What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Elac S10EQ Debut Series 400 Watt Powered Subwoofer by Andrew Jones with AutoEQ
  • The big advantage of the S10EQ design that you get a lot of power and volume out of a unit that’s smaller and easier to move around.
  • At 13.5" square it's a good size but not too large. Most importantly the sound is deep, booming, and without distortion.
  • The enclosure is quite small and compact, smaller than my old 10" 150 JBL subwoofer, and by quite a bit.
  • I'm so happy to have a fairly compact sub that produces such a full sound. At 400 watts it's more volume than I'll ever need.
  • This little workhorse is not really so little, it has a surprising hefty weight and after installing it and hearing the big sound, I was a bit afraid to leave in the TV cabinet.
Elac S12EQ Debut Series 1000 Watt Powered Subwoofer by Andrew Jones with AutoEQ
  • It is a great size, makes my whole system sound better and the ability to calibrate the unit into the room makes this a best buy!
  • The unit is heavy but looks nice and fit easily into the spot previously occupied by my old sub-woofer.
  • My point is that while the unit is heavy, it is not abnormally large for a subwoofer.
  • As for its size it's huge and heavy. But you really get what you're paying for with this.
  • This speaker is big and heavy. But the lines are clean and it fits in with most interior designs.

What customers say about "Audio"
Elac S10EQ Debut Series 400 Watt Powered Subwoofer by Andrew Jones with AutoEQ
  • A very powerful subwoofer for how light and compact it is, developed by a highly respected audio engineer.
  • The advantage with this design is that, with a lot of power driven in, even a highly compact 10 inch subwoofer like the S10EQ can get very loud, and evenly so across the entire response range.
  • Very powerful subwoofer! I listened to a heavy choral piece I like and it was beautiful.
  • Bass is tight and controlled except for the very low range frequencies.
  • The low frequencies have wavelengths comparable to room size, any subwoofer must be tuned to individual rooms and placement or the room resonances will make them sound terrible.
Elac S12EQ Debut Series 1000 Watt Powered Subwoofer by Andrew Jones with AutoEQ
  • A 500-watt (RMS) amplifier provides ample power to the front-firing active driver.
  • Down-firing 12″ passive radiator augments low-frequency output. ELAC specifies the frequency response of the sub from 28 to 150 Hz.
  • The S12EQ provides a flexible 1-band parametric EQ that lets you dial in the exact bass response you want.
  • The Elac S12EQ has a modern chic look to it. It has a BASH amplifier which is what is found on many high quality powered subwoofers.
  • This unit fills in those lower frequencies in such a profound way that I now know what I have been missing by not starting out my set-up with higher-end gear.

What customers say about "Features"
Elac S10EQ Debut Series 400 Watt Powered Subwoofer by Andrew Jones with AutoEQ
  • The cabinet is a vinyl finish MDF with sheen grill bezel that matches the stands, and it looks quite nice, for those who care about that.
  • There are no rear physical controls – instead you use a mobile app for adjusting the crossover and other such things, which can pair via Bluetooth. And this is awesome.
  • I absolutely love the ability to sit at my desk and mess with the settings on my phone through bluetooth.
  • Very impressed with the sound and power. Love the Bluetooth control via app.
  • The most difficulty I had, was with the ELAC Sub Control app, on a Galaxy S8+. Would lose communication with the sub, when trying to connect.
Elac S12EQ Debut Series 1000 Watt Powered Subwoofer by Andrew Jones with AutoEQ
  • The app-based DSP found in the S12EQ sets it apart from other similarly priced subwoofers I’ve seen and heard.
  • I successfully connected to the sub using an iPhone, an Android phone, and an Android tablet.
  • Auto-EQ function is a quick and easy 2-step calibration that smooths out a lumpy bass-response curve.
  • The app provides a volume control, phase control, delay control, and a variable lowpass filter—all very useful tools for subwoofer integration.
  • Gone are all external controls you typically find—there are no knobs or switches in sight. On the back of the sub, there’s nothing but an RCA input and a reset switch. Do not habitually.

What customers say about "Connectivity"
Elac S10EQ Debut Series 400 Watt Powered Subwoofer by Andrew Jones with AutoEQ
  • The Bluetooth connection was instantaneous and worked well.
  • Standard USB port for professional installers works well and there were no complaints about it.
  • LFE input (RCA) shows good performance. Perfect connection with my receiver.
  • It will pair adequately with all but very high end main speakers.
  • Around back, connectivity appears limited compared to other subwoofers. The expected arrangement of dials and flip switches are gone for just a single LFE input (RCA).
Elac S12EQ Debut Series 1000 Watt Powered Subwoofer by Andrew Jones with AutoEQ
  • The app remote was well designed, easy to navigate and connected smoothly.
  • It connects perfectly to my receiver and demonstrates excellent performance.
  • I like that it does not have many connectors for plugging in, which makes it easy to connect to my receiver.
  • With this subwoofer, you will forever forget what tangled wires are because it has 1 wonderful connector that works great and connects stably to my receiver.
  • The smart phone app would not connect with the sub. I had to unplug the sub to "reboot" it, which resolved the issue.
