Change the way you protect your trailer investment with the Engager break-away system! Push button battery tester lets you know your break away system is ready to go. Built-in battery charger charges battery while connected with the tow vehicle. Kit includes a break-away switch and cable and three mounting bolts.

The Engager Breakaway System features a clamshell-style battery box with built-in battery meter to verify battery charge. For use on 1 or 2 axle trailers. Includes side-mount battery box, 5-amp battery, charger, breakaway switch with 7" leads and hardware.

This battery includes a battery charge indicator and will charge if attached to a 12V source (such as during transport for example). I would buy this again and I did purchase two of them, one for each trailer.
The unit is really nothing more than a battery that engages the trailer brakes should the trailer become disconnected from your truck, but it's well made and easy to install.
Works great and got my trailer to pass inspection. Absolutely no complaints after a hundred miles or so.
No problems with this product. It seems to be well made and durable, was easy to install and looks like it will hold up for a long while. Kit included everything needed.
This was easy to install on my trailer, a flatbed with dual axles (note that wiring/electronics is something that I do frequently). The instructions were clear.

I got this for my new trailer, to replace the cheapo the factory put in. Box is compact for the battery only, and the tester lets me check power before I get on the road.

This model has wiring pigtails that were long enough to reach my trailer wiring harness junction box which eliminated a splice for these wires.
The unit is used on a trailer and is holding up well. I bought a carabiner to make it easier to hook the safety cable to my truck.
The wiring directions are clear and helpful and it can be installed in a matter of minutes. I used one of the seven way junction boxes and was able to tie all the wires directly into that without any ugly splices.
Great product. I replaced my old break away controller with this Hopkins and installation was smooth with easy to follow instructions. The LED lights are great, now I can tell if the my controller battery is good and when it's charging.
Easy to setup, good instructions. The lights help you see what is going on (battery status, charging...) and diagnosing wiring issues is easy.
The plastic film that covers the test button and the indicator-lights cracks and breaks which in turn lets the water into the unit.
Within a week the box was cracked, now the solder points have come apart. I am NOT a fan. If I had to guess without looking its MADE IN CHINA!

I wanted a means to apply my trailer brakes without having to wire in the trailer's 12 volt battery. This kit works great while testing the output voltage when pulling the pin.
I like the charge indicator that old battery never had. Item get 5 stars.
Hook up was easy and I really like the display that provides battery status that confirms charging and overall battery condition. With this display you can actually tell if the unit is in working condition!
This has a battery in it. If your trailer has electric brakes, this sturdy unit is a top shelf choice for your safety and those around you.
Easy to use. Has a light that makes it easy to tell if it is chartered or not. The wiring was easy. The instructions are basic. I recommend this to anyone with electric brakes.
I ordered two of these, both cases were cracked, one had the breakaway switch and one didn't. Not very impressed.
Installed and test button doesn’t work. Not impressed.
In the photo it shows the break away switch. When it showed up no switch!
