PROS

The combination of boar hair and synthetics gives the brush more strength and durability to stay just as stiff after the hundredth use. These bristles offer good friction, while the large, solid brush head is excellent for removing debris and toughening your skin into elephant hide.

CONS

The handle gets slippery when wet.

OUR VERDICT

Swissco 46058 Deluxe is one of the best bath brushes around. You'll be hard-pressed to find a more effective, practical, and durable option. Though this is not the stiffest brush on the market today, it comes pretty darn close. Plus, it doesn't hurt that it looks nice too.

Swissco 46058

A Brush that Means Business

Though advertised as a deluxe model, Swissco 46058 means business. If you want a brush to gently caress your skin, you might want to look elsewhere. Though this is not the stiffest brush on the market today, it comes pretty darn close. It will be an equally good fit for customers looking for a proper exfoliating tool and those who need a proper brush for showering after toiling in the fields or pumping iron for hours on end.

The best part here is the bristles. Most of these brushes use boar hair, which isn't necessarily a bad choice. The problem is, boar hair becomes soft sooner rather than later. Here, we have a combination of boar hair and synthetics. It gives the brush more strength and durability to stay just as stiff after the hundredth use. These plastic/boar hair bristles offer good friction, while the large, solid brush head is excellent for removing debris and toughening your skin into elephant hide.

The only thing we have somewhat of a problem with is the handle. Not its composition, mind you, since the smooth plastic it is made of is a much better alternative to wood in a bathroom environment. But more so the fact that it is a little thin and gets real slippery when wet.

Having said that, Swissco 46058 Deluxe is still one of the best bath brushes around. You'll be hard-pressed to find a more effective, practical, and durable option. Plus, it doesn't hurt that it looks nice too.

Bath Blossom Bamboo Body Brush for Back Scrubber

Two Brushes in One

The people behind this Bath Blossom Bamboo Body Brush say that having this tool is like having two brushes in one. And, honestly, it is hardly a stretch. On one side of the brush head, you have really stiff bristles, perfect for exfoliating, cleansing, and removing dead skin in the shower. Using this side, you'll be able to improve blood circulation and that, in turn, will help you with cellulite problems, promoting skin health and a nice glow.

Although the bristles start to fall out with time, so we can't necessarily call this shower body brush the most durable and long-lasting product, it's not like the opposite is the case either. Made of the finest natural bamboo material, this model is hygienic and sturdy enough for everyday use. It is easy to maintain and it doesn't develop mildew.

Now, on the other side of the brush head, you'll find these nice little wooden massage tips. As you can imagine, these tips will help with reducing muscle tension, relieving stress, improving soft tissue recovery, skin tone, and overall flexibility. Plus, these massage tips have a rounded shape and are positioned at different angles, so they're able to better contour your body and cover a surprisingly large area at a time.

Again, Bath Blossom Bamboo Body Brush gives you two great bath brushes in a single tool. With this product, you'll be able to stay nice and clean but also massage practically every part of your body and enjoy all sorts of health benefits.

VIVE Shower Brush

Brush Those Rough Patches Off

Using VIVE Shower Brush, you'll be able to recreate that spa experience in the comforts of your own home. One side of this brush features the stiffest boar bristles, just what the doctor ordered for exfoliating the skin as well as smoothing practically any rough skin patch. These boar bristles are also excellent for cleaning those areas that are hard to reach with just body wash, scrub, or anything in-between.

The other side of the brush head gives you soft plastic (nylon) bristles. These bristles are nothing short of ideal for delicate, sensitive skin. Using this side, you can gently cleanse, soften, and smoothen your skin.

The handle is just as impressive as the brush head. Its lotus wood composition is one thing but it wouldn't be that good of a fit for bathrooms without a nice layer of clear waterproof coating. A seemingly small thing but it does make the brush resistant to mold and mildew. It also makes the model more durable, so it will hardly split or crack.

Finally, the whole thing is also really long. Adding up to 17.25 inches with a long extended handle, the brush allows you to reach any part of your body, from back to feet. It does make the product relatively heavy but nothing too much to complain about.

What else is there to say? Effective, convenient, easy on the pocketbook, and versatile, this model from VIVE is up there with the best bath brushes on the market right now.

PRETTY SEE TE141

Simple, Effortless, Effective

PRETTY SEE TE141 is a classic bath brush for a classic (in this case, synonymous with effective) shower experience. Incorporating a lanyard design with a nice little cord loop, you can always hang it to dry, making storage and maintenance simple and effortless.

Just as nice is the non-slip wrapping with a hemp rope on the end of the handle. Needless to say, this hemp rope makes sure the brush won't slip from your hands no matter how wet it is. With a better grip, it is easier to access and clean those hard-to-reach areas like the middle of your back or your feet.

The brush head, for the most part, does not disappoint. Well, it is relatively small, so the massage area is somewhat limited. But, with its integrated design, the head will never fall off. Though the bristles are advertised as medium-stiff, we would still recommend soaking them in warm water for a couple of minutes before use. Otherwise, you might find them less flexible and a lot more tough than soft for your taste.

Other than that, there's not much to it. Just like any other decent bath brush, it will help you with acne on your back, itchy skin, and ingrown nails. You can use it to boost circulation and improve overall skin health. It isn't necessarily as versatile as the previous couple of entries on this list but the model rivals and probably beats them when it comes to overall practicality and utility.

Minalo Best Bath Dry Body Brush

Affordable All-Rounder

At first, it may seem like this brush from Minalo doesn't bring anything particularly new or interesting to the table. Sure, the price alone isn't that bad of a reason to give it a good ol' whirl but is there anything to it other than that? Well, as it so happens, there is, you just have to look a little closer at the smaller details.

One of those details is the finest grade polished wood. With its elastic, undeformable, and humidity-resistant properties, the brush is durable and practical, a real pleasure to deal with. A nice little hemp rope and a curved handle give you that non-slip performance so necessary in the shower. You throw the rope onto your wrist and, of course, you can use it to dry the bristles.

The only area where this brush actually disappoints is external longevity. More specifically, the aforementioned polished wood. Even more specifically, the way it grows dark after some time, losing its otherwise attractive appearance.

Apart from that, this is as good of a bath brush as the rest of them. You can use it as a back scrubber or cellulite massager. It is great for exfoliating, removing dead skin, and improving overall skin quality.

The bristles are stiffer in the middle and softer on the edges of the brush head. This kind of treatment allows you to control the massage and brushing intensity. Add to it the relatively long 16-inch handle and you have yourself a great all-around product that comes at an affordable price.

What Is a Bath Brush?

People are starting to figure out just how bad loofah actually is for you. Like, really bad. But you need an alternative, right? Proper hygiene just isn't that accessible without a proper tool. Well, as far as we're concerned, the right bath brush is as good of an alternative as any of them.

There are numerous benefits to body brushing. It can help you by increasing blood circulation and eliminating toxins. With it, you'll be able to shed dead skin and get that smooth, bright, glowing skin going. It can help with ingrown hairs and lymphatic drainage. From eliminating clog pores to distributing fat deposits more evenly, the number of things a simple brush can help you with is surprisingly staggering.

So, what constitutes that ever so elusive right bath brush? Not much, really. At the end of the day, it is mostly up to your needs and preferences. Keep the length in mind and make sure the bristles are neither too soft nor too stiff and you should be able to figure out the right brush for you.

Now, to further improve the shower experience, we would recommend our reviews of shower heads and shower filters.
