Depending on the recipe it makes the same amount as 1 regular box of ice cream from the store.
20 -25 min is proper time, Slightly less than is ok if you put less total ice-cream mix. I don't recommend going more than 30min!
I have had this ice cream maker for about a month now and I love it (as do my friends). I have made, mexican chocolate, blueberry gram swirl, blackberry, lemon poppy seed and lemon gram ice cream. I haven't made sorbet or frozen yogurt so I will only speak to its ice cream making capacity.
The capacity is just right for two or three servings so you don't need one of the big monster capacity machines
Do not over load the bowl with a lot of addetive ingredients. Its going to be difficult to freeze and unit as one texture. like adding a lot of chocolate ships or a lot of shredded coconut, that is no no.
Works Ok. Does not have the 1.5 Quart capacity. It overflows easily and makes a mess
I wish it had a bit higher capacity, as some of my recipes end up spilling over the top a bit.

Using the 1 1/2 quart model I was always scaling down recipes or hovering over the ice cream as it churned with a spoon, stealing spoonfuls ice cream as it threatened to overflow the ice cream maker because I overfilled it (not that I really minded that). I like the 2 quart size for those reasons
This is a wonderful device! We use it all the time and it works extremely well. It makes decently large sized batches (a full 2 quarts), and produces are nice consistency
I bought this over the cheaper Cuisinart ice cream maker because I wanted the larger size (2qt vs 1.5qt). My biggest hesitation was so many reviews complained about the noise level. It runs for 25-30 minutes so I'm not sure that it's really an issue.
Perfect size and batch. My grand dghtrs and I are making great memories and dee-licious ice cream. I had no idea that it was possible to create such awesome, creamy delicious-ness at home. Everyone says its better than store bgt I only know its fabulous.
Even though this machine is rated as a 2 Qt. ice-cream maker, if you use the B&J recipes don't try to double the batch size of the recipe. B&J's recipe say they are for one quart but it completely filled the two Qt.bowl.
This makes decent ice cream fairly fast. It is extremely loud while it is running. Our previous Cuisinart Ice cream maker was almost silent.
Like it, but don't love it. Almost more hassle with clean up then making ice cream without maker. Most recipes give serving size and not 1qt , 1.5qt etc... so makes it difficult to calculate 2qt servings.

This machine is great. Just the right size for the 2 of us, works well, does the job. No messing around with ice and salt
The ice cream will double in size as it freezes so bear that in mind- if it only looks half full to start that is ok! In about 15 minutes it may start to grow out of the top if you have too much in, but that's great for the chef to sample anyway.
Love! This is the perfect size for us Empty Nesters. It gives us 3 or 4 nights of ice cream. It's so much easier to use than back in the 80s when I had to pack Ice and salt rock around the canister.
Storage takes a very small amount of space. I put the ice cream made in a Rubbermaid container in the freezer and wash & dry canister and it's stored in the freezer
Size is one of the things I love the most cause smaller container fits in our freezer here and if I end up making something we don't like, it won't take forever to finish it!
Another note, when I was done making ice cream, the bowl still felt frozen. No slushing. The sponge I used to wash it stuck to it and the leftover water after rinsing quickly turned to ice, which is kind of tricky, so I had to rinse again and wipe dry right away.
If I had to buy it again, I would not buy this one though. Most recipes I find are for 1.5 quarts, and this is the device's capacity. Sometimes, depending on ingredients, the batch will run over the top. I could reduce the recipe but I think I would prefer a 2 quart machine instead.

Very nice finish, and does not take up much counter space. This size was perfect. Also, the quality is very good. There are a few plastic pieces, but this is a good quality unit. It is not industrial, but not cheap.
Perfect, easy to use and clean after use! We are an older couple and the size is just what we need to fit our desires for ice cream any time we have a craving.
The unit is built well and not so large that it cannot be stored in our cupboard without taking up too much room
Perfect size for a family treat. This is a great item for any family that is looking to occasionally make ice cream for a family treat. One batch makes roughly 8 servings. leftover can be placed in the freezer for a treat for another day.
Great value for the price. You need this larger size. The smaller 1.5 quart is too small for 1 quart recipes if you add anything like nuts or fruit. This one is the perfect size. I find myself using it way more often than I expected.
When taking ice cream out it freezes to container so fast and when scrape off need plastic or it will scratch material of maker;
The base is very big for the amount of icecream that is created. I wish the icecream could be stored in the vessel it's made in though, instead of requiring a separate freezer-safe and size-appropriate container.

It is a little more like a heavy soft-serve ice cream when done. I don't think I will ever buy ice cream at the store again. Oh, keep bowl in coldest part of freezer for best results before using.
I noticed that I can increase the hardness of my ice-cream by manually spreading the ice-cream mix to touch all inside surfaces of the bowl while still on by using rubber spatula. I do that in the last 2-3min before I turn off the machine.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Ditto to all the other rave reviews. I'll add more stars for the cord slot feature in the back. When finished, you just push the cord through the slot and it is tidy and out of the way. I wish ALL small appliances came with this feature.
This has been so much fun to use! We keep it in the freezer at all times. Clean up is simple.... one of the best features.
I just created my first batch of home made ice cream and it came out perfect thanks to the Cuisinart ICE-21. This machine features a “freezer bowl” which eliminates the need for ice cubes. It also spins itself — no more hand churning!
Churns some good ice cream but its very basic. The bowl itself rotates while the "mixer" portion stays in place inside. Seems to work well but no timer or any other features at all. On and off is it with a whole to add the mix and ingredients.
What disappointed us the most was that the voltage, which is a comparably important feature not highlighted in the box or in the manual. I just came to find it at the base of the machine.

If you share your frozen dessert as we do, buy some containers like White Pint Frozen Dessert Containers 25 Pack (8 oz) or better yet the single serve size of 4 oz. People don't feel guilty eating an entire 4 oz custard. I just recommend sharing your dessert or your tummy will expand!
This ice cream machine is amazing! Expecially when your looking for vegan ice cream. Not to many flavors to choose from. Now I can make my own dairy free ice cream and frozen yogurt without spending too much money. I do recommend this!
I would recommend purchasing the recipe book with it though as we ran out of ideas right off the bat. With our rural location it is nice to be able to make ice cream without having to drive a 50 mile round trip.
The freezer bowl is awesome. Works great without having to add ice or rock salt like other ice cream makers. Very pleased with the purchase and look forward to trying new recipes in the future.
Base on the functionality for this product, it works really well. It makes more than enough ice cream for two people.
Only other thing is I wish it has more details in the receipt book. So far our ice cream comes out perfect, but every time we put it in the freezer it gets really hard.
