Decent range, reception and filtering on par with most big brand HT, can't beat this price.
Performance of the UV-82 also is excellent. Loaded with features, a very sensitive receiver and real 5W power.
These radios communicate crisp and clear through 1/2 mile of mature woods.
Very nice. When paired with the extended antenna the range is great for a 5w handheld. Great bang for your buck!
Has surprising long range ability. Buy the after-market antenna that extends range even more.

They work well and the range is pretty impressive.
These transceivers pick up commercial frequencies such as police, fire, EMS, weather, etc.
For what it is, it is a quite capable dual band radio.
The reception is good, the transmission appears to be good and I was able to program it easily using chirp.
The frequency range it's great. From 400 to 520 mhz in UHF. And it also handles VHF frequency.

Worked well with CHIRP and had no problems interfacing it with my computer, not that I expected to since I do own another Beofeng.
The flashlight is a great feature and nicely done. The auto key lock is very useful.
This radio has a lot of good features including double ptt buttons.
It offers features only available in $300 plus radios. It offers voice commands that can be used by the visually impared user.
Radio is easy to program and use. I like the FM radio feature allows me to listen to radio and monitor the two way at the same time.

The battery lasts about 24 hours of average use, and it's easy to learn/use.
