What customers say about "Key Specs"
Antennas Direct DB8-E 8-Element Bowtie TV Antenna
  • This is a great product, and lives up to its rating of having a 60-70 mile range when mounted outside with no obstructions.
  • The signal strength meter ranges around 60-85% and the quality is 100% across the board.
  • The range is 80+ miles, and the reception is very clear. I live in a small rural city, and with this pick up the 35+ stations from the larger city 80 miles away without any issues.
  • It is very sensitive, and well made. Please realize that it is UHF only and is only designed to receive real channels 14-51.
  • Good antenna. Clear assembly directions and excellent signal boost. Mounted in attic.
Channel Master CM-4228HD High VHF, UHF and HDTV Antenna
  • Excellent. I cannot comment on the range, listed as '80 miles' because I am only 30 miles away from the nearest television antenna transmission cluster. But it's work amazing.
  • Great antenna! Pulls in UHF as well as Hi-VHF frequencies which was perfect for my location.
  • The 80 mile range is a joke. I am less than 35 miles from most of the main towers. Overall signal dropped 25% instead of improving.
  • Despite the claim of 80 mile range I was only able to get stations 50 miles out and could not get a VHF station that was 25 miles out.
  • This Channel Master CM4228HD failed to perform as well as the smaller and cheaper Mediasonic. I expected an antenna with 75 mile range, to perform as well or better.

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Antennas Direct DB8-E 8-Element Bowtie TV Antenna
  • It is very light weight but even still when you are holding it trying to find that perfect location it does get a little heavy on your hands.
  • The elements are light weight, easy to construct and hopefully durable. I attached the antenna on a 12' mast on my roof.
  • It is light weight, well built and easy to assemble. My only concern is our CT winters.
  • It's large size works against it to make 'tuning' extremely difficult in such signal challenged areas.
  • As someone who remembers what antennas were like before cable, I am very impressed. It is, however, very large.
Channel Master CM-4228HD High VHF, UHF and HDTV Antenna
  • Small size and light weight. Live 80 miles from nearest station outperforms channel master ultra high digital cross fire.
  • Weight, size, assembly all great for handyman. Installed unit in our attic. Allowed us to cut the cable. Very pleased.
  • Compact size makes it a perfect fit for the attic. Matched it with Channel Master's DVR+.
  • It is light weight. It was easy to assemble. I mounted it to a 6 foot high pole in the ground.
  • Very light weight and flimsy, but actually well made. Works great with a channel master rotater and a Winegard pre-amp.

What customers say about "Features"
Antennas Direct DB8-E 8-Element Bowtie TV Antenna
  • I'm getting 90-100% strength on all of them without amplification, mounting the antenna in the attic of my two story house.
  • This antenna works great. I installed it in my attic and have it split off to 4 TVs. It is picking up 64 channels with no amplification.
  • All received signals are excellent – no pixilation, ghosting, fading, etc.
  • All of the stations come in very clear. Since it's protected from the elements inside our attic, this antenna should easily last without the need for the lifetime parts guarantee.
  • It is impossible to install in the room because it is very large and will take up a lot of space.
Channel Master CM-4228HD High VHF, UHF and HDTV Antenna
  • The antenna pulls in more stations than the previous 2 without any signal amplification. Does a great job.
  • I get 39 channels and am running it to 3 different TV's with NO amplification needed. Great antenna for my area.
  • I picked this up because it reception up to 80 miles and I needed a more wind resistant antenna than the Winegard HD7698P I had since I live in a hurricane prone area.
  • The Channel Master appears to be a very good weather resistant antenna.
  • Their amplification circuit is questionable at best, and their mast rotation function is not indexed, so you have to guess where it is pointing.
