Product Comparison: Sony WI-C300 vs Skullcandy Ink'd (SCS2IKW-J509)

General Specifications
About the Product
The Sony WI-C300 are average wireless in-ears for most use cases. They have a simple and easy-to-use design, although their control scheme doesn't have the best feedback. They're compact enough to fit in your pockets and sufficiently stable for running, which makes them a good option for sports. They also sound moderately well-balanced, although they won't be ideal for more critical listeners.
The low-profile and feather light design of Ink'd Wireless won't cramp your style and are comfortable enough to wear all day. Supreme Sound and a noise-isolating fit deliver rich, clear audio for any type of music. The flexible collar packs up to ⅓ its original size for easy storage in a pocket or bag.

What customers say about "Key Specs"
Sony WI-C300 Wireless In-Ear Headphones, Black
  • Bluetooth connection is stable and the only issues I had were related to my phone and not the headset.
  • Bluetooth connection works if the phone and earbuds are on one side of your body with direct line of sight to your router otherwise it'll cut out very often.
  • Sound quality is good. Pretty much on par with Sony's standard wired headphones with the rubber ear inserts.
  • I don't like the cord material. It feels cheap and plasticky. It also gives too much "noise" when it rubs against my shirt or jacket.
  • After around two months of use it loses connection constantly and lasts around two hours before needing to be charged.
Skullcandy Ink'd (SCS2IKW-J509) Bluetooth Wireless Earbuds with Microphone
  • The little cables seem to be about the perfect length. They don't get caught in things but they don't limit your head movement either.
  • The sound is really quite good, and I have no complaints (so far) about the battery life.
  • The range is good. I can forget my phone on the table and go get a glass of water in the next room and they still work!
  • Works a good distance from your device and has a great battery life. Nice sound quality & plenty long enough. Mic works well for phone use.
  • Bluetooth connectivity on it is horrible. If you put your phone in your pants pocket the headset disconnects completely.

What customers say about "Features"
Sony WI-C300 Wireless In-Ear Headphones, Black
  • Call quality is ok, people I talked with could hear me fine. And did not hear any surrounding interference.
  • The control functions are responsive and easy to use, which is not always the case with some of my others one of which requires relentless pressure on tiny buttons to operate.
  • The microphone works and does a decent job picking up sound. This is important as I often receive phone calls or use the voice to text feature on my phone to reply to text messages.
  • The only downside in the skip and replay controls. You have to hold the + or - button that is used for volume for 2 seconds to skip the track. This is a pain if you want to skip a lot of tracks.
  • Had good wireless headphones with track control from sony which they discontinued it and came up with this useless design.
Skullcandy Ink'd (SCS2IKW-J509) Bluetooth Wireless Earbuds with Microphone
  • The earplugs are lightweight and have no tendency of falling out of your ears.
  • Device stays in your neck throughout the day without being bulky.
  • Great sound quality and noise cancelling buds! I wear these while mowing the lawn, and can't even tell if the lawn mower is running!
  • Buttons can be a little unresponsive, but I'm unsure if it's actually the buttons to blame, or just my crap bluetooth connection with these.
  • Phone call sound is so quiet. But, when I play my music after a call, my eardrums basically get blown out of my head.
