The Perfect Party Guest

The Homelabs HME030065N is not something you put next to the desk to keep a few brewskis within a hand's reach. This thing is massive, measuring 18.9" x 17.3" x 33.25" and able to hold ~120 cans. No, this is an excellent and reliable assistant to the main fridge, the perfect party guest that will be able to improve any social gathering.

Before that though, the unit looks awesome, made from high-quality materials, including the stainless steel frame, the hinged door glass, and chrome shelves. The fridge's elegant, decorative finish will be able to light up any retro or modern kitchen. The white LED lights inside will be illuminating the beverages, enabling easy nighttime drink selection. As convenient as these solutions are though, they do not beat the reversible door that gives you so many more placement options. That's not to mention that the glass door is transparent, enabling constant beverage viewing pleasure. The height-adjustable feet somewhat do that too, letting you raise the fridge to make the contents as accessible as necessary without extra slouching.

The controls are elegant enough too, though you'll have to open the fridge to access them. Using these controls, you'll be able to adjust the temperature between 34 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit and utilize the automatic defrosting mode. The large screen will let you monitor and review these settings, while the fridge's memory function will be automatically restoring its preset temperature when the appliance gets unplugged or in case of a power outage.

Let's Be Quiet Here

Despite its massive size and capacity, the unit is pretty quiet. The compressor uses a small convection fan to cool quickly and maintain consistent circulation to ensure uniform temperature supply inside. The only issue here is that the black parts inside usually remain warm to the touch, so we would not recommend placing the drinks that you want to be especially cold next to these parts.

Now that we've pivoted towards the fridge's internals, so to speak, let's proceed towards the shelves. Inside, you'll find these three adjustable and removable shelves that you can use and pull out to organize and prioritize the items inside. The chrome shelves are rugged and durable, so you won't need to be especially gentle with them.

Bottom line, with this fridge, the party never has to stop. You'll be able to make your life much easier, your guests much happier, and your thirst quenched much faster.

A Beverage Showroom

Looking for a stylish mini beer fridge with good capacity? Try the Antarctic Star fridge cooler. This unit can accommodate up to 60 standard beer cans or a few bottles of your favorite wine. With that in mind, it doesn’t take up too much of your precious indoor space.

Kitchen, mini bar, or dorm, this 1.6 cu. ft. fridge will fit just about anywhere. Put it on or under the counter, and it will blend seamlessly with the modern interior. The fridge looks sleek and stylish thanks to the nice black finish, and the see-through glass door puts your beer or wine collection on display. Show it off to the eager guests, and your house party will get an instant popularity boost.

But that’s not all; the soft blue interior lighting makes this mini fridge look straight out of a local bar. You can’t turn it off, but it doesn’t go hard on the eyes and does a nice job of highlighting the fridge contents. The door comes with the reinforced glass and an airtight seal to always keep the cold in. The only time you’ll have to open it other than taking out a beer can is for adjusting the temperature inside the fridge.

Pick the Best Temp

Speaking about the temperature, this mini fridge can keep it between 40°F and 61°F. If you need a specific one for your favorite beverages, simply use the control knob. This handy unit can make your drinks ice cold – or refreshingly cool, depending on the temp setup.

What makes this fridge so good at its job? The built-in fan helps spread the cool air evenly to every corner of the chamber, supporting the 3D cooling environment. Thanks to this, the constant temperature inside the fridge doesn’t fluctuate more than ±1°C.

Need even more storage for your drinks? Couldn’t be easier with the Antarctic Star. The interchangeable door design lets you pick the storage areas, making the fridge extra convenient in use. The movable black shelves are good for storing cans horizontally or vertically. Note, however, that the shelves may bend under the maximum load.

Does this unit make a lot of noise? Actually, it’s pretty quiet and won’t disturb you or your pets. In case you need one for the office, grab your chance and put it on the to-buy list.

In short, this practical and compact fridge is a real find for drink connoisseurs, office workers, or dorm students.

Ideal for Travel

The AstroAI M040B is a nice little thing. At ‎9.65 x 7.28 x 10.63 inches, it's not too capacious, but that's what makes it an attractive choice for people looking for a portable mini fridge that can be kept at hand at all times. It's also a real looker. Featured with rounded edges and a glossy finish, it has a very stylish design that can perfectly fit just about anywhere. Moreover, unlike most other beverage fridges, it's available in a range of color options, including black, white, blue, pink, and teal, so you can choose the one that best matches your interior.

In terms of performance, the AstroAI M040B packs quite a punch, too. For starters, it's quite powerful, which is surprising for a unit of this size. It can cool up to 32 -40 °F below ambient temperature within just one hour, making it a perfect storage place for drinks, as well as medicine, skincare products, makeup, breast milk, food, snacks, and more. Furthermore, it utilizes quiet technology that helps keep its sound at a minimum of 25dB. This means, it won't keep you awake at night even if you put in the bedroom or take it with you on camping trips.

Speaking of, the AstroAI compact refrigerator is ideal for travel. It can be connected to both a 100-120V power supply and a 12V cigarette lighter, which makes it a truly versatile product. However, take note that running the fridge in a car is only safe while your vehicle's engine is on, otherwise it might drain its battery.

Capacity

Like we said, the AstroAI M040B is a quite small beverage fridge. Its inner dimensions are only 5.5 x 5.3 x 8.07 inches. That being said, this space should be more than enough to accommodate up to 6 cans of drinks 12oz each, or 5-6 wine bottles if you remove the shelf. Many users buy it for use in hospitals to keep medicine, while professional makeup artists use it as a storage for skincare and cosmetic. The insulation is great, so you can safely use it for long trips, too.

To add to that, this fridge can also be used a heater. As users report, it can keep food warm up to 150 °F within an hour and slightly over 80 °F within 3 hours, which favorably sets it apart from similar models at this price tag.

All in all, if you're looking for a portable beverage fridge to keep in your car or a cooler for cosmetic, skincare or medicine, the AstroAI M040B can be a perfect solution. It demonstrates great efficiency at keeping drinks and food products cool for a long time and is small enough to fit in the smallest of vehicles. As a nice bonus, it also looks really cute.

More Spacious than You'd Expect

The NewAir NBC060SS00 does not look especially spacious yet that's precisely what the unit is. Partially because the people behind this mini fridge have decided to remove the rack(s) that we usually see attached to the door, they've been able to make the unit as roomy (albeit less conducive towards organizing and separating the items inside) as it is without increasing the fridge's size.

The said size caps at 7.25" x 10.25" x 10.75", which is pretty ridiculous considering that mini fridges around this size are usually able to accommodate no more than ~6 cans, while this unit can hold around 60 cans. In other words, despite the compact footprint, this fridge packs a huge punch, able to fit all the drinks and snacks that you want without having to redesign the kitchen/garage to make enough room for a larger appliance.

The fridge's capacity has also been achieved without sacrificing aesthetics, so you won't have to worry about this unit dragging the room's vibe down. Some might find the fridge relatively loud though, so we would suggest light sleepers to avoid placing this appliance next to the bed.

Besides that, the double-paned glass door will be able to sustain the cold temperature inside, all while providing that timeless stainless steel look that separates high-end appliances from cheap substitutions. Naturally, as the "glass" part suggests, the door is also transparent, so you'll be able to gaze at and ogle your favorite beverages without opening the door. Other than that, the door is reversible, so when you want to place the unit somewhere but worry that there are obstructions that might block the fridge from opening, you can always change the door from opening from right to left and vice versa. Last but not least, the tempered glass door adopts a stainless steel trim, making it especially tough and durable.

Five Custom Temperature Settings

The fridge comes equipped with an adjustable thermostat, letting you choose any temperature from 34 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit with ~3-degree increments. These custom settings are welcome especially because the unit is fitted with a removable shelf and rack, so you can separate beverages and snacks from fruits and vegetables and select the temperature that these foods and drinks require. You can pull out the shelf to make room for large bottles and remove the rack to fit more cans when necessary.

All things considered, provided you don't mind that the noise levels might reach ~40 decibels, there's no reason you won't be able to benefit from this beer fridge.

USB Will Do

The Cooluli CL4LBK will not be able to assist bachelors looking to throw epic parties. The fridge was not designed to do that. No, the unit is flexible and versatile but not from the capacity standpoint. Measuring 0.14 cubic feet, this mini fridge won't be able to hold more than ~6 cans. We're not complaining though. Again, this compact unit wasn't designed to accommodate as much content as possible.

Before anything else, the fridge was designed with mobility in mind. It weighs less than five pounds and measures 7.25" x 10.25" x 10.75", meaning you can easily carry this unit with one hand, especially thanks to the molded inset handle. You can choose between different colors, from blue and red to white and even cow (white housing with black spots) but we would recommend going with black since the matte finish really brings out the fridge's modern yet elegant profile, making this affordable product look expensive.

Setting aside the size, weight, and even the handle, what makes the unit so versatile and portable is also different power supply options. You can plug this mini fridge into the mains via the provided AC cord, not unlike most appliances. You can use the car cigarette lighter port to sustain the fridge, making the unit an excellent road trip or tailgate party assistant. Last but absolutely not least, you'll also be able to use the 2-amp USB port to keep the fridge working, which is a huge advantage since that means any power bank will be able to do the trick, so you can bring the fridge even onto picnics to places with no electricity sources around.

Bring Some Snacks with You

Does the product have its flaws? Sure. The latches that support the doors are pretty flimsy, so we would not recommend swinging it carelessly or opening the door with excessive force.

Aside from that though, the unit is good. You can switch between cooling and warming modes. It is able to keep the temperature inside as low as 35 degrees Fahrenheit and as high as 150 degrees Fahrenheit, so you'll be able to keep the meals warm when necessary too. You can remove the shelf to make more space for large bottles and remove the door rack to add that extra space necessary to place drinks horizontally. The rack can be used to hold snacks though, so we would definitely not recommend tossing it away.

Long story short, you can bring the Cooluli CL4LBK anywhere with you, from road trips to picnics. Plus, the unit is about as quiet as most laptops.

What Is a Beer Fridge?

While it may seem that the refrigerators are getting bigger and bigger these days, so are our grocery lists, to be completely fair. Surely you wouldn’t want to replace salad or any other useful and essential produce, piece of meat, or some kind of ingredient for something as arguably unimportant as a couple of cans of beer, but wouldn’t it be nice to always have enough space for your favorite brewski to enjoy at the end of a long day? Or, better yet, have an access to a cold can of beer inside your own car? Well, all of that is possible with a simple beer fridge. As the name suggests, we are talking about a household and sometimes portable appliance that will allow you to store from a single can up to dozens of your favorite beers for you to enjoy after a long day at work in the comforts of your own home or on a picnic at a nice little family getaway. Heck, you can even place one of these in your office to make sure that those tiresome Fridays get a proper evening celebration.

And if beer isn’t necessarily what gets you out of bed in the morning and you consider yourself more of a wine guy, you might want to consider purchasing a wine aerator.

What Features to Compare

Capacity

As you would imagine, a beer fridge is not necessarily one of the more complex appliances out there, so there aren’t a whole lot of things you have to keep in mind if and when you decide to purchase one. Nevertheless, there are still a couple of aspects that we would definitely recommend taking into consideration before settling for a product that suits your needs and preferences, with the first one of them being the capacity of the fridge. Some of these models will be able to provide enough space for literally a hundred cans while others are designed to fit no more than a single brewski, which is why it is important to take into account what it is exactly you’re looking for out of your beer fridge.

If you want one to put in your own home and you have enough space in your house or your apartment, you could easily opt for the most capacious offer out there. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a model that will prove to be useful in a variety of scenarios, be it a family getaway somewhere nice and sunny or a little corner in your office to store a few drinks, you might want to choose a more versatile product that features somewhere around 0.35 cubic feet in volume and is able to fit from 6 to 12 cans of beer. Finally, if all you want is to always have one cold brewski to enjoy whenever and wherever you want, you may always go with those incredibly compact fridges that are designed for no more than a single can.

Dimensions

Now, it should probably go without saying, but the capacity of the fridge is largely determined by the size of it, so you should definitely take its dimensions into account and consider just how much free space you have in the place where you’d like to put the fridge.

Source of Power

Aside from that, once you have figured out where exactly you’d like to put your beer fridge, do not forget to look into the source of power the model utilizes before you actually purchase one. If you aren’t just looking for an appliance to put inside your house and never actually move it, you might want to make sure that the model can extract power from a car cigarette lighter port or a USB port.

Additional Features

Finally, there are also all kinds of extra conveniences that will be able to help you make the right choice and the number of shelves that you should keep in mind if you’re going for a spacious beer fridge that can store a dozen or more cans of your favorite cold beverage.

Did you know?

It probably wouldn’t be a huge exaggeration to say that regardless whether you truly appreciate all of the conveniences that a fridge offers you or tend to take those for granted, the majority of people do not necessarily find the most common household appliance out there to be particularly interesting or fascinating. And while we certainly can’t blame anyone for that, we decided it would be a good idea to take advantage of this opportunity and share some interesting facts about fridges in general and beer fridges in particular that we have been able to find browsing through the Internet. So, without further ado, here are a few tidbits that you may or may not find entertaining:

The Chicken or the Egg?

If we (or anybody else, for that matter) were to take a wild guess without actually looking into the roots of this question, it would have to be a regular refrigerator that came first and a beer fridge that followed him. Nevertheless, that isn’t actually the case. It was the middle of the 19th century when a Scottish-born journalist living in Australia that went by the name James Harrison came up with the idea and invented what is now known to be the very first properly functioning refrigerator using no other compound but ether. According to this enterprising individual, he used this groundbreaking invention strictly to cool his beer. The man did not even care to file a patent for his invention, which is why a decade later a French monk would receive all of the credit for the very first domestic refrigerator. By the way, the monk’s name was Abbé Marcel Audiffren and the guy used this appliance with the sole purpose of cooling wine, not entirely dissimilar to the Scottish-Australian’s application, as you would imagine. A few years after the fact, the man decided to sell the rights to his creation to General Electric, which later started to sell them charging people about a thousand bucks for a single model, twice the price of an average car at the time.

Huge is One Word to Describe It

Now, if you feel like fridges have been exponentially growing in size for the past couple of decades, we would just like to mention that, slightly dissimilar to our current models, a fridge could weigh up to 5 tons in the latter part of the 19th century. Suffice it to say, these things were a bit too big to install at home.

The History Repeats Itself Once Again

Barely useful appliance accessories that come with all kinds of smart home devices are all the rage these days. And while that is true that you can hardly surprise anyone with a fridge that comes with a built-in television or a Wi-Fi connection, this kind of approach is actually nothing new to the fridge tech industry. In 1937, for instance, one company, trying to stand out from the ever-increasing crowd of competitors, came up with the idea of a refrigerator with a radio built into it. And, oddly or not so oddly enough, they have even been able to sell a few of these models before the line was permanently discontinued. So next time you walk by a fridge that features such “useful” novelties as the ability to show off a family photo or a calendar on a digital display, these are the people you ought to thank for that.

FAQ:

Q: Can I store perishables in my mini fridge? Which temperature would you recommend for keeping milk fresh for a week or so?
A: We strongly advise against keeping your milk in mini models that are not specifically designed with that purpose in mind. These are intended to keep things mildly cold, chilling beverages and snacks. Perishables, including milk, could survive a day or two but more than that is a big gamble. It’s best to keep those products in a regular fridge unless you have absolutely no free space left.

Q: How can I tell if the shelf in my model is removable? Can I just try pulling it out?
A: Most appliances will have that information specified on the product page or in the manual. And, of course, we try to provide that info if it’s available. Moreover, most models have removable shelves as it’s more convenient for the customer. If you’re not sure, try gently tugging on the shelf to check whether it slides out. Just don’t pull too hard in case it’s non-removable.

Q: My 15-liter fridge only has space for 14 cans, why is this? Am I placing them wrong or is it a faulty model?
A: This is pretty standard as far as fridges go as the internal space is taken up not just by-products but by shelves and racks as well. If you take out the removable shelf, you’ll get a little bit more space but that can make quite a difference, allowing you to store another can of beer, provided that you place it correctly. Also, remember that the dimensions of a can or a bottle aren’t universal and different brands have different container sizes. So your fridge might actually be able to store 15 cans of some other drink.

Q: How can I get rid of the noise the fridge makes? Is it possible to cover it to make the hum quieter? Or maybe I can make the temperature higher to minimize the strain on the cooling fan?
A: First off, do not cover the fridge with anything, especially the back panel. This would be a massive fire hazard and could cause serious damage to the appliance. Changing the temperature doesn’t affect the noise much unless the appliance is a low-quality one. Most high-end models emit a stable low hum that doesn’t get louder even if the fridge is running to keep the lowest temperature possible. Some of the mini fridges do have an eco mode that not only cuts down on noise but also optimizes the cooling process to be more environmentally friendly. However, customers report that this mode is less effective when it comes to chilling beverages, so it won't be that great of an option on hotter days. A universal solution, though not the best one, is to simply place the fridge further away so the noise doesn’t reach you. That’s one of the primary reasons why most users don’t place these models in their bedrooms if they’re light sleepers.

Q: Can I put my mini fridge right next to my PC tower or some other tech?
A: Depending on the model, some mini coolers might have external parts on the back or the sides. If the insulation of the fridge isn’t up to par, the heat from the constant operation may accumulate in these parts and, if they touch your rig, damage the computer. We recommend running the fridge for a bit and then checking to see if it gets hot just to be sure.

Q: What is the best temperature for beer fridge to run at?
A: While there is no "golden standard", it's recommended to at least keep it below 4°C to ensure that the contents are chilled properly.
