What customers say about "Key Specs"
Pioneer SX-N30 Elite Network Stereo Receiver with Built-in Bluetooth
  • I wanted to stick with the 2-channel format and had my eyes on a Yamaha but this Pioneer is as good plus it's more technically up to date and a good price.
  • I like the sound most when using "direct" mode. I would not mess with the tone control since it makes the music sound unnatural, and this unit is no exception
  • On the bright side, the Pioneer SX-N30 sound more balance and work better for many different speakers. While the receiver is rated at 80 watts per channel, never have I felt that the unit is not bringing enough power to the table
  • I like the fact that this is a true 80 watts per Channel receiver. The am and FM reception is great, getting all my favorite channels and then some.
  • Not high end. Power not as advertised. Difficult remote (no backlight ???),. easily overheats.
Yamaha R-N602 AV Receiver (Black)
  • No comments on the sound since the speakers are new, and need break in time, but it's exactly what you can expect from a Yamaha receiver.
  • Excellent net receiver with lots of power to drive my 4 ohm ELAC Uni F5 speakers.
  • I really like the "natural sound" that Yamaha tries to adhere to. The sound is more open and detailed to my ear than other receivers
  • The sound is warm and detailed with good bass, it is easy to use straight out of the box and and has all the inputs I need including for a record player.
  • I use this amp in a large space so the output can reach high volumes. The amp cannot handle the load and shuts off.

What customers say about "Features"
Pioneer SX-N30 Elite Network Stereo Receiver with Built-in Bluetooth
  • I still like the remote control phone app, it is one of the better ones I’ve used.
  • The tuner section was a surprise, it pulls in clearly stations that the Y****a couldn't hold without breaking up constantly.
  • The Net and Bluetooth features are great since I listen to a lot of Jazz on Pandora. The remote app works great as well
  • I enjoy the iPhone App to control the Stereo from anywhere in the house changing inputs, volume and powering off.
  • Lacking only one feature – switching between the speakers A, B or A&B. Otherwise there wouldn’t be any need to touch the receiver at all.
  • Mostly satisfied. However, it was advertised to work with the Pioneer Android control app (ControlApp Ready (iOS/AndroidTM)4). Unless I am mistaken, it does not do this. The app could not find a compatible device on my network
Yamaha R-N602 AV Receiver (Black)
  • Musiccast App for android and iPhone works to control the system but is a bit cumbersome and not intuitive.
  • Very easy to set up and control with free Yamaha Musiccast app from Android Playstore.
  • Very pleased with my purchase, simple to setup and the app on Phone / Tablet is simple to use.
  • Net radio doesn't remember what station you were playing, and so each time you turn on device, you'll have to re-select it.
  • The smartphone app does not let you rename inputs or customize them to de-clutter the input view, so for example I have "Line 2" as my CD player, but I can't rename it as such.
  • The iOS app in general is not well designed, it has very basic functionality, it's slow in some cases (scrolling through net radios is slower than using the unit's physical buttons).

What customers say about "Connectivity"
Pioneer SX-N30 Elite Network Stereo Receiver with Built-in Bluetooth
  • In addition, the tech updates provide the versatility for TV, Airplay, Wifi, iPhone, MacBook & Bluetooth.
  • Connections - this receiver has all the connections you'll ever need in a music receiver. RCA, coaxial digital, and optical digital inputs are all provided.
  • Wifi works great and never dropped signal. I am currently running an ethernet cable directly to it, but I would not hesitate to use the Wifi if cable is not available.
  • Bluetooth - this feature works correctly and never dropped a connection either. The sound quality of bluetooth might not be as good as through Apple Airplay, but it works regardless.
  • You can play iTunes directly via the Airplay feature from my Mac Mini. Play any Bluetooth device in the local area too. The USB allowed me to play audio MP3s that I put on a zip drive and the sound is just great.
Yamaha R-N602 AV Receiver (Black)
  • I was looking for an amp that met my requirements in sound quality and also that was up to date with today’s technology including Bluetooth as I own Bluetooth headphones
  • Sound is outstanding, Easy to link to wifi, airplay and bluetooth. Internet radio is limitless.
  • Easy to link to wifi, airplay and bluetooth. Internet radio is limitless. I use it to drive two sets of wired speakers (one with subwoofer), plus a wireless music cast speaker.
  • I use it to drive two sets of wired speakers (one with subwoofer), plus a wireless music cast speaker. Haven't been able to get it to simultaneously drive wired and wireless, but probably just haven't found the right setting.
