A.B Crew 350W

Throwing and Shaping with the Crew

The A.B Crew 350W Electric Pottery Wheel hits its competition where it hurts. Featuring forward and reverse bidirectional controllers, the machine gives you more options, while the advanced brushless motor remains stable and quiet. But its biggest selling point is not that. Well, maybe it is. However, it might also be the single-phase three-wire connection with earth leakage protection, keeping the machine's operation safe and reliable.

The people behind this pottery wheel are claiming that its blue colors are brilliant, giving the model a beautiful appearance. But, unless you're from Britain, brilliant is a strong word that we're not quite comfortable sharing with these machines.

What we're comfortable sharing is the ceramic body spray treatment, the model's compact structure, space-saving footprint, above-average mud shielding, and straightforward operation. Plus, with the fuselage made from a thick steel plate and the plastic parts sprayed, the wheel is built tough as nails and twice as durable, protected from rust, corrosion, and deformation. We're not crazy about the splash pan on this one.

Other than that, the A.B Crew 350W Electric Pottery Wheel will accommodate pottery DIY shops and professional use. It will enable ceramic pottery throwing and shaping, letting you create, teach, and entertain.

SEAAN 350W

The Trick's Revealed

Pottery wheels can seem tricky initially. With the SEAAN 350W Electric Pottery Wheel Machine, the proverbial trick is revealed. Employing LCD touch-controlled and pedal-controlled switches, the machine enables quick and easy speed changes. With these controls, you can land anywhere between 0 and 320 RPM.

Even on the highest speed setting, switching between positive and negative rotation direction, the machine remains smooth. That being said, when you go with the highest speed setting, the model will sometimes start hitching while spinning, which is a little annoying.

What's not annoying is that the variable speeds let you go from centering to throwing to trimming with no hassle at all. What's also not annoying is the 10 ceramic tools that arrive packaged with this pottery wheel. Using these tools, you can realize more art projects. Last but not quite least, the package also includes a removal splash pan. Made from ABS plastic, the pan features two small grids, so you can replace the aforementioned tools with relative ease. And because the enclosed bowl is easily assembled and disassembled, cleaning it will not be especially difficult or time-consuming.

In short, the SEAAN 350W Electric Pottery Wheel Machine will fit experienced customers and complete newbies alike.

YaeTek 350W

Sizable Working Area

The YaeTek 350W Electric Pottery Wheel Machine is a little more basic than the machines that we've reviewed above. More often than not, these wheels come with sculpting tools but this is not the case here. Aside from removing complimentary pottery tools, the model also makes its foot pedal a little too sensitive, so you have to be careful with it. However, you won't have to be careful with the splash pan.

Made from ABS plastic, the pan protects you (and the surrounding area) from spills and splashes, keeping things neat. Plus, the high-strength plastic construction will prevent the pan from deforming with time. Likewise, crafted from hard-wearing aluminum, the machine will not break or deform even when used daily.

With the plate measuring 9.84 inches, the model offers a pretty large working area, so you can throw sizable ceramic ware. The other specs include the usual 350-watt motor and the 0-300 RPM variable speed, making sure that the machine will prove suitable not just for beginners but also for professionals. So, provided you're fine with the fact that the model comes without pottery tools, the YaeTek 350W Electric Pottery Wheel Machine will not leave you feeling disappointed. You can use it at home as well as in a workshop.

SKYTOU 350W

Accessible Storage

The SKYTOU 350W Electric Pottery Wheel has its good points but also its shortcomings that we're not necessarily enthusiastic about. The usual 0-300 RPM speed range is great but, at the highest speed setting, the wheel starts vibrating, an issue that models within this price range usually resolve. On the plus side, to go with mechanical controls and the usual foot pedal, the same models seldom include a handle. Between these three options, you can control the wheel's operation from multiple angles.

There's nothing especially interesting about the model's 350-watt output or its leakage protection system. There is, however, something interesting about the removable splash pan. Outfitted with two small grids, the pan lets you store multiple small pottery tools, keeping them accessible within reach. These tools might even include the eight pottery clay tools that are supplied with the pottery wheel.

Apart from that, borrowing inspiration from its more expensive peers, this machine from SKYTOU integrates non-skid bottom feet that keep the wheel stable. And, with the plate pushing 9.8 inches, you can make different pots, bowls, vases, basins, you name the ceramic ware. Furthermore, the plate's enclosed design prevents the mud from eroding and penetrating into the fuselage.

ZXMT 250W

No Skidding, Slipping, or Sliding

The ZXMT 250W Pottery Wheel Machine is not quite as professional as its neighbors on this list. Capping at 250 watts, the model takes its time shaping ceramic ware. Throwing salt on an otherwise negligible wound, this machine's also pretty loud, pushing 60+ decibels where less affordable models seldom reach that mark.

The good news is that, with its triangle base made from heavy-gauge metal, the machine does not start slipping, skidding, or sliding around even on the highest speed setting. The white ABS plastic basin that comes with the wheel is quite alright at preventing splashes. And, because it is removable, you can always wash the basin and put it back without much hassle. In comparable vein, with its compact structure, the model offers decent mud blocking, preventing mixing chaos rejection.

Not unlike its more budget-hostile acquaintances, this pottery wheel lets you work with 0-300 RPM, accommodating small-time DIY projects as well as large-scale professional endeavors. The speed can be controlled via the foot pedal or the mechanical controls on the front. Throwing the forward and reverse bidirectional controllers into the mix, the ZXMT 250W Pottery Wheel Machine can hold its own against mid-range and even some premium models.

What Is a Pottery Wheel?

Pottery reduces stress. It encourages sociability. Promoting creative expression, pottery serves as an outstanding creative outlet that lets you explore and experiment with different shapes, forms, and pieces. To add more, pottery improves focus and strengthening the hands, wrists, and arms, helping people with arthritis. With pottery, you can capture memories, creating timeless pieces that make excellent gifts.

Of course, the problem with pottery is that throwing at home is seldom convenient. But, with these pottery wheels, both experienced and inexperienced potters should feel pretty comfortable creating adequate ceramic ware without leaving home. These wheels are plenty powerful. They can reach as high as 300+ RPM, accommodating more ambitious projects. More often than not, they come equipped with effective splash pans so that you can throw without worrying that the workspace (or the entire room) will get covered in mood. Besides that, they usually introduce non-skid feet that keep these machines stable.

To go with these pottery wheels, creative people will also appreciate these craft tables or these laser engravers.
