What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Olympus TG-5 Waterproof Camera
  • Weight was a little heavy but worth it. Case was a little slippery so I custom cut rubber grip tape and now the camera looks even more expensive
  • It is compact. I have to do a lot of one handed shooting and the quick to grab and eade of sticking it in a pocket aspect of this camera is super
  • A bit heavier than I'd like for backpacking and trough hiking, but it's better than a DSLR. The one star out is for weight, but it's a minor complaint
Nikon COOLPIX W300 Waterproof Underwater Digital Camera
  • It is quite heavy compared to my other (less expensive) Nikon digital cameras, but I like the weight; it makes me feel like I have gotten a better camera.
  • It's size and durability, insure that I'll always have it ready, when I'm in the water. It's simple to use, and can take a beating.
  • I purchased this for a trip thinking it would be perfect because of the compact size and the zoom.
  • I purchased this primarily for the 4K video, which I think is fantastic for a camera of this size. The video quality is indeed something to rave about coming from a camera of this size.

What customers say about "Imaging"
Olympus TG-5 Waterproof Camera
  • The image sensor and photo quality are darn good. Sunsets turn out vivid and as long as you use a tripod, low light pictures turn out good too.
  • Microscope mode is simply amazing. You can focus as close as 1cm and zoom 4X optically.
  • The built in focus stacking will process several images to maximize sharpness.
  • With the LG-1 light guide you get perfect lighting up close.
  • You can choose digital zoom to magnify zoom by factors of 1X, 2X or 4X. (obviously image quality degrades at these high settings)
  • If you let the camera select the ISO and it creeps up to take a picture in lower light, the image immediately becomes garbage.
  • While in microscope mode, there is no provision for user tweaks to aperture or program shift. Although focus stacking is great to have, you cannot select the size of the stack.
Nikon COOLPIX W300 Waterproof Underwater Digital Camera
  • Easy to use! I literally pointed and shot. I liked the latitude of ISO which allows decent Low light shots. And video worked well too.
  • This model impressed me most due to the quality of its chassis and comfortable fit in my hand, its superior display monitor, its 24–120mm equivalent focal length range (the super-wide angle especially attracted me)
  • It supports recording at UltraHD resolution 4K (XAVC S 3840 x 2160) at 30p.
  • Picture quality is fairly decent for a camera with this size sensor
  • I purchased this for a trip thinking it would be perfect because of the compact size and the zoom. The zoom is very disappointing, doesn't get nearly as close up as I had hoped.

What customers say about "Display"
Olympus TG-5 Waterproof Camera
  • Unlike most new cameras, it does not have a touch screen which is the most common criticism I've seen of it, but those critics don't seem to be aware that touch screens don't work very well - if at all - under water. All of the controls on the TG-5 are physical and work above and below the surface
  • The screen goes off rather quickly compared with the 4 or 5 other waterproof cameras I've owned. The TG-5 comes to life with a tap on the shutter trigger And your settings are right where you left it. The screen going dark saves the battery so I get 2 to 3 snorkels on a charge
  • The rather generously sized three inch monitor screen has a menu with forty-one display items though fortunately not all visible at the same time.
  • The camera is robust but the front lens cover and back monitor screen could get scratched, it all depends how careful you are with your expensive equipment.
  • Way too much information on the screen resulting in everything being very small.
Nikon COOLPIX W300 Waterproof Underwater Digital Camera
  • The picture and video captured by this camera are just outstanding, and the LCD display is really fantastic.
  • I love the traditional buttons on the side of the camera, that lets me zoom in and out, while seeing on the display the preview, and it’s just practical and simply to use.
  • The monitor display on this W300 is so much better than the one on my old DMC-FX30 that it is now much easier for me to notice when the exposure needs adjustment.
  • If sunlight is really bright, display is hard to see when snorkeling.

What customers say about "Protection"
Olympus TG-5 Waterproof Camera
  • It stayed waterproof to a depth of 10'. I did not go any deeper.
  • Waterproof, sensible double locks on compartments, reasonable lens, reasonable picture, and RAW format.
  • This waterproof camera is absolutely fantastic it takes great photos can shoot at 20 frames per second and shoots 4k video works great.
  • Waterproof; shockproof; freezeproof and on and on
  • The TG-5 is waterproof to 50 feet - way deeper than I'm likely to go, so that's perfect. It's also shock resistant, and crush resistant - though I'm hoping not to test those out :)
Nikon COOLPIX W300 Waterproof Underwater Digital Camera
  • Great underwater camera! I took it on my first scuba diving trip down 18.5 meters for 50 minutes and got good pics!
  • It is dustproof, and shock resistant. With a great resilience under cold weather.
  • Being shockproof is a HUGE plus, since I have dropped my current camera and beat the crap out of it, and when I dropped my previous Nikon, which I ADORED, I broke the viewing screen.
  • The fact that this camera is waterproof to a depth of 30m/100ft is interesting
  • This Nikon W300 Waterproof Camera is a workhorse camera, perfect for most all situations. First, it's waterproof - it really can be wetted or submerged, take pictures underwater, works in the rain, works if you drop your coffee on it, it works

What customers say about "Connectivity"
Olympus TG-5 Waterproof Camera
  • The camera does a very nice WiFi interface with my Samsung tablet which can control the camera as well import photos from it
  • Camera makes it's own wifi (can use phone to control shutter, etc)
  • The two openings, one for the battery/card and one for the HDMI/USB cables each have two mini slide locks and they are closed when an orange color isn't visible under the four slide bars.
  • The biggest disappointment is WiFi. The primitive WiFi only works with cell phones. You cannot use WiFi over a network/PC.
  • The only weird thing is that the GPS display data is displaying the barometer in Pascals and the temp in centigrade...can't find the setting to change it. Probably going to hav to wait for software update.
Nikon COOLPIX W300 Waterproof Underwater Digital Camera
  • The W300 does display compass direction, altitude, and surface pressure for each photo in playback mode, which is cool
  • I like the GPS capability and the altitude readout on the screen since I do a lot of mountain backpacking.
  • Surprise feature: Direct micro USB charging! No proprietary wires to lose or wall plug thingy's, and you can recharge on the go using standard cell phone battery banks.
  • The W300 has lots of new Wifi/Blutooth and GPS stuff and a number of scenes
  • I purchased this camera because of the advertised ruggedness and the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology. Both the Bluetooth and the Wifi are a complete failure. I should have read the reviews for the Nikon SnapBridge app which are abmissmal.

What customers say about "Power"
Olympus TG-5 Waterproof Camera
  • Love not replacing batteries, just plug in at end of day.
  • Battery life very good. I could shoot most of the day and the battery was still half charged.
  • Battery life has been quite good.
  • The battery life is way to short...buy xtra The camera WILL die on you just when that once in a lifetime shot is desired...just expect it.. it WILL happen.
Nikon COOLPIX W300 Waterproof Underwater Digital Camera
  • Surprise feature: Direct micro USB charging! No proprietary wires to lose or wall plug thingy's, and you can recharge on the go using standard cell phone battery banks. Bravo!
  • The button lay out makes sense, it has a long battery life, the image quality is great.
  • Good battery life as long as you don't forget it is on.
  • No cradle means you have to open the camera and charge the battery while it is in the camera. So if you want to have extra batteries charged and ready when you need them. You need to charge them all in the camera or find an after market external charger.
