Office Oriented

The Brother MFC-J995DW is another decent all-arounder that brings quite a lot of officeworthy features to the table. It deftly combines convenience, efficiency, and productivity - the things that most small offices will definitely like.

With the modern tendency to cut down ink costs, Brother has done its best to create high-capacity liquid-filled cartridges that would last from one to two years. And what we get now is the MFC-J995DW supplied with INKvestment Tank Ink System - one of the greatest advantages of this printer. According to Brother, you will go for a year at least without a need to replace the inks. The supplied cartridges are now larger and more efficient.

Besides that, this all-arounder offers a number of other innovations that are focused on simplifying printing tasks. For example, the small display shows you how much ink is remained as well as how many pages you'll be able to print before a refill, which is a rare feature found in other models at this price point.

Other tweaks include Wi-Fi compatibility letting you print from your mobile devices and duplex printing allowing for minimum supervision. Overall, the printer can handle up to 5000 pages per month, albeit the manufacturer doesn't recommend going over 1500 pages.

Take note that this printer isn't very fast - it can churn out 12 ppm in black and 10 ppm in color. Regardless, it's still a respectable speed for any inkjet printer and any small office duty.

Easy Operation

Space economy sometimes becomes a dealbreaker when it comes to busy office environments. With that in mind, the folks at Brother has made this MFP quite small yet efficient. At just 17.1” x 13.4” x 7.7”, it does it all - print, scan, copy and fax. And all these functions work perfectly.

To make the navigation easier, the unit is fitted with a 2.7" color touch screen that works well for all menu selections. Yet, the screen seems a little too small for some users.

On the left of the control panel, there is an SD card slot and a USB port for printing/scanning directly from memory card or USB drive. Wireless printing is also available. Moreover, thanks to the built-in NFC module, this all-rounder can print from your mobile devices if you just place them near the device.

Despite having the small size, the printer can hold up to 150 sheets in its main paper tray and an additional sheet in the specialty media tray on the back. The latter can hold only one sheet for printing photos on photo paper. The images get accurate, well-saturated with colors and are full of fine details.

All in all, this is a solid printer for homes and small offices. It offers plenty of productivity and connectivity options for all-around multifunction needs. And it saves some money on ink as well.

Large Page Yield and Low-Cost Printing

The Brother MFC-J805DW is an odd fellow, even though coming from the same company. While its peers within the same price bracket are usually coming with touchscreen displays nowadays, this one features more buttons than we can count (well, almost that many). Apart from this little mishap, the unit also comes without an Ethernet port, meaning wave bye-bye to direct Internet connection. These downsides are not negligent, nevertheless, this is still one solid printer.

First, we have the INKvestment Tank Ink system, holding more ink than most cartridges and, featuring an internal ink storage tank, delivering more pages, all while ensuring convenient uninterrupted printing that's not compromising the company printers' signature desktop size.

Besides large page yield and low-cost printing, what defines this product first and foremost is the Page Gauge feature telling you how much ink you have used and how much is left with flawless precision. That said, the 20-sheet ADF is an attractive quality too, streamlining medium-volume printing.

The last part is what this model's all about - providing small businesses with an affordable and efficient printing, copying, scanning, and faxing unit, including the cartridge package that will last you ~2 years.

Professional-Looking Documents

Unlike its contemporaries on this list, the Brother HL-L3270CDW can only print. Scanning, copying, and faxing is something that does not interest this device. Because the model can only print, its printing speed easily exceeds AIO models within this price range, churning out black 25 pages per minute, an impressive feat, but even more impressive is that the unit churns out as many color pages per minute.

That being said, you can argue that matching quantity with quality is the more impressive feat here. To be more precise, these pages will also be coming out looking clean, without misshaped characters without odd spacing, and making even the smallest fonts visible without requiring magnification. The graphs and charts will look great too, with solid fills and without noticeable banding and streaking.

We will not be covering the 2.7-inch touchscreen display and its automatic two-sided printing since printers around this price always bring those. What they do not always bring is the model's 250-sheet tray that accepts most paper types (and sizes), including envelopes, card stocks, and more.

Bottom line, even though this device cannot do anything but print, its fast printing and professional-looking documents make this printer an awesome option for small offices and home use.

Modern Office's Assistant

Every modern office has certain requirements that any device, machine, or appliance has to fulfill in order to be considered a useful addition to the list of office equipment. And even though Brother Industry manufacturers plenty of those, it is the Brother MFC-L2710DW that stands head and shoulders above the rest of them when it comes to office applications.

You put this device in an office and it goes without saying that you won't be the only one using it throughout the day. Fortunately enough, this piece of office equipment has been designed with these kinds of circumstances in mind. A 250-sheet tray that comes with the majority of high-end Brother printers will shorten the fill-up time. On that note, the particular model's 50-sheet automatic document feeder will save both time and some money in the process. And, of course, there's also the manual feed slot that provides flexible paper-handling for different sizes and materials, allowing you to print things like card stocks or envelopes. But, most importantly, it is the printer's exceptional printing speed of 32 pages per minute that makes it a must-have for any busy office that deals with a lot of paperwork.

Now, we have already mentioned that this is an all-in-one printer, meaning that it can also scan and fax documents. Unfortunately, it is also a black and white printer, so you won't be able to print or scan in color, though it's not like most offices use that option anyway.

Other than all of that, not dissimilar to other printers from the company, the model in question will allow you to send prints wirelessly via a PC or a smartphone. The printer is also fairly easy to operate, though some customers say that the buttons are placed in a somewhat inconvenient matter.

At the end of a day, this is not a difficult choice. If you work in a busy office that deals with a lot of paperwork and you need an all-in-one MFP that will allow you to save as much time as possible printing, scanning, and sending documents, there is really no reason not to go with the Brother MFC-L2710DW.

What customers say about this product

Key Specs(4.8)

I can connect the laptops and cellphone, print speed is fast.

Printing / Scanning(4.7)

The quality is perfect. The print is nice, no streaking.

Cartridges(4.7)

I like this printer. If you don't need color this printer is for you!

Features(4.7)

Easy to setup for WiFi printing. LCD display is responsive and easy to use.

Dependable Workhorse

The Brother MFC-J6930DW is not boasting the most space-saving design, this much is certain. Then again, considering its specs, output, and price, the size is understandable. Plus, good luck fitting two 250-sheet paper trays and a 50-sheet ADF into something more compact. No, this is one sturdy workhorse and, even though the size might convince you otherwise, this is not the turtle winning the race case, not one bit.

Printing 22 black pages per minute and 20 color pages per minute, this AIO unit is blazing-fast. Generally speaking, such printing speeds would entail quality sacrifices but, again, not necessarily the case here. Quite the opposite, the pages always come out looking pristine, with well-shaped characters legible even when you choose the smallest font size. What's interesting is that the device also prints terrific-looking photographs, well-detailed and vibrant. What's also interesting except, this time, in an opposite way, is that the graphs look middling, nothing terrible but you'll have thin yet noticeable lines running across them from time to time.

Without going into minute details and outlining the features and components that come without saying when talking about mid-range Brother AIO models, what we have here is one impressive machine, with its increased size being the only real drawback.

What Is a Brother Printer?

There's a good chance you already have a pretty good idea of what a printer is. So, what makes Brother printers different from the rest of them? Well, the company is one of the biggest producers and manufacturers of office equipment, so there's a certain level of quality that you can expect out of their products. Even some of their more affordable printers offer fairly impressive printing speed, the tray capacity is usually capable of holding up to 250 sheets of paper, and the printing resolution is always superb. Other than that, just like the rest of printers, they fall under the laser and inkjet categories, so you will be dealing with all of the advantages and disadvantages of these types of printers. The majority of company's printers also support wireless printing, so you will be able to send prints wirelessly via your smartphone, tablet, or a laptop. Finally, a lot of their models include quite a few cost-saving solutions such an automatic two-sided printing and high-yield replacement toners.

Since all of the models present in this review support wireless printing, you may want to look for a new tablet or update your smartphone in order to optimize your productivity with this peripheral.
