Garrett Ace 150 Metal Detector

The indication what is being detected is sometimes right and sometimes not and it would be unrealistic to expect more from a coil like this. I am surprised it works as well as it does.
The Ace 150 is great for the grandkids because it is so easy to operate and use. It comes with an instruction book and also a instruction CD.
I however found that the ease of use simple operation has even keep me busy this summer at the park. I unit is a complete package with a video instruction DVD that makes hunting an enjoyable past time for kids of all ages.
The only con I could talk about would be a small coil but it has proven its self time and time again.
Mine came with missing parts including the adjustable pipe that connects to the coil .

Garrett Ace 300 Metal Detector

This detector can be modified with different search coils. Great little machine.
These Garrett detectors are well built and its nice that they include the coil cover, headphones and an all weather cover for the display box.
It features a larger, water proof search coil, providing greater depth detection up to 12in.
I think unless you are an extremely serious detectorist or hunt mostly in water this will meet all needs.
This serves my needs quite well as I don't really need the salt water capable features of the Garrett AT Pro.

This unit is very light weight so the need to switch arms is rare.
It is very light to carry yet very well made. I love it and so do my grandkids.

This product is very light, and easy to assemble. My husband was going all around the house last night having a lot of fun with it.
I had it operational in no time and was quickly able to locate and discriminate between different types of metal.

The Garrett Ace 300 is ergonomically designed, light-weight and easy to swing.
Came with headphones, cover for electric box, cover for coil, and booklets. So was a great deal!
I find the weight of the machine sits a little too forward on my forearm as a result, and I do notice it after swinging for long sessions.
I chose the Garrett ACE 300 , it is so accurate and strong and light weight
The overall weight is under 3lbs, making it light and easy to carry, even for younger users.

Awesome machine works great, fast ship, great price. I can't believe how well it works , I did a test with a couple coins a ring a pull tab and a nail and it was dead accurate on depth and identifying .
Great little detector with enough functions/detections for the money, perfect for basic use--just 'putting around'! It does NOT 'eat' the batteries either, a definite plus out in the field.
I purchased this to go metal detecting with my friends. I found so far my friend wedding ring that he lost.
Very happy with this detector. Once you learn how to use the settings to discriminate junk from treasure, it makes detecting much more fun and profitable.

I would recommend it for anybody who is just starting out because it has just enough options to make metal detecting enjoyable. I highly recommend for anybody who starting out.
I purchased this for a metal detecting course, and found very easy to use right from the start.
Very nice unit. I took it out for a few trial runs and it was detecting clearly and consistently on test pieces.
If you are new to metal detecting, the Kindle store has a book called "A Digger's Life" which is an introduction into metal detecting.
The numerical readout is a great improvement over previous models and the frequency upgrade is nice as well.

The coins definitely rung a different sound so that we knew we were onto something good. I
An OK metal detector. Annoyed by the coppers i dig up when it says gold, but that's not the issue, the whole trick is to know the sounds of the metals.
Another con is the headphone jack size. It is compatible only with the large headphone jacks; you know, the old school ones.
The cable was about the size of your little finger and 12" deep. I should have returned it.

Really like all the features this 300 gives you for the price, including the basic accessories.
Very nice, this is my first detector, took me a while to figure out the pinpoint feature you dont just push the button you have to hold it in while you move over the target pretty accurate.
The controls are simple and easy to use and the Ace 300 has a digital target ID, letting you know what's underground, before you dig.
