What customers say about "Key Specs"
Garmin Dash Cam 10 Standalone Driving Recorder
  • Quite pleased, the camera resolution appears pretty close to the what is claimed by the manufacture, controls are easy enough to figure out even if you dont have the manual in hand. Would recomend this dash cam to anyone.
  • Easy to use; took it from the box, attached to windshield, plugged it in; has worked fine ever since. Nice product, appears to be well made, has good resolution in both daylight and nighttime situations.
  • The included suction will fall off after a certain time, specially if the dash cam is being attached/detached often.
  • A cheaper Chinese dash camera had better video quality Not true HD quality.
Garmin Dash Cam 20 Standalone Driving Recorder
  • Premium device body build. You get the rich feel when you open the product. Camera looks great and feels perfect.
  • As soon as I connected the device to my car, it almost instantly started recording without any need of configuring it to record, etc.
  • HD quality videos. Which allows easy to read license plates.
  • Quite pleased, the camera resolution appears pretty close to the what is claimed by the manufacture, controls are easy enough to figure out even if you dont have the manual in hand. Would recomend this dash cam to anyone.
  • Camera works fine although the resolution is not as good as I had with a cheaper camera.

What customers say about "Video"
Garmin Dash Cam 10 Standalone Driving Recorder
  • The camera would only work on the 1080 resolution with a 4 minute time file. It would not work on the other resolutions. A 32 GB SD card was good for 8 hours so I would think a 4 GB card would be good for one hour.
  • The quality of the video it records is good but in my opinion could be a little better. I think this is mostly due to the compression settings of the actual Dash Cam. It creates .AVI/H.264 video clips which will play natively on Windows.
  • Video quality is superb and the wide angle lens captures everything.
  • The video is very nice and clear in the day but I get a lot of glare from signs, street lights and oncoming traffic at night.
  • The quality of the videos themselves are decent. It can be difficult to make out license plates if the other vehicle is in motion during the day. During the night, even more so.
Garmin Dash Cam 20 Standalone Driving Recorder
  • Night quality is okay. Can only record the incident with decent clarity. Good luck even reading the license plate.
  • Video quality at 720p is superb and the wide angle lens captures everything.
  • The video quality is fantastic. Garmin put a great lens in the gadget: video is clear, license plates are readable, color is good, angle is great, and even the night time video is usable.
  • Frame rate is slow (30 fps), but adequate for documenting incidents.
  • If trying to use this in a parking lot it only records one direction. It does not rotate to the direction of the impact and film the direction.

What customers say about "Features"
Garmin Dash Cam 10 Standalone Driving Recorder
  • Completely Hands-Off: Always leave connected to power source in your car (with a card inside); it will start & stop recording when you turn the ignition on & off.
  • Screen Auto Off (default): If checked, the screen dims one minute after power on or using any button.
  • The auto-dim feature is nice and it keeps the screen on but at a very low light level which does not hinder night driving.
  • The included 12V Car Power Adapter does not have sufficient length to "hide" the wire unless you opt to purchase their extended length charger available on the Garmin Website.
  • The dash cam 10 doesn't have GPS.
Garmin Dash Cam 20 Standalone Driving Recorder
  • The suction cup did not move from its place from the day I installed it. It was pretty good.
  • The software they provide for the computer looks professional.
  • Play back mode on device. This easily shut up a few people who blamed me with the incident. They knew once the insurance companies viewed the file they would be at fault.
  • Gps coordinates for location are helpful if you need to retrace your steps. Though if you don’t know where you are driving then you shouldn’t be driving. It’s not that hard to read mileage posts and inter section signs.
  • It is too hard to rotate the camera to a different position (if we want to move it slightly for accuracy).
  • When card is full it will flash a warning on the screen but if you don’t remember to clear the card it won’t record.
