  • For the first three days the speakers were perfect. Quiet when idle and great tones when active.
  • These speakers are OK when listening at very low volume, however when listening at mid to high volume or when listening to deep/sub base they fail completely.

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Alesis Elevate 5 MKII Powered Desktop Studio Speakers for Home Studios
  • If you are looking for some great audio monitors without huge sizes for your home studio, I definitely suggest these.
  • These speakers are neither large nor small. Something like a perfect middle ground.
  • Medium sized was all I needed for my room and these speakers punch out a lot of volume.
  • They are not massive. Its easy to carry them out in and all around.
  • Simple lightweight and powerful. A good monitor. Highly recommend to amateurs and professionals.

  • Robust power for the size and adaptable to different applications. I already love Alesis products anyway so this just added to the love:)
  • The separation is great and the bass is booming relative to their size. Music sounds so much better.

Alesis M1 Active 520USB Nearfield Studio Monitors with USB Audio Interface
  • They still sound great and look great, and have worked flawlessly through upgrades from OS X, Windows 7,8, and now Windows 10.
  • They are what they are, and that's smooth and relatively clean, uncolored and honest sounding, with clear highs, rich mids, appreciable lows.
  • These speakers cut down the desk clutter, and sound really great for the price. I can't recommend these guys enough, I love them.
  • They sound good and help me mix my projects quickly by letting my ears hear what they are supposed to.
  • The sound is very neutral which is what is expected of studio monitors. The bass boost feature just muddies the sound so I keep it off.

What customers say about "Features"
Alesis Elevate 5 MKII Powered Desktop Studio Speakers for Home Studios
  • Exceeded my expectations with wood design and ported cabinet.
  • The build quality is top notch. The best part is the bass, which is really nice with an adjustable bass boost switch in the back.
  • It would seem that the standard volume switch on the front panel, but some of my speakers did not have it, so it was considered a convenient advantage.
  • The base capabilities are massive, I have to turn the base down (and not use the boost switch) because my wife said the walls were vibrating.
  • Bass boost isn't great and the headphone jack is very quiet and on max volume produces a very distoted sound.
Alesis M1 Active 520USB Nearfield Studio Monitors with USB Audio Interface
  • You have a bass boost button for more and you really feel the difference. Buy it if you're really into electronic music.
  • The "Power/Clip" LED failed within a couple days. Not worth shipping it back just for that.
  • I don't use the Bass Boost feature - sounds muddy to me.
  • The XLR cable was too short for me, I replaced it with a longer one.
  • The bass boost feature just muddies the sound so I keep it off. Volume control knob and headphone jack are very useful.
