pink to smokey white to meet the taste of every user.

The package also deserves special attention because, unlike many other instant cameras, the Instax Mini 9 comes loaded with a bunch of handy stuff. You get a camera, film, a sturdy camera case for safekeeping and carrying it, a close-up lens for macro shooting, colored filters, frames, and stickers to add spice to your photos. To put it differently, this is a real treasure trove for instant photography enthusiasts.

Polaroid Snap

Fits the Pocket and the Budget

Looking at the Polaroid Snap, what stands out first is its user-friendly design. The camera is equipped with a 10mp 1/3.2" CMOS image sensor and a 3.4mm f/2.8 lens. It has a built-in flash for shooting in dim light and a slot for 32 Gb microSD cards to store your photos in case you'd like to make a bigger copy. Photo printing is very fast. The camera needs only 1 minute to develop an image.

Making group photos is the easiest thing in the world with the Polaroid Snap because it has a self-timer and a tripod mount on the bottom. Plus, you can add a retro look to your group images by switching to the retro mode. This model also shoots in color and black and white. Last but not least, the camera makes a beeping noise when the photo is taken. With its help, making a great shot is very easy.

Handy features don't end up here though. The lens cover is made magnetic, so you don't have to worry about it dangling around. The camera runs on a lithium-Ion battery that charges pretty quickly via any micro USB charger. Finally, we can't avoid mentioning a pocketable design of this model, making the Polaroid Snap very compact. It fits an average hand perfectly. Such a huge advantage for travelers, isn't it?

What customers say about this product

Kodak Printomatic

Memories That Will Last a Lifetime

The Kodak Printomatic instant camera is made compact, solid, and reasonably priced. It has a pretty simple user-friendly design, a wide lens, and a 10mp sensor to produce detailed and crisp photos. This model shoots both in color and black and white. It has a color switch on the top side, right next to the shutter button. Equipped with a flash and a light sensor, this cam automatically adapts to the lighting conditions, letting you capture great photos regardless of the environment.

There is also a MicroSD slot for 32 Gb cards. It will backup your photos so that you can make bigger copies or store them on your PC. The Printomatic works on a built-in lithium-ion battery. It is capable of making up to 30 photos on one charge (though the number will be smaller when you use a flash). The photos here are quite small (2x3 inches). But they have no borders, so the pictures don't seem tiny. They also come bright and clean.

We like that Kodak uses a Zink technology to print photos, so you don't need to mess around with cumbersome cartridges, ink, etc. Zink paper is all you need. The photo paper by Kodak is worth special attention too though. It is very durable, tear-resistant, and waterproof, so you will have to try your best to damage any of your photos. It also has an adhesive backside so that you can stick them on a scrapbook, notebook, or make a photo collage.

Fujifilm Instax Square SQ6

More Shooting Options

The Instax Square SQ6 offers the user clear and crisp images, an easy-to-operate design, and plenty of modes and settings that give more freedom to snapshot.

First, we'd like to talk about picture quality. In short, it is great here. The camera has a wide-angle lens with a focal length of about 66mm. It retracts into the body when not in use and changes its length and focus depending on the chosen mode. At one side of the lens, you will notice a small selfie mirror. It helps you make better shots so that everyone can be in the frame. The flash and light sensor is located on the other side. The print camera has a range of shooting options that the majority of instant cameras lack. It includes a selfie, macro, landscape, and double-exposure modes (it allows you to make very bright pictures darker).

You will also notice 3 buttons on the backside of the camera: the mode, the timer, and the flash on/off buttons. The photo timer can be set for 10 seconds, thus giving you enough time to join a group selfie. There is a handy paper counter on the back. It tells you how much photo paper is left. The SQ6 also has a tripod mount for clear selfies.

Finally, we find an Instagram-inspired design pretty attractive as well as the quality of materials used in the production of this model. The camera is definitely made to last!

What Is an Instant Camera?

Perhaps each of us remembers those times when we used to share our photos with friends in printed version instead of posting them on Facebook, Instagram or any other social network. We had real photo books with real photos, all glossy and shiny smelling of fresh film. Back at those times, Polaroid company made it possible to print a photo shortly after it's being taken by using a self-developing film.

Alas, in the present days, most people choose to keep digital pics instead of those on a film, and that's a big shame. If you share our opinion and would like to have some printed photos too, opt for an instant camera. Modern instant cameras differ from their ancestors in weight and are available in analog and digital variations. What's more, the size of a printed pic doesn't exceed the dimensions of an ordinary credit card so you can easily keep some notable photos in your purse.

Further, we're going to review 5 best instant cameras and specify the benefits of each model, thereby making a choice for you much easier. For those, looking for a camera to take digital photos, reading our review on mirrorless cameras may come in useful. Users who mostly take photos of distant objects should definitely obtain a bridge camera to achieve the best possible quality.
