Sony PlayStation 4 Call of Duty

The King of First-Person Shooters

The world of video games is a vast one, with an array of different genres requiring their players to utilize different skills and use different parts of their brain in order to succeed. From macro and micro controlling platoons, forges, armories and entire armies in real-time strategy games to unleashing the absolute limits of your reaction time and reflexes in fighting games and sports simulators. But if there's one genre that managed to stand out, at the very least in terms of popularity, it would certainly have to be first-person shooter games. It's hard to say whether its the exhilarating action, hair-raising stories, the most compelling graphics or the combination of all of these things put together is what made the genre so popular. But even in such a popular genre that features tens of thousands of video games, there's one title that easily manages to stand out as arguably one of the most recognizable and influential video game series of all time.

Although Call of Duty has managed to grab the attention of gamers all over the world from the get-go, the series exploded in popularity with the fourth iteration of the franchise called Modern Warfare. Ever since then, the game has been able to stand at the forefront of the world of first-person shooters with Call of Duty: Black Ops III unwilling to share that throne with anyone else. Of course, if you wish to enter the online battlefield, you're going to need a gaming station in order to enjoy this rollercoaster of a game. May the Force Be With You

The legendary fable about the power of the Force, the continuous battle between the Sith and the Jedi, and the never-ending conflict between the Rebels and the Empire is a story that very few people would require an introduction to. Ever since the original movie, which is now known as the Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, aired in 1977, the movie has instantly been able to become a cult classic and seamlessly transition from a fan favorite film with a few devoted fans to a box office success. Ever since then, with a countless number of movies, cartoons, video games, comic books, fan fiction stories, and novels, Star Wars managed to become one of the most popular and recognizable franchises of all time.

However, one of the things that Star Wars movies have been known for and appreciated is the quality of special effects and the overall picture and imprinting that onto the world of video games hasn't always been a particularly successful endeavor. That is until DICE came along with the first part of Star Wars Battlefront, a video game based on the already famous Frostbite 3 engine that delivered the kind of graphics that didn't just beat every Star Wars game that came before this one, but could actually even rival the movies in terms of the quality of the picture and cinematography presented in the game. Now, the second iteration of this game has recently hit the shelves, and if you're a fan of Star Wars in general or this video game in particular, there's no better to enjoy that than with PlayStation 4 Pro 1TB Limited Edition Console - Star Wars Battlefront II Bundle.

Upgrade Your Performance

One of the things that ought to be mentioned first about this product is that the console included is not the regular PlayStation 4 model but an upgraded Pro version. What it means is that although the Pro iteration is slightly bigger and heavier, what you're getting is a console that beats a regular PS4 in terms of everything related to performance and the quality of the picture. This device features a considerably faster and more capable central processing unit, a more powerful GPU, an additional gigabyte of Random-Access Memory, 1 TB hard disk drive, an additional USB 3.1 port and the last but by no means least, this model supports a 4k resolution, meaning you're going to be able to enjoy a much more detailed and crisp image in all of your favorite video games.

The Sony PlayStation 4 Pro Limited Edition Console itself sports a truly awesome Darth Vader design as well as a custom DualShock 4 controller inspired by Darth Vader’s chest panel. If you're a fan of Star Wars, you will surely appreciate the Rebels and the Empire iconic symbols featured on the right lower corner and the left upper corner respectively. Naturally, you're also getting a physical copy of Star Wars Battlefront II that includes a variety of additional content you will absolutely find useful in defeating your online opponents. Even if you're not a Star Wars enthusiast, Sony PlayStation 4 Pro Limited Edition Console Star Wars Battlefront II Bundle would still be a great choice for you thanks to the sleek design and all the benefits of the PS4 Pro. And if you do consider yourself to be a fan of the franchise, this PS4 Limited Edition Star Wars console is an absolute must-have for you.

Choose Your Destiny

For the longest time, role-playing and action games have been one of the biggest competitors and the most popular genres in the world of video games. The first one would usually grab the player's attention with a rich and animated world, an engaging overarching plot and the ability to customize your character making it feel more than a soulless husk whose only role is to serve as a tool at a player's disposal. While the latter one would generally engage the players using an exhilarating amount of action that keeps you on the edge of your seat, a simpler but often much more exciting and compelling story and the gameplay that would require every bit of your attention and reflexes to be put into the game in order to succeed.

While it is hard to accurately determine who was the first genius that figured out that you could combine both of these genres and create an ultimate video gaming experience since a variety of different game studios are still fighting over the title due to the fact that the line separating these two types of gaming experienced was somewhat blurry to begin with. But what we do know is that ever since that idea came to fruition, action role-playing games managed to become arguably the most popular video game genre, often rivaling and merging with shooters and other different types of video games. And there hasn't been a better example of that in recent years than Destiny. Set in a so-called mythic science fiction world, the game features a multiplayer "shared-world" environment with elements of role-playing games. Activities in Destiny are divided among Player versus Environment and Player versus Player game types. And if you wish to enjoy Destiny: The Taken King, which is the latest and the biggest major expansion of this franchise, having a Sony PlayStation 4 Limited Edition Console Destiny: The Taken King Bundle by your side is arguably the best way to do that.

Review of Sony PlayStation 4 Limited Edition Console Destiny: The Taken King Bundle

A Sea of Additional Content

Destiny is one of those video games that managed to grab the attention of millions of players worldwide not with an exciting and engaging gameplay but also boasting an incredibly stylish and unique design of the characters, vehicles, weapons, levels, and the world in general. Meaning that Sony ought to have been aware that if they were going to release a Destiny Limited Edition PS4, they had to make their console look as compelling and appealing as the original game itself. And, as per usual, Sony managed to deliver in this regard, supplying their model with an incredibly stylish design that features Destiny’s map of the cosmos in the top/right side of the console imprinted in Gray and the Guardian seal in gold in the middle of the front side of the device. The only thing we could possibly criticize in terms of the design of this model would have to be the fact that the controller is a standard white controller with no additional prints, which is a real shame because the console itself is simply gorgeous.

Along with the console, you get a physical copy of Destiny: The Taken King Legendary Edition and a digital voucher for Destiny: The Taken King Digital Collector's Edition Upgrade. The latter includes not just the newest installment to the game but also all Destiny content released to-date. On top of that, you will receive three emotes, three shaders, three class items for your Guardians, three Legendary gear sets, an Exotic Scout Rifle, a new co-op Strike, and an extra competitive multiplayer map. With all of the additional content included in the package, Sony PlayStation 4 Limited Edition Console Destiny: The Taken King Bundle is a perfect choice for gamers that would prefer to have an extra edge on their opponents.

Sony PlayStation 4 Limited Edition Bundle

A Powerhouse of a Franchise

Although video gaming industry is a relatively new subdivision of the world of information technology, there are already plenty of games and franchises that managed to stand out and become the titans of the industry, with their names being recognized not just by hundreds of millions of gamers all over the world but even by people that aren't interested in gaming and have virtually nothing to do with it. But even among the best of the best, the most popular and the most recognized, very few could possibly hope to rival the fame, critical and public acclaim and reputation of the Final Fantasy series.

What started by Hironobu Sakaguchi in 1987 as his last-ditch attempt to break into the game industry managed to grow into one of the best-selling video game franchises of all time with more than 130 million copies of different Final Fantasy titles sold. And for anyone that is even remotely familiar with the series, this kind of commercial and critical success comes as no surprise given that the franchise is regarded as one of the most influential video gaming series in terms of innovation, visuals, and music, such as the inclusion of full motion videos, photo-realistic character models, and orchestrated music by Nobuo Uematsu. And the latest iteration of that franchise, Final Fantasy XV, evidently does not wish to be an exception to this rule of success. The game features an open-world environment and action-based battle system, incorporating quick-switching weapons, elemental magic, and other elements — such as vehicle travel and camping. With over 2.5 million copies sold, Final Fantasy XV is the fifth-best-selling PlayStation 4 video game. And if you wish to join the ranks of these people, Sony PlayStation 4 Limited Edition Bundle Final Fantasy XV presents the best way to do just that.

Review of Sony PlayStation 4 Limited Edition Bundle Final Fantasy XV

A Minimalistic Solution

Although the astounding visual design of this mode is easily one of the most recognizable features of it, we would be remiss not to mention the console itself first since what we have on our hands is not a regular PlayStation 4 but a Slim version of the gaming device. As you would expect from the name of the model, the Slim one is 1.5 pounds lighter than the regular version of the console and features 10″ x 11″ x 1.5″ of overall dimensions compared to the 10.83" x 12" x 2.09" of a standard PS4. On top of that, you get an additional 500 GB of memory built into your hard drive disk and a redesigned version of a DualShock 4 which is a PS4 special edition controller. The only downside to the Slim version is that it does not feature an optical audio port. But all of the other ports and components, including the two USB 3.0 ports, Ethernet port, HDMI and AUX ports, remain.

The console itself highlights a pretty simplistic yet incredibly stylish design with black overtones featuring a copy of Final Fantasy's Earth on the front with the logo of the game on top of it. The wireless controller sports a fairly similar look with a minimalistic logo on the right handle. By purchasing this special edition bundle, you don't just get a Deluxe Edition of the Final Fantasy XV but also receive a KINGSGLAIVE: Final Fantasy XV movie Blu-Ray, Royal Raiment outfit, Masamune Weapon, Platinum Leviathan, and a Steelbook. Meaning that Sony PlayStation 4 Limited Edition Bundle Final Fantasy XV will be able to satisfy not just those customers that are interested in the game and the console themselves but also avid fans of the franchise that would be absolutely delighted to receive all of the additional merchandise.

Be the Hero Gotham City Needs

The Dark Knight, Gotham's City Silent Guardian and Watchful Protector, the Caped Crusader, World's Greatest Detective, the Defender of Gotham, not to mention the Bat, Bats, and a plethora of other monikers are just one of the few nicknames of Batman, a superhero alter ego of Bruce Wayne, a billionaire, playboy, and philanthropist of the fictional city of Gotham, loosely based on the New York City. Even if you're not a fan of comic books or superhero movies and cartoons in general, there's little to no chance you're unfamiliar with the character itself or you haven't heard him being mentioned countless times in other forms of media. Created in 1939 by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, Batman has almost instantly managed to become an American cultural icon and garner the kind of popularity that possibly no other fictional character would be able to match.

Although the franchise has received countless successful movie and cartoon adaptations, for the longest time the fans of Batman were unable to get a video game adaptation that could pay proper respects to the franchise. That is until the Batman: Arkham series came along. The series has received widespread critical and commercial acclaim selling tens of millions of copies worldwide and garnering nothing but praise from an army of fans and virtually every major video game publication out there. The latest addition to that series, Batman: Arkham Knight, was praised for the story, combat, world designs, gameplay, and visuals. Sony PlayStation 4 Console Batman Arkham Knight Bundle Limited Edition will allow you to take the proverbial wheel as Gotham's City Watchful Protector and clear the streets of everyone that thinks he is above the law.

Review of Sony PlayStation 4 Console Batman Arkham Knight Bundle Limited Edition

Clean the Streets of Gotham

By even the most modest estimations, there are thousands of different popular superheroes across a large variety of different mediums of storytelling. And in order for a superhero to stand out from such a crowd, he has to have a logo or a symbol that any fan will be able to immediately recognize. And as far as recognizable logos go, very few could rival the iconic symbol of Batman that, despite undergoing countless changes over the past 80 years, always relied on the foundation of a bat and a man in a cape. So it is more important than one might think that the Sony PlayStation 4 Console Batman Arkham Knight Bundle Limited Edition comes featuring a stylish gray background with a custom Batman faceplate on the upper half of the model. A DualShock 4 controller sporting a similar look is included in the package. On top of that, you're also getting a mono wireless headset and every standard part included with the regular PS4 console.

Naturally, you also receive a physical copy of Batman: Arkham Knight Limited Edition with PlayStation exclusive Scarecrow Nightmare missions: As Gotham City falls victim to Scarecrow's fear toxin, the player is going to have to tear through the city in the all-new Batmobile and face off against a towering vision of Scarecrow and his undead army. The aforementioned Batman skin and a new Batmobile are also part of the exclusive PS4 deal. And if for whatever reason, you don't feel like playing the Arkham Knight or any other video game, this console will allow you to stream, watch movies, and broadcast any sports event like any other regular PlayStation 4. So instead of wasting your time on some other boring hobby, grab a Sony PlayStation 4 Console Batman Arkham Knight Bundle Limited Edition and clean the streets of Gotham City from crime and corruption.

What Is a Limited Edition PS4?

Ever since the regular version of PlayStation 4 was released in the latter half of November 2013, this home video game console has instantly managed to become a commercial success that the competitors and even the previous (often successful as well) iterations of PlayStation couldn't possibly hope to rival. So, as it usually with video game consoles, it didn't take Sony a long time to come up with a variety of different limited edition versions of this game station. A limited edition PS4 is basically a regular version of PS4 that comes with some additional content, features a slightly or entirely different design of the console itself and the controller on top of that, and sometimes includes certain changes in terms of the capacity of the hard disk drive or the specifications of the hardware. The majority of these consoles are designed with a specific video game in mind so choosing the one that features your favorite franchise or comes bundled with a title that you were most looking forward to playing is often the simplest yet the most sensible decision.

What Features to Compare

Given that a limited edition PS4 is essentially a PlayStation 4 console with a few differences, sometimes it may feel like what you're getting is no different from a regular PS4. But just because the differences may often seem barely noticeable, that doesn't mean that they're insignificant or negligible.

The first thing you ought to look out for if you decide to purchase a special edition PS4 is the design of the console and the controller. The majority of limited edition consoles are often designed with a specific video game or franchise in mind, so that will be the first and most noticeable difference compared to a regular version of the console. If you're a fan of, say, Arkham Knight series or the story and the franchise of Gotham City's silent guardian and watchful protector, you should look for a console that sports a look reminiscent of that series.

The next aspects you should pay attention to are the hardware and specifications. Although the majority of limited edition PlayStation consoles generally tend to feature the same characteristics and come with the exact same hardware, there is a number of exceptions to this rule. Sometimes they will have a more spacious hard disk drive and other times they will come with a better central processing unit or an upgraded GPU. Certain examples will feature 4k resolution support and some may come with high-dynamic-range imaging.

The last part that you ought to consider when deciding on what type of limited edition console to buy would have to be the additional features and bonuses. Since this is a video game console and, unsurprisingly enough, the majority of limited edition versions of this console come centered around the idea of a certain video game or that game's entire franchise, the most common bonus you will be getting is a copy of that video game and different types of items and perks inside it. Some tend to provide an additional headset while others may offer a voucher for one year of PlayStation Plus or a second wireless controller.

Did you know?

  • The first Sony PlayStation home video game console was released over 23 years ago in 1994.
  • For fifteen years (since the start of this millennium till just a couple of years ago) you were actually unable to purchase a PlayStation in China "thanks" to the nationwide government ban.
  • In 2010, the U.S. AirForce engineers managed to build a supercomputer using nothing but 1760 linked PS3 consoles.
  • Ever since the release of PS4 in 2013, Sony has managed to sell over 70 million copies of this console worldwide. They also claim that more than 600 million PlayStation 4 games have been sold since then, both digitally and through retail.
  • PlayStation was the first home video game console ever to sell over 100 million copies. That number is higher than the one you would get after combining the sales of Xbox, GameCube, and Nintendo.

And the Award for the Most Ridiculously Overpriced PlayStation Goes to...

There have been a variety of different absurdly expensive limited edition consoles over the years and PlayStations are no exception to that rule. The most expensive PlayStation 4 was designed by Jumbo Electronics. The console was literally gold plated and encased in rose gold and the distributors were asking $13,600 for a single model. However, the most expensive Limited Edition PS ever sold is PlayStation 3 Supreme. The console came with a price tag of $323 000 (if you think you didn't read that right - you did, that is 323 thousand dollars). The special edition PS was encased in a 22-karat exterior. The system featured over 1600 grams of gold wrapped around the exterior and 58 half-karat diamonds used as decoration.

The Rarest PlayStation Console of All Time

Rare comic books, merchandise, different kinds of video games related memorabilia and even digital items that do not physically exist in what we refer to as the real world - geeks, fans, and enthusiasts all over the world love collecting all of these items. So, it should come as no surprise, that consoles, and specifically the PlayStation ones, are no exception to that rule. When Sony decided to commemorate the apparent commercial success of the original PlayStation console and it reaching 10,000,000 copies sold, the company released an incredibly rare and limited back model of the gaming system. Of course, as you probably know, these days black consoles wouldn't be able to surprise anyone, but back then they were by no means an ordinary item. The company manufactured only 100 of these consoles per country so, as you would imagine, getting one over millions of gamers would often present quite a challenge, to say the least. However, Sony decided not to stop there and also created one golden PS One console. Yes, that's one, as in a single copy. Nobody knows where this golden console is now. But there's a good chance that whoever is the owner of this device doesn't quite realize how exclusive and rare his item is.

FAQ:

Q: I don't own a regular PlayStation 4. Should I get a limited edition one?
A: If you do not already own a standard version of this console, then you should definitely consider getting a limited edition one. If you're a fan of Battlefield, you should look for a Battlefield 4 Premium Edition PS4. If you like Metal Gear Solid and Solid Snake is one of your favorite characters of all time, PS4 Metal Gear Edition is the one that should satisfy your gaming needs. Finally, if you grew up playing the second iteration of Diablo, then you should definitely consider investing in a Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition PS4.

Q: If I do already own a standard PS4, should I purchase a limited edition version of the console?
A: If you're an avid fan of some sort of franchise or a game and you would absolutely love to have your console or your controller feature a design reminiscent of your favorite character or a franchise, then investing in a limited edition version of the PlayStation 4 is by no means a bad idea. However, if you do not particularly care about the visual aspect of your console, all you will be getting from that deal is a physical copy of the game and some in-game content, which isn't necessarily the worst possible transaction, but it would make more sense to just purchase a game separately and save a few hundred bucks.

Q: How do I unlock the additional in-game content that comes with the package?
A: Naturally, it depends on the game itself since every title's interface is designed in a different way with a particular stylistic approach and unique ideas about where to place all of the settings and options. However, the majority of the games will have an "Additional Content" entry (or something with a similar name) somewhere in the main menu that you will easily be able to access. After that, you'll just have to follow the instructions that generally tend to be fairly self-explanatory. But if you do manage to run into some kind of an obstacle trying to access the additional content, you can always contact PlayStation's support center.

Q: Is the additional content exclusive to the limited edition console?
A: Again, it all depends on the video game and the kind of deal the developers have been able to strike with the distributors of the console. Some limited edition PS4 consoles will be able to offer you the kind of exclusive content that you simply won't be able to find anywhere else and the only way of getting them would be to acquire the special edition model. However, some of them come with the kind of benefits that you will be able to purchase on your own outside of this deal. If the rarity of the in-game items is the deciding factor for you, you should pay attention to the description since most of them will have all of the necessary information down there.
