What customers say about "Key Specs"
Sennheiser HD 650 Open Back Professional Headphone
  • Smooth, soothing sound quality while still retaining great amount of detail. These headphones will melt your stress away.
  • Fantastic sound, albeit a bit on the darker side. Amazingly natural mids, and poignant lows with controlled highs.
  • They sound good with pretty much every genre, which makes this a very unique headphone.
  • This headphone is what is referred to as "colored" and not truly neutral. There is a mid bass hump and the treble is slightly rolled off.
  • Bass response lacks definition as you would get from some planar magnetic headphones.
beyerdynamic DT 880 Premium Edition 250 Ohm Over-Ear-Stereo Headphones
  • This is serious stuff. Tonal purity and imaging are amazing. Yet, you need some power to drive the transducers, though not that much.
  • They are incredibly detailed but with a rich and textured tonal balance. Overall feel of sound pressure is not very forward with a perfectly flat frequency response.
  • Flat frequency response means that there is no fake bass kick in the lower mids or the lower lows. You only hear bass when it is present in the music and I loved it.
  • They have the best frequency range and clarity of any speaker that I have ever worn on my head. Just do it!
  • I decided on the 250-ohm impedance version because there is an audible hiss in my AKG k553s that I believe comes from its 32 ohm impedance; this turned out to be a good choice.

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Sennheiser HD 650 Open Back Professional Headphone
  • Great design, lightweight, super comfortable and relatively easy to drive.
  • They're very comfortable and, more importantly, weight less than 300 grams.
  • Beautiful, lightweight and sound-sealed better than any headphone in it's weight-class, the cable is very long.
  • Weight is perfect, clamping force is perfect, feel is perfect. I hold them up with one finger and am pleased with the weight.
  • I would not recommend them for portable solution, their huge size, along with the open aire design would make them impractical on the go, for outdoors and public places.
beyerdynamic DT 880 Premium Edition 250 Ohm Over-Ear-Stereo Headphones
  • These headphones aren't that heavy. The fabric padding is soft and comfy, and the fit is perfect.
  • My head size is a medium hat and on the smallest setting they fit perfect and completely cover the ear. The weight is not noticeable.
  • The weight of the headphones itself is very light and light when it is in the bag.
  • Though not the lightest high-performance headphones on the market, the weight is well-balanced and the clamping force over one's ears is not too heavy.
  • Neither would I use these on an airplane since the carry case is about the size of small backpack with thick foam protection inside.

What customers say about "Features"
Sennheiser HD 650 Open Back Professional Headphone
  • The internal ear cups are silk lined, well padded, and provide a very adequate cushion to the ears. The ear cups are very adequate size and provide a very good listening experience.
  • The Sennheiser HD 650 headphones are open dynamic, well designed, well made with high quality materials and comfortable to wear.
  • The beauty, clarity of the music, the detail and nuances are outstanding. You will hear a level of musical sound that you may not have heard before with lesser quality headphones.
  • Replacement cables are either very mediocre, super expensive, or take eternity to get. The OG cable isn't bad, but it's 10 feet long. Half that would've been fine.
  • Design is functional (and comfortable) but not stylish; they don't fold, not even a little.
beyerdynamic DT 880 Premium Edition 250 Ohm Over-Ear-Stereo Headphones
  • The earpads are soft, but because of the size of the opening they are mostly comfortable although I wouldn't consider them to be a set of headphones that disappear on your head.
  • The build quality is superb. The cable feels thick and durable and the gold plated connector looks great.
  • They are made of very high quality materials and feel very hefty, despite their light weight.
  • The cable is nice and thick and is well connected to the headphone and jack itself.
  • I also don't like that the cable is not removable and the part where it goes inside the cup is thicker/big.
