About the Product
Design cues for the new Prodigy were inspired by the award-winning LMF II, another knife engineered by Gerber's Jeff Freeman. The Prodigy is much smaller (9.75" overall length), but it certainly packs as much punch as its predecessor.
Field tested with American troops, this 10 inch survival knife was engineered in partnership with our country's bravest.

What customers say about "Blade"
GerberGear Prodigy (22-41121) Survival Knife, Serrated Edge, Black
  • It has been through a rough time everywhere and nothing seems to dull the blade.
  • The serrated edges have been very handy for multiple uses including cutting open an old leather saddle that was stuck between very heavy storage cabinets.
  • Great overall quality and construction, Good price point, Sharp blade that holds and edge and a nice quality sheath.
  • Outstanding in every way, from the sheath to the thick, sharp-edged back of that handsome and razor sharp edge, this knife cannot be bested for value.
  • I didn't find any flaws. The blade, and the grind, is straight. The handle is very solid.
Gerber LMF II Infantry (22-41629) Knife, Black
  • This blade has outperformed every expectation I have for a blade. It's simple yet very effective.
  • I can stab right through sheet metal with this thing and it holds it's edge.
  • This knife is the best. After splitting red oak for the smoker it didn't even need sharpening.
  • Solid construction, holds edge super well (even after lots of batoning / wood splitting).
  • Its construction is top notch, and the knife blade is incredibly thick. It will easily handle the toughest of cutting jobs with ease, and the serrations are well made.

Gerber LMF II Infantry (22-41629) Knife, Black
  • It might be a little heavy for extended journeys but that's not going to stop me from taking it.
  • Feels really great in the hand and tacky in a good way to keep a grip.
  • It is much heavier than expected, but gives it a feeling of strength, which I like.
  • Well balanced, and sharp right out of the package. The sheath and leg straps are comfortable enough and the grip has a good feel to it.

What customers say about "Features"
GerberGear Prodigy (22-41121) Survival Knife, Serrated Edge, Black
  • It mounts perfectly with the molle system and has put up with some serious abuse.
  • I really like the way it snaps into its sheath, not requiring anything to hold it in place but it's own pressure from its very durable locking mechanism.
  • The handle is big enough to be easily used wearing gloves and the rubber groove will keep it secured firmly in a sweaty hand or in rain.
  • It's as sturdy as they come at a great price and sits well strapped on without rubbing/irritating.
  • The sheath materials appear to be good quality. I am very pleased with this purchase.
Gerber LMF II Infantry (22-41629) Knife, Black
  • One of the key aspects of it that I really like is the 3 holes for attaching the knife to branch which makes it a spear.
  • The grip is formed by a rubber coating over the tang. The rubber is extremely grippy, I love it.
  • The sheath is VERY rugged and conveniently outfitted with not only the belt loop but molle straps as well.
  • Grip feels good in the hand. Comes with a basic, useful sheath that I have been able to enhance with some 550 paracord wrapping.
  • The oversized handle fits perfectly with any sized hands.
