Product Comparison: Kenda Nevegal vs Maxxis Ardent (TB72555000)

General Specifications
About the Product
When you find yourself sitting trailside, and ground conditions are those that retain tread marks, you're bound to spot a Nevegal that left its signature. That popularity is because Kenda's Nevegal, like this lightweight 26in DTC model, are favored for its acute balance of traction and speed.
An aggressive tread in high-volume casings distinguishes the newest addition to Maxxis' downhill and mountain disciplines. Designed with great traction in mind, the Ardent doesn't forget the racer. Large block-style side knobs offer numerous edges for high-speed corners.

What customers say about "Key Specs"
Kenda Nevegal DTC Tire - 26in Black, 2.35
  • I like the width. It's about as wide as I can fit with my fork.
  • After a year of riding (rocks, ledges, etc.) the tread still looked great.
  • I've had this tire for 3 weeks now, grip grip grip and fantastic cornering!
  • These tires are the best XC trail tires out there and I won't buy anything else!
  • Not a super high volume tire but a great one nonetheless!
Maxxis Ardent (TB72555000) Mountain Bike Tire
  • Set up tubeless 2.25 in the back and 2.4 in the front. Been riding for 35 years... great all around tire for anyone.
  • I use it on power line maintenance roads in the mountain. Hard surface with loose sand and rocks - lots of hills. This tire is excellent on that surface.
  • Very aggressive tire that is well rounded and great for climbing.
  • A few rides on single track, roots and rocky areas, water crossing and slight elevation changes. You can really lean into corners and this set up pushes me right through.
  • Turned my otherwise standard Mountain Bike into a mid-fat tire bike. Great quality, very nice cushy ride.

What customers say about "Features"
Kenda Nevegal DTC Tire - 26in Black, 2.35
  • This tire rolls well and has a nice edge that really sticks in a tight corner.
  • It has an aggressive tread and throws a lot of dirt and rock, but I do not feel it is hard to roll at all.
  • They grip like crazy and are awesome for climbing and going over technical stuff.
  • They grip very well and are pretty tacky, even the dual tread compound which is the harder rubber compound.
  • Grabs a hold of anything but the loosest of terrain and has a fairly decent life for the tackiness of the rubber.
Maxxis Ardent (TB72555000) Mountain Bike Tire
  • Great quality and they wear very well. If you have not tried this skin on your bike - try it, you will love it.
  • I like less deep knobs because I bike to most of the trails I ride on using surface streets and also use my mt bike for surface street biking as well.
  • These are a good all-round tire and grip really well.
  • I ride mixed surfaces with some steep gravel road hills, nothing really grips on the climbs in the loose stuff but they handle well in the turns.
  • Have it on the back of my bike reversed and it works great. Lots of hill climbing grip, corners well and stops on a dime.
